Ugh, bastard! I don't even mean Roman this time (well, maybe him too). Is Harry an idiot? Kay is better suited to recognizing people than anyone else so far. With his sense of smell and constant awareness of threats, "Maybe he just thought it was Roman" is a pathetic excuse. I wanted Roman to be caught, but now I don't think it would matter; those idiots would think he was innocent if he was caught walking away from a body with blood still on his hands -.- I'm being too harsh, I know, but that just bothered me How can Damien not believe Kay? He knows the reaction Kay has whenever Roman's nearby. He's seen Kay panic before Roman even comes into view; there's no excuse for "oh, you must have just seen him out of the corner of your eye" as an excuse. He says he believes Kay, but by trying to convince himself that Kay was mistaken he's being deliberately blind, and to be frank, a pussy. He's afraid of thinking too hard about whether or not Roman could do that, so he's just gonna ignore it and try to forget? That's pathetically weak, and not something a prospective king should be doing. The duty of a leader is to face things that other people are afraid to; by turning aside like this he's practically proving his inability to be a good leader. If he doubted Roman in the slightest and cared enough about Kay to take action, he could easily just hide and arrange for Kay to 'happen across' Roman where he can see. He's not an idiot (I know I'm contradicting myself, but I didn't mean it before, I still love Damien and Harry ), the only reason he could have for not suggesting that is that he's afraid of what it will prove, and doesn't care enough about Kay to help. Sorry for ranting, but I'm really disappointed in both Damien and Harry for that, I didn't expect something like this to be a problem. On a happier note, it's awesome to see Kay starting to stand up for himself! He fought back (only a little, but baby steps) against Roman, and he even told Damien the truth! It was crushing to see Damien not believe him, though. What can Kay feel now but fear? Damien promised to protect him, but I think Kay's starting to see how hollow that promise was, and I'm worried about what that'll do to Kay's recovery. He was doing so well because he could trust and love Damien, what's gonna happen now that he can't trust or be trusted? I hope Kay doesn't let up. If he won't let Damien forget, then either Damien will have to face the truth, or he'll make Kay shut up and prove himself unworthy of Kay's love. Either way, the kitten ends up in a better position than before; now, all he has to look forward to is fear, pain, and doubt. OK, I'm done ranting at Damien and Harry now... time to start on Roman just kidding, there's not much more to be said about him, except that he seems to be a terrible liar, which is good . Oh, and the stable master is willing to lie to Damien for Roman, that can't be good. Hopefully it was Roman blackmailing him and not him being on Roman's side. Anyway, you might not be able to tell from how much I was hating on all the characters, but this was one of my favorite chapters so far . The story's really captivating, I'm already dying to read the next chapter and it hasn't been long since I finished this one oh well, I'm not gonna torture myself too much, onto the next one! Aww, Kay's so adorable when he's playful! Damien's loosened up so much, it's awesome . Everyone seems to be happy, although someone needs to pull the stick out of Roman's ass (and hopefully replace it with a sword ). Something tells me Roman's gonna screw it all up, though, and I doubt I hate him half as much now as I will when it's over Love the story, I can't wait to read more!

I hope that horse tramples Roman I'll be much happier when that bastard's out of the picture, although I doubt he's gonna go soon . Anyway, I keep falling more and more in love with this story it's so good! I noticed there's shorts for this too, so it'll be nice to get to those when I finish with this again, thanks for writing!

Uh oh, Roman's pissed at both Damien and the king now, and with his spitefulness and ambition I doubt he even has any qualms anymore about having them killed/imprisoned/whatever he's planning. His disappearances can't be good, either. I liked Harrison and Damien catching up, though . I'm a little disappointed in Harrison for not connecting the dots between Roman and Kay; for such an observant person he's being pretty blind. I guess it'd be hard to believe that your brother could do something like that, but still.

Yay! Seeing Damien accept that he cares for Kay is awesome, I just wish Kay had gone a bit further when he was telling Damien about the hunters it probably only would have taken him a few more sentences to tell what Roman did to him, it was so tantalizingly close . I doubt he'd be comfortable enough yet - especially after the yelling and the whole 'tiger' thing - to talk to Damien about it, but still. Anyway, hopefully now that Damien knows Kay doesn't like being called a tiger he'll get Roman to stop, and Roman's reluctance (I doubt he'd like having to change anything for a slave much) might tip Damien off as to how much of a royal douchebag he is I'm really loving this story, not quite as much as 'All In', but it's close Thanks for writing it!

I'm so happy that Harrison and Damien are starting to smell the shit wafting off Roman! Maybe soon they'll lock him away and forget where they put the key! Maybe that's a little (OK, a lot) optimistic/unlikely, but still . I love the gentle comfort between Damien and Kay, and it's awesome to see Kay getting used to other people! Hopefully the contrast between how he treats most people and how he treats Roman will force everyone to clue in that something's wrong

Haha the king's so nice, and he's the only one who sees through Roman so far, he's awesome! His guards are a bit uptight, but that's probably a good thing considering what I suspect Roman of plotting . I have to admit, when the king stumbled, my first thought was that Roman was poisoning him. The description of him after that just reaffirmed it, him stumbling one moment and being strong the next would have to be either poison or extreme weakness that he's trying to hide. The weakness one seems unlikely because of how he acted after Roman left, you'd think he'd relax a little around only people he trusts who also know the burden of leadership. I'm a little worried for the king now that he's pissed Roman off, hopefully that won't make Roman advance his plans sooner. Even if Damien has to be king at some point, it'd be nice to see him enjoy being with Kay for a little while first

I loved the shaving cream scene, it was hilarious and heartwarming . I wasn't as much of a fan of Damien leaving Kay alone, but it's not like he knows about Roman so I can't really blame him for that . Hopefully Roman stays away from Kay for a while longer, I don't want to think about what he'd do if he knew that Damien was warming up to Kay like he is. Awesome chapter!

Looks like Will's oversight was a good thing, imagine if he'd tried to slip in and killed anyone there something tells me they wouldn't have been nearly as friendly

That was incredibly satisfying considering that wasn't even a thousandth of what he put Devyn through, he really doesn't have a right to bitch about it, but it was nice to hear anyway . I just wish he hadn't had that spark of hope that he'd be OK in prison it would have been nice for his spirit to have been fully crushed before he died . Anyway, this just reminded me how amazing the story was - I hadn't forgotten about it, but my memory couldn't do it justice. It was nice to go back to the story, even just for a while Thanks for writing, and especially for this chapter!

Aww, Kay's so cute! it's nice to see him loosening up a little, around Damien at least . More to add to the Roman conspiracy theory now: him wanting to "be more aware of what's going on in the kingdom" or whatever his excuse was seemed like a good way for him to get familiar with what he'll need to do when Damien's out of the picture, and to build useful connections, but maybe I'm just looking for things to hate on Roman for now Can't wait to read more, it's a fun story already

It's good how Damien seems to care about Kayden already, even if it's more because he got all the 'nice person' genes that skipped over Roman than because he likes the neko. I can't wait to see Kay realize that Damien doesn't mean him any harm, and if Damien is the first person to be nice to him, I think he'll get protective and mention Roman's assassination plot (that "yeah, long live the king" thing just sealed it, in my mind ). Speaking of Roman, that other neko not checking up on Kay reeks of something deeper. Kay was thinking about how much the blood smelled the entire way over, and there was enough to turn the bathwater pink, so the smell would still be strong and in the air, more than a simple cut could produce. Even if that wasn't enough, finding blood all over the pants had to be an indication. The only reason I can think of for that is willful ignorance, which makes me nervous about how Roman treats the other nekoes. If the big neko wasn't surprised by it, could he have been another victim? I could see Roman wanting to feel powerful by taking advantage of a large slave like that, and after what he's shown so far nothing would surprise me. Oh well, loving the story I'm totally hooked

Kay really is catlike, he seems to sleep whenever he can I can't blame him, there's not much else he can do, and after the life he's had he probably wants any escape from reality he can get Anyway, I can't wait to see the lemon-flavored douchebag and his assassination plans for Damien (I'm assuming, but from what he said (something about damien stepping down and himself being the king soon) and the fact that he seems to have no sense of morality at all, it seems logical) come to a suitably painful end Thanks for writing, it's an awesome story!

Roman seems like an asshole already, he reacted way to much to Kay accidentally cutting him, and between the comment there (I don't remember what it was word for word, but it implied what got Roman so mad was that it was a neko/slave that had done it) and the suspicious lack of nekoes in the house (I don't care what flimsy reasons Arnett gives, I won't believe Roman has nothing to do with that until it's proved lol), I'm a little worried that he might have something against nekoes. He seemed happy enough to have his greasy paws on Kay before he got scratched, though, so it can't be too bad. Either way, I'm glad Damien isn't giving Roman the throne, even if it's consuming him. Hopefully Kay will help him learn how to do his duties to his kingdom and himself

Ooh, I like the story already! It's not usually what I'd read, but after 'All In' I could happily read anything of yours, so I figured I'd give it a try anyway it's a good thing I did! I love the names in this story too 'Kayden' in particular is awesome, it seems to suit him really well. I've never read about nekoes before, and it's pretty far outside what I'd usually read, but after reading Sasha's story on a cat-person I warmed up to the idea a bit I like it so far here, although them being slaves, and that slave master in particular, are kinda... I don't know, but I don't like them (he's nowhere near Brad, though, Brad's still untouchable as the biggest bastard out there) Onto the next chapter

About the end note, it makes no difference to me if the 'previously' and 'to be continued' things are there, I tend to gloss over things like that anyway . It was a good chapter, although what was Lupus doing walking on the roof? If she's a telepath anyway, she could have stayed further away so Adam didn't know she'd been there. She must have wanted him to know for some reason

I love the POV change, it makes it that little bit more personal, and that's exactly what this chapter needed . The only thing I noticed was that you slipped back into third person for a minute when talking about Devyn's trust fund: Other than that (insignificant) little detail, the story was absolutely flawless It's definitely one of my all time favorites, and I'm looking forward to coming back and rereading every once in a while . This isn't a story I'll ever forget, but it's good enough to reread anyway . I was meaning to write a longer review, but after reading that I've got too many things crashing through my mind to write coherently . Anyway, thanks so much for writing such a masterpiece! Reading this has been an amazing experience, and I'm looking forward to the Brad insert . Noo! It's over!? I guess I still have the epilogue to look forward to, but... *cries* XD. It really is a perfect ending, but any ending at all for a story this good is sad I'm so happy to see Devyn recovering! The only thing I don't totally love is that Devyn meeting the bastard doctor again would probably be bad for him, so him watching horrible things being done to that asshole would probably be counterproductive Jason and Lyle could always take care of it, though . You have a real gift for making readers feel things for characters Between how bloodthirsty we've been getting towards Brad and his associates and how much everyone loves Devyn, it's been (like Gary said) a real rollercoaster ride I'm with Caand and Houdinii, it'd be nice to see Devyn not use his new riches as a crutch in life I guess I'll save a real review till I've read the epilogue, but in short, this is one of the best stories I've ever read Oh, almost forgot, Devyn whimpered in this chapter (when Michael was trying to get him to bed)
