    Chapter 2

Thank God, they're both good shots...suspect it's gonna come in useful! Damn cliffhanger--again! On to the next chapter--and you WILL resolve this there, right? <grin>
  2. Robert Rex

    Chapter 1

Interesting start to the story...two (new) lovers in a survival bunker? And the reference is made do dad's paranoia--where's that coming from. And then to ended on a cliffhanger...well, I'm hooked! On to the next chapter of this intriguing story!

    Chapter 2

Think Puppilull is right--the banker is a tease. But also convinced he sees the tease as foreplay. Also suspect there's a LOT more to the banker's back story--but we'll wait and see how/when/if that comes out. Interesting tale so far--gonna be fun to see where you go with this.
  4. Nice to see new relationships beginning. Now if only older brother could get out of the way/get taken care of! He's coloring everything, and the vibes aren't good. Looking forward to seeing how you develop these friendships--you've created some interesting characters!
  5. Think that Clayton and Ryan are truly examples of the line, "When it's right, it works". They're syncing up quite well together. And obviously, even Clayton's body is finally having its say. Glad you're enjoying the tale--THANK YOU for your comments!
  6. Glad you liked the chapter--there was a lot of "housekeeping" going on here, and the social worker summed up a lot of Joe and Rex's history well. And, obviously, the interest in the kids is the paramount thing. THANK YOU for reading through the story--I appreciate you and your comments!
  7. Thanks for the compliment! It WAS a rough chapter...but it always helps me to remember that steel is refined by fire--and they're getting their fire here! Thanks for reading and commenting!
  8. Glad you're here, Alexander! Lots to like...friendly folks, plenty of different story genres to read, and perhaps best of all, your voice is important--whether you're in chat or leaving reviews or likes on the stories you get into! Enjoy! Get ready for fun! You're gonna be wishing for more hours in the day--the wide variety of stories, the great quality of the stories, friendly folks, and the opportunity to leave your input makes this place unique; you're gonna be spending plenty of time here! Enjoy yourself, and welcome!
  9. Such a great vignette...and love the idea of the mix of historic characters with current. Hell, might even be a sequel story in there somewhere! <grin> Good job!
  10. Unfortunately, the rocker as portrayed (in that wood) is just a figment of my imagination. I'd found one several years ago made of mesquite (primarily a texas scrub-tree) and another in magnolia--but they were $1300 each! So our heroes got a bargain! Clayton's secret will be out pretty soon--maybe 3 weeks or so away, so keep hanging in on the story--and THANK YOU for sticking with it!
  11. Thanks for hanging in with the story!

    Chapter 3

Love this...after they finally get together, they finally get together! Tough situation, and gonna be fun to see how this all works out. Good job!
  13. Dad's certainly an interesting character...he's trying, but how much of his effort to reach his son is working? Doesn't soynd like much. And yet, if the boy would open up...well, me might have a stronger ally than he'd imagine! An intriguing chapter...well done!
  14. Nice start to the first day of school--at least until Paul steps in! And is there a bit of a "Stockholm Syndrome" going on here, where he's now enjoying being whored out/raped? Certain these questions will be answered shortly, but a fine job on the chapter in the meantime! Looking forward to the next!

    Chapter 43

Such a sweet part of the story--mixing in the wedding plans and batches or party really changed the plot's complection after dealing with the drama/horror of the AIDS sub-plot. And the positive news of the waiver of parental rights nicely offset the slimy feeling provided by mom's approach. (What a shame the boy recognized that his mom would negotiate for him like a piece of chattel!) A finely done, "balanced" chapter! Good job!

    Chapter 8

What an intense chapter! The psychological wrestling honing on, trying to recognize his own beliefs about his faith and about himself are both gratifying (because he's deciding for himself as a part of the growing up process) and exhausting ( because he has no real outlet and has to do it all for himself). It's a GREAT sign that he got his own clothes for his "new" life! You've done a great job showing the angst of this young life. Well-done chapter!
  17. There's really quite a difference between Clayton and Benoit, isn't there? I'm wondering if perhaps Ben's excitement at being picked up/having a wild fling with Benoit overwhelmed his normal expectations of someone who's relationship material like Clayton. Obviously, Ben is in WAY over his head, and with both Clayton and Dave working, perhaps he'll get the help he needs. Great, too, that Ryan's not threatened by any of this. THANK YOU for the comments--your support means a LOT!
  18. Defiance, don't know what happened here...I try to respond to all the input; for whatever reason, the system didn't notify me of yours! Sorry for the delayed response! It really IS remarkable what can happen when people working toward a relationship are open and honest--and there's plenty more ahead for our heroes as they bond more and more. THANK YOU for the input/comments. I appreciate it, and appreciate your hanging in with the story!
  19. Thanks for the comments! It IS remarkable what happens when people working toward a relationship really open up about who they are. There's more stuff ahead for our heroes. THANK YOU for the input!
  20. Gary, you're right--it IS a horrifying situation, with impacts that go far beyond just Ryan/Clayton/Ben! Hard to envision the lack of humanity someone like Benoit has, and yet we know those kinds of folks are out there. Thanks for the comments...I appreciate the support more than you know!
  21. Thanks, Skinny! Remarkable how quickly the guys have settled into a routine! And remarkable how much of a "community center" the local gay bar has become. Thanks for reading along--and the solid support! I appreciate you!

    Chapter 9

It's a touching flasback chapter, as both our heroes wrestle with their identities; I suspect their rooming together in the upcoming semister will do far more to clear the air. Good job here, covering a "routine" summer, but making the personal growth stand out. Looking forward to more!

    Chapter 17

Quick, someone break out the chorus of "I Saw the Light"...it's about damn time, Casey! Certain the next chapter will resolve that!
  24. Dad, you're right, they got a bargain--but the three fifty wasn't the real cost--the client that backed away from the purchase basically paid for the materials costs and initial labor with their forfeited deposit. They got the reduced amount because the owner was tired of working with it. Such a deal! Thanks for reading along and commenting. I appreciate you!
  25. Good job with what I'm hoping is the opening shot of an interesting tale! Loving the characters that you've already fleshed out pretty well (future chapters will give more, right?) and really enjoying the idea that the cat is going to end up narrating some of the story. Interesting perspective, and not certain I've read a plot using this device. Ok, buddy, get to work. You owe us more on this well-done start!
