I’ve heard it said that we are all “damaged” people in some way. It’s certainly proving true in this story. And what an interesting, if not provocative mix of new characters. I love the idea of a place for LGBTQ teens to hang out. It’s definitely a great stage for some interesting plot development. I’m pretty sure Ryder is going to be okay — but not necessarily on the morning after. Lucky for him he ended up with someone with a conscience.

Hahaha, my bad @D.K. Daniels. Guess I switch around your initials. I’ll try to be more careful in the future. Maybe I’m Just trying to follow too many stories at once! Anyhow, this one really is a great read. I think you would like it! Hope you’re enjoying your vacation.

Sometimes when I’m reading these stories, I wind up feeling a bit naive! I just don’t understand what’s going on with Shawn? Either he’s bisexual or he’s got a leather-tough stomach because it seems like it would be almost impossible to intimately kiss someone without at least a basic attraction. Jeremy’s behavior was definitely an interesting an unexpected plot twist — the mark of a good story. On the other hand, Callen’s motivation I understand — and Ryder’s too. I’m still hoping the two can forge a meaningful bond.

Life really is an uncertain path. Even when we think that we know where we’re going, sometimes we just end up somewhere unexpected! The development in Ryder’s fledgling relationship with Callen was definitely an unexpected and disappointing fork in the road. But that’s how it works sometimes, and I’ve never met anyone who can change their feelings. As Garret puts it: “It is what it is.” I really like the changing voices in the narrative. What a terrific way to get into the heads of multiple characters. It gives the story added dimension — and a lot more emotion. I’m trying not to binge-read this story @D.K. Daniels, but instead to savor every chapter. You’re not making that easy bud! Keep up the great work.

Guess I can’t add much more to all the very constructive things everyone else has posted. I totally agree with the sentiment that it’s great to see Ryder’s life taking such a positive upturn. It sounds like he’s hit a few bumps on lifes twisting road in the past, and hopefully his future will be brighter and more positive. Callen seems like a nice match for Ryder. I was sad to hear that Callen’s own mother rejected him for his sexual identity. It’s almost inconceivable that any parent is capable of doing that, but I know that it does happen — way too often! I really love the way this story is developing, and it’s nice to know that whatever demons Ryder is battling in his dreams, he has warm and wonderful people to support him in his life.

This is BEAUTIFUL. I read it twice. Great job @Parker Owens!

Nice story-line twist. Ryder and Callen on a blind date. I didn’t see that one coming, but I like it. Hope it all works out.

Jeremy is a terrific addition to an already great combo of characters. Should be really interesting to see how he and Garret get along. I’m still trying to figure out whether Garret is just a blowheart, or an out-&-out bully. Sometimes it’s tough to tell the difference. So far, I’m still giving him the benefit of the dought. The opening scene was really hot, even though I sorta knew it was a dream sequence while I was reading it. But if in fact, Shawn and Ryder do manage to hook up, you’ll hear no complaints from me.

My first impulse was to feel sorry for Ryder. He has obviously been emotionally damaged by something — or someone from his childhood. But he’s in a good place now, with two parents that chose to embrace him into their lives, and are not afraid to love and support him for who is. Every child should be so lucky. For me personally, this was a very powerful chapter! I may read it again before this day is over.

Okay, I totally admit that I really didn’t like the coach much at first. But what an amazing, three dimensional character he’s turning out to be. Tough but fair, wise, pragmatic, but not without a generous measure empathy and compassion — and totally supportive of his gay son! I don’t know too many father figures that can manage that, or would even try. This story gets more fascinating with each new chapter. And what a great plot! I’m not exactly sure why, but I love the fact that Ryder is an adopted Russian child who is actually fluent in the language. I think it gives him some extra added depth. Nice touch @KD_stories, a very nice touch!

Great chapter, full of heart and soul mixed with the foreboding of child abuse — an unpleasant, but all too real subject we all need to be aware of. I can only hope the cowardly SOB who mercilessly kicked Dylan gets what he deserves. Really enjoying this story. Thanks for all your effort and talent @KD_stories — and thanks for posting.

Your characters just keep getting more and more interesting and likable — even the hard-nosed coach. Great writing!

I nice beginning @KD_stories. Your characters are interesting and believable, and the dialog flows well. Really glad that you chose to post this story on GA. I’m looking forward to reading more — the mark of effective writing.

Chapter 92 Showing Some Skin
SolarMaxx commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 92 Showing Some Skin
WOW! What a roller coaster! I love the light horseplay among the boys during the first half of this chapter, and the dramatic change of tone when Alex shows up in pain. There are few things I despise as much as child abusers, and I hope they put Alex’s dad away long enough for him to dry-out, get some help and maybe even a little perspective. The connection between Nathan and Alex continues to intrigue. A very interesting plot development to say the least. -
WOW! Billy really IS growing up. I know a few adults that could learn a thing or two from Billy in terms of the mature way that he managed his emotions. I really loved this chapter Comsey. And I’m grateful that you’ve chosen to continue this story. Thanks for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated.

Chapter 91 Feeling the Heat
SolarMaxx commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 91 Feeling the Heat
This chapter had a somewhat unique “feel” about it — with a playful and satisfying mix of humor and suspense. I agree with @Israfil that “it’s awesome to see Robbie stand up for himself.” It’s been a lot of fun this past year to watch Robbie’s character evolve into the more mature and confident person he is now. I really hate bullies, and it seems like wherever the place, their presence is a universal constant. I believe many bullies ARE closet cowards, but some are just plain crazy! And sometimes you just have to take a beating. I’m really glad and relieved that Robbie was spared. Shifting gears just a bit; I just can’t see Daniel and Ginny going full throttle together — sounds like a match from hell to me — teenage hormones not withstanding of course. 😏 Can’t wait to see how it plays out. -
Chapter 90 Caught With My Pants Down
SolarMaxx commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 90 Caught With My Pants Down
I really love this chapter @Dodger. Sooner or later Robbie and Nathan were bound to get caught in a compromising position. Poor Daniel — sort of a trauma from his perspective. However, he seems to be hardy enough to get over it. And it’s really nice to see Rory back to in the story. I was beginning to think Robbie had lost his number too. In some ways, it’s too bad that Alex won’t be going to Niagara Falls with the boys. As volatile as he is, his presence always seems to spice up the mix. GREAT job, as always. -

Chapter 88 Throwing Your Life Away
SolarMaxx commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 88 Throwing Your Life Away
You make some excellent points @Dodger, and you’re right: My first impulse was to react negatively to Don’s homophobia, and his cleverly devious attempt to manipulate Robbie at a particularly vulnerable time in his young life. I do love the way the kids in the family are being so supportive. It’s definitely one of my favorite aspects of the story. -
Chapter 88 Throwing Your Life Away
SolarMaxx commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 88 Throwing Your Life Away
Once again Danial shines as a gem of a person, and a loyal brother to Robbie. Don, on the other hand, seems to have something sinister up his sleeve — like maybe sending Robbie to one of those creepy religious “sexual-corrective” schools I’ve read about. Helpless teens are signed into prision-like institutions, and isolated for weeks at a time against thier will, while being subjected to unthinkable “treatment” that oftentimes produces serious depression and self loathing in the victims! I personally would NOT want someone like Don to have legal custody of me, or anybody I care about. GREAT chapter Dodger! What a emotional roller coaster. And the dream was a nice touch! -
So few people, even on GA, seem to understand, or accept the complexity of being bisexual. Great chapter Hoodster!
-
I hadn’t considered that possibility @BlindAmbition— but it would be a nice twist. I like it!

Once again, alcohol soothes the savage — really glad it turned out that way. But how creepy it would be to have four adults openly discussing your sexuality when your just 15 years old, and in the same room with your boyfriend. I guess I expected this chapter to feel much more awkward than it turned out to be. What a wonderful use of humor to break the tension. It’s maybe starting to feel like Don is attempting to cope with Robbie and Nathan’s relationship! But he clearly is not accepting reality. Maybe he’s just not capable of it. I really enjoyed this chapter Dodger, and I plan to read it again in a week or so. It’s great!

This is an amazing chapter — vividly written and riddled with excitement! I couldn’t stop reading, even to answer my cell. I hope Perry is gonna be okay. He’s definitely a strong and likable character. But I’ve got a bad feeling that he’s about to get his ass kicked. Great job Hoodster. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

What a terrific story — with interesting and nicely developed characters. Perry is definitely a lot braver than I am because digital pics have a tricky way of popping up when an where they’re least expected! Can’t wait to see what happens next. Thanks for posting this chapter Hoodster.
