  1. What an intense chapter. I was really worried that Robbie might have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. I still don't trust Alex, who seems to only serve HIS own best interests. The sooner Robbie is out of that house, the better.
  2. All of a sudden the relationship between Teddy and Ryder is starting to make sense. I suppose sometimes opposites really do attract. This story is sensitivity, and credibly written. Nice job Ace. Definitely looking forward to reading more. Hope your taking some time to enjoy your summer!

    Chapter 3

WOW! Cal seems to be emotionally evolving at light-speed. Definitely seems like love is in the air. I love the chemistry in this story -- and I'm really enjoying the quality of the writing. Great job! Thanks for posting.
  4. Really sorry to hear that he's not doing well!
  5. Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water -- another great chapter! Well done Ace! You really are fast becoming a master story teller, and I remain an avid fan of your work.

    Chapter 2

I really like the way this story is shaping up -- with great characters, and articulate, sensitive writing. I'm hooked and looking forward to the next chapter!

    Chapter 1

The writing in this chapter is awesome -- vivid and expressive with an authentic sense of voice. Cal is an interesting, if not disturbing character, and I'm definitely interested in learning more about him. I guess maybe I'm fascinated by interesting and disturbing personalities! Great story-start Sam. Can't wait to read more. Thank you for posting this work.
  9. Sounds like cultivating a relationship with Ryder is going to be one hell of a challenge. Hope Teddy is up to it. Things seem to be looking up though. Teddy seems to be slowly chipping through the ice wall sorrounding Ryder. I love the way this story is unfolding. Great job Ace. Great chapter!
  10. WOW -- WTF! But I guess Don's reaction to Robbie is not entirely unpredictable. In my experience, father figures seem to have the biggest problem with their gay sons. Sometimes I think it's an personal issue of embarrassment, sense-of-failure and/or a derogatory reflection of their parenting skills. Somehow, in the course of reading this story, I've inferred that Don was a more enlightened, emoitionally balanced guy. Maybe that's just how I wanted the plot to flow. I was very disappointed in the way Don "chose" to handle circumstances, and I'm hoping he has a change of heart once he's had some time to adjust to the idea. I personally think that the way Robbie boldly stood up for himself is a testament to his evolving character. I hope the price he has to pay isn't bigger than life!

    Chapter 27

What an amazing story, artfully told, with a great ending! I just finished binge-reading it and I just couldn't wait to see how it would end. But now that it has, I wish There was more. I miss Silas already, and hope someday you decide to write a sequel. I'll definitely be first in line to read it. Thank you for all your effort and hard work Cynus. It's obvious from all the glowing comments that your story telling talents are much appreciated.

    Chapter 17

This story keeps getting better and better -- and the song lyrics was a beautiful touch. I hope Silas and friends can get to the bottom of the "Danial" mystery.

    Chapter 14

This is really a beautiful story, well written, with interesting and engaging characters. Great job Cynus. Thank you for posting this.
  14. I guess Danial's reaction is predictable. After all, first-learning that someone close is actually gay can be a shock, even if it has been suspected. I'm not sure why. I think it must be a learned response. I'm sure Daniel will come around in time, but in fairness to him, he has a lot of emotional blockades to work through. He continues to be one of my favorite characters, and in the end, I'm sure he will make whatever adjustments he needs to. Great chapter Dodger. I've really enjoyed this whole story. Thank you for all your hard work and sensitive thinking.
  15. You continue to impress Ace. This story has all the makings of another great one, with good characters and an interesting plot that's gaining momentum at an exciting pace. Really looking forward to reading more. GREAT JOB!
  16. When ever you post a new chapter, I usually drop whatever I'm doing and begin reading immediately. In this case I'm having a little trouble falling asleep after some late night celebrating. I really love this time of year -- graduation parties everywhere! The timing of your post was perfect. Another great chapter Dodger. Thank you, as always, for taking the time to write and post this story.

    Campfire Songs

Amidst a weather-nightmare, it rains diamonds on Saturn! Sometimes extremes yield amazing things. Rider appears to be a diamond in the rough, and with a little polish I think he's about to shine. What a great story concept with great characters. I'm especially crazy about Teddy's father -- and maybe a little bit jealous!

    Sorry?

Another great story Ace! You definitely have a way of building characters that seems both real and interesting. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your stories. Thanks, as always for posting.
  19. What a wonderful chapter Dodger! I got a sort of lump in my throat reading it -- particularly the last few paragraphs. It would be a much improved world if ALL parents were as loving and accepting as Sue. Unfortunately, it is just not so often enough!
  20. Nicely written Drew! You definitely have a talent.
  21. "Still water runs deep." The older I get, the more meaning that old cliche seems to acquire. It turns out that Ryder is a three dimensional person after all -- and a really interesting one. You never really know someone until you take the time. And most people, it turns out, are worth the effort! I really like the way this story is developing Ace. I admire your fire!
  22. What a terrific roller-coaster of a story. You had my heart racing! I'm very happy that Cy is safely home and out of the clutches of gang life! Really hope he can stay there and have the good life he deserves. This story dramatically reenforces a fundamental truth that I've basically always embrased: Under extreme circumstances, a person's true character -- for better or worse -- always rises to the surface. Cy is a true hero, and definitely one of my favorite characters. Great job Ace!
  23. Another excellent chapter Ace. It has excitement and drama, and some very interesting moments.

    Shellshock

Grandpa Frank is a gem -- another interesting character in your already fascinating cast! I love the bond forming between he and Cy. I've always had a soft spot for vets, and those who have seen hard battle often have amazing stories to tell -- if you can get them to open up.
  25. Another great chapter Ace! I literally grew up in the shadow of Chicago's south side, in a small town several miles from the Lake Michigan shoreline. I've heard lots of people speak in the same street-talk as Cy; but somehow seeing it in print gives the dialect a whole new significance! Even after hearing it all my life, I'm not sure in could write a story this convincingly. Cy's voice sounds very authentic -- that's probably why he's such a believable character. BTW: Nancy's father reminds me too much of my own! I got a definite chill reading this chapter. People like that always think they're superior and probably will never change. Good luck Cy -- you're going to need it!
