    First Patrol

The best analysis of the psychology of patrols I’ve ever read / heard!
  2. IBEX

    Orders

Decades later, and as an officer - I’m not so sure any longer I’d buy into that. A very complex question, possibly deeply personal - different from the wider political discourse, but certainly not part of this poignant story.
  3. This story vividly brings back memories long since considered forgotten. Different region. Different protocols. Exact same thing regardless.

    Straight Lines

Captivating. So well written, I can taste their feelings.

    New normalish

I feel like I need a family tree already. More names in the first 5hree paragraphs than my little mind can handle.

    Pillars

If Tag and Bert pool resources, they can outbid Zane. But how would they split/manage Eric‘s home and legacy? Put Eric in charge? Would Zane not be furious and react irrational when outbid - by his own, if exiled son? Would he mayhaps get on the phone and overextend his resources to desperately make the bid, for pride, and his unquenched thirst for more power? … would he throw in the parcels he doesn’t really own, in the heat of the moment, as collateral - only for it all blowing up in his face quite spectacularly?

    Chapter 19

Can’t wait for the next part! Love the machinations and intrigue! Lots of powerful women on our heroes‘ side!

    Chapter 13

You had me at the judgmental looking destrier!
  9. When, and where, did “Mannly“ come in?

    Prologue

    Atreus isn’t atrocius. He‘s a brat. There’s a difference.
  11. Going by the recent chapter titles, Mick has become quite the ARTful dodger! Dodging responsibility, and feelings….
  12. Most tragic. It seems Kyle has learned more in the last chapter than Mickey in his hole life. it’s nice to learn about yellow, the fox head, Wren…. A lot of sad backstory. Explaining much about Mick. Not excusing. There’s a difference.
  13. The anal fixation of folks fantasising about Alien abduction always got me! But then, the whole theme is more or less an US Obsession. No where else in the world are people thinking about UFOs, abduction with mandatory probing fantasies, and the like. Congressional hearings! -about the possibility, or better reality of Alien visits… give me a break! Ok, Kyles actually HAS been abducted, but still!
  14. ROFL! has Tripp started his ballroom yet?
  15. It seems that D is NOT compromised in any way. That should also apply to D10, right? And D20 should be able to communicate with D10 on an internal level / they are basically one entity, are they not? Which will be of great help one can imagine…
  16. I knew it! My training as xenomechanologist paid off, ”… a judgmental little gremlin in a giant robot body.“

    Chapter 17

If you are interested in this topic, you want to read John Boswell, Same Sex Unions in Pre-Modern Europe, (NewYork: Villard, 1994) and possibly follow up with Alan Bray, The Friend

    Chapter 16

If Rashid were logical, he’d have killed Khalid then. But not his father and Ishan…

    Spanish Politics

It feels this March had 8 weeks, at least! Wasn’t an earlier chapter already dated April 15th or such?

    Chapter 1

If I can’t get a Gremlin, a sassy drone is the next best thing!
  21. IBEX

    Chapter 18

Gremlin made my day. Daily. Miss him already!
  22. IBEX

    Chapter 4

Now Ashot starts sounding like Hughie. Not like a Gremlin / there’s a distinction!
  23. IBEX

    Chapter 16

Why is a Ferry coming in the next day though- when Nate only found one the day after?
  24. IBEX

    Chapter 15

    Gianluca’s choice becomes deeply unsettling

    Chapter 14

While Matteo struggles with reason and his conscience, Gianluca quickly departs painful reasoning, and replaces it with unproven, imported security, by invoking faith as reason. Reason enough to judge, to justify. Made up compliance with imaginary requests by a supposed authority. Preemptive obedience. A most dangerous condition. Easily melded into murderous complicity.
