    What?

Oh, no. I'm so sorry. I know you will miss her. RIP Sandi, and my prayers are with you and her family.
  2. I hope you have a safe trip. Have a great new year. I'll look forward to reading more of your work as you return!

    Chapter 8

Wow, thank you for reviewing!! I knew you had read it, since you'd mentioned that before. I greatly appreciate reading what you think of each chapter. I look forward to what you have to say about the rest!

    Chapter 14

Not sure how I feel about James up to this point. I really kinda hate him, but I also know that he's acting out because he feels neglected by his father. I really hope the whole lot of them get some counseling. I'm hoping to see James come around and be more understanding towards Sacha. I can't wait to get back to reading the rest.
  5. I live in Leesburg, VA (Northern Va), and I really love it here mostly because I'm close to my parents. But I love the mountains, so I'd probably want to live a little further south in the mountains somewhere.

    Chapter 1

Oh, wow, what a hook. I've been waiting to read this story and now I'm glad I did because I'm sure now that I won't want to put it down until I'm done!

Great imagery. All the little details make it so much more chilling and intense. Loved it. Thanks for sharing it.
  8. Just wanted to say that I'm nine chapters and 20k+ words into the Tears of the Neko sequel, so it is coming along. I expect it will be shorter than the original, but we'll see after my betas get back to me. I have sent the first six chapters to them today, but of course, being the holidays, I don't expect to hear from them soon. I have been sick the last two weeks, and that has slowed down my intended progress quite a bit. But I would still expect to have it out in January, just maybe not right at the beginning. Oh, and I think I've decided on a title for it: Blood of the Neko (in keeping with same format as Tears of the Neko). When I got bored and couldn't focus on writing, I played around with a cover. I'll have to see if I can get it added in here...
  9. Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
  10. Most definitely, thank you to everyone here--authors, readers, editors, betas, admin--you all make this site such a great place to be a part of. * raising my southern comfort egg nog in toast with everyone else* I am so glad I found this site this year and look forward to being an active part of it in the new year!
  11. Congratulations Joann and Ron!
  12. glad you liked it!
  13. Thanks! I seem to take those words that won't fit into the 'neko world' easily as a challenge to make them work--and it was just staring at me while I was working on the sequel.
  14. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And apparently, I can't seem to stay away from writing the shorts--those prompts are addictive and I love a challenge. So I guess there is the probably of more; I just didn't have any more planned, until this new one hit me today.
  15. Hehe, well, apparently, I've already reconsidered! Since one hit me today in the middle of working on the sequel. So maybe more will continue to smack me over the head.
  16. Yes, I am in the process of writing the sequel right now. I've only gotten about 3 chapters done so far, but both of my previous stories I've tended to write in about two weeks, once I really get going, so I am still hopeful to have it done for posting in January.
  17. You're right, what was I thinking? I am so glad everyone is enjoying them! And I guess you get your wish, in that at least you got another short!
  18. Yes, soon, hopefully by January. And apparently, I can't seem to stay away from the prompts (they are so darned addictive), and so I just posted the one I wrote while I was in the middle of working on the sequel.
  19. She's become a much more dynamic character in the shorts than she was in the original story, and I've enjoyed writing a bit about her.
  20. Thank you so much!
  21. Well, apparently, you'll have both! Since I was just working on the sequel and I was inspired by the prompt that was just posted to write another short! That one will actually probably appear in the sequel though.
  22. I hope to have the sequel done by January! Working on it now, I promise.
  23. Thank you. I really am enjoying writing them. I think it's because they are short one-offs and I can jot them out pretty quickly and have fun with them. I think the 'books' are just more serious, whereas these aren't necessarily (although some turned out that way). I plan on Kayden staying on as Damien's companion, even when he's king. Damien is already anticipating that he will do as his uncle did, naming his nephew as his heir. I'm on chapter 3 of the sequel right now. It's slow going, as I'm sick at the moment. But hoping to have it done over the holidays!
  24. Prompt #378--list of words: gift, broken shoelace, brown coat, scarf, and a zebra ZeBra "Kayden! It's so nice of you to come visit with me today," Penelope smiled. She had her hand resting on her stomach as if instinctively protecting the growing life in her belly already. Kayden could tell she was excited about the baby. Harrison had been ecstatic when he'd rushed over to tell Damien. He sat down next to her as she fanned herself with the peacock feather fan that he had made for
  25. I originally came here looking for the stories. I read several before deciding to join and make it easier on myself so I could mark them to follow and I could find them again easier. I think Paradox of Promises, Waiting in the Wings, and Weeping Lily were the first stories that I read here and came back for. Then I discovered several more of Nephylim's stories and was hooked. I had just started posting Tears of the Neko at two other sites, so I decided to post here as well. While I made a mess of trying to post it, Cia was so wonderful and helpful that it just helped solidify how nice the people were here. When I started posting the Tears of the Neko, I received soooo many helpful reviews that not only told me what they liked but also what bothered them or questions they had that weren't answered in the story. It's the reviews and posts here that prompted the revision of the Neko, making it even better! GA has now become my go-to site for posting. While I did post All In at the other two sites, they were a couple days behind the posts here. And the Neko Shorts are only available here. It's taken me a while, but I've also started joining in responding to some of the forum posts and status updates because I now feel so much more comfortable here. I've always been rather shy, so posting comments and such has never been really my thing. I mean, I don't even post on my Facebook. So my husband finds it amusing that I've finally found a place I can enjoy so much. I always refer to it as "my site" when I'm talking to him about what's happening. So thank you everyone! You have all been so nice and welcoming!
