Well, well…. that is all good and well! Yet, I do have a complaint! The author - of all people! - opined that a movie would hasten through any scene, lest it’ll be a waste of good film. Let me counter that today’s meager offering in virtual ink is certainly shorter than any movie version playing in my head now!

This Robert business was a lighthearted sideshow after the intensity of the duel, and it's looming aftermath. The Prince, always just a ring away, still has no idea what happened. Greg is atm usurping a Barony, and all the late Baron's official and private possessions. Acting more on a hunch of old "might is right" kind of assumed Vampire Law. He may or may not be right about that. So I look forward to all the politics that will ensue. How the next levels up, and down, in the Vamp hierarchy react. Their demands, expectations, misgivings and the like. Is the seating / confirmation of Greg as the new Baron Pittsburgh a prerogative of the Prince - or has the Viscount, and the Count a say in the matter? Jake is going through his change - and obviously something unexpected happens. I trust he'll heal just fine - so it's something else. An unusual eye color mayhaps?

i wonder when Greg's eyes will change their color again..... Also I wonder - I seem to do that a lot lately - how big house and grounds are? There's an awful lot of staff! And what is the size of the Barony? While George MIGHT have seen a clash between Greg and Evans coming - eventually, I can't see him anticipating an extrajudicial killing in this very night. So the unanswered phone is just plain bad luck - or good fortune. While a Barony in e.g. California would have made it easier to disappear from most local friends and acquaintances for Greg and the gang, this is a convenient location in many other ways. Just the gap till they take up residence at their various institutions of higher learning has to be plausibly filled with explanations.... Is the current plan to attend different Universities and the like in places far apart from each other still an option for the now seated court with a preexistent set of responsibilities?

Of course I am take by the mystery that is Emmet's true nature.... very fast, very magical, empathetic, incredibly rare/desirable, or such - and obviously rather prey than a predator himself. After eleven chapters I put UNICORN on my secret card...

Oh, a proper, premeditated killing in the offing! With some judicial background, to boot! It will take a while to get us there, to give it all a legal framing! After all, Barons can't just walk around killing other Barons - particularly not for actions covered by ancient vampire law! As reprehensible as they might be... I must say, I like the pace of this re-write much better. Not every chapter needs to be filled with fast paced action. But then, of course, chapters need to be longerer, and be published more frequenterer! Every reader knows this! While I am curious as to where Greg will eventually be seated (I'll relish in the pomp and circumstance of the ceremonies involved!) Theres so much still to happen till then. While school barely gets mentioned these days, the little Lords still have to graduate. Then the move to their respective colleges and universities, their accommodations, contact with Greek life...all will be quite exciting. And Greg has to maintain close contact with his Court, and prepare himself for his Barony.

Of course young Rocky dear would get a better insight into the inner workings of his potential new potentate, if they were to live the week in Manny's house. Nothing will get the guy out of the massive mansion, with indoor/outdoor pool, a garage full of fantastic cars, or whatever he'll experience... but I trust in his good core!

it sounds like poor Rocky made a lot of dosh. But his "friends" were only in for his wealth. But he remembered his first love, a happy go lucky guy, who didn't much care about appearances....or such. I wonder about the early demise of Mrs. Rocky. Following gay fiction protocol, if it wasn't another crash with a drunk driver, jackknifed 18-wheler, or plane crash, it has to be cancer. Anything, to pave the way for a good orphan lore... So Junior has been in foster care for a week now - wonder where and how he got sassy (and streetwise, as someone suggested)? I am sure we'll discover that our deadbeat slob still has a caring core under his literally crusty, and jaded current self? You have a handful of lucky cool beans - another one reeled in!

I suggest Scotland, Isle of Man, or Falklands then. Any foggy place with lots of rain seems to be a panacea.

Devin is a great risk for them. He likes to experiment, without fully considering possible consequences. He likes to help, which of course is fine, but not always getting physical is the only/necessary answer. He managed many years to change only occasionally at the cabin - and all of a sudden he has to do it DAILY! Get the guy a gym membership on campus to blow of steam! Besides a change from one species to another seems to go very quickly. So he could leave the house as e.g. a mouse in Mac's pocket, than change in the car into Bear, when there isn't another car next to them

They'll return home without a single picture of a Montana trip, or their supposed companions. Rather unbelievable, what with waterproof phones and action cams... Mac hasn't yet tried any birds, and I wager he'll want to try perhaps reptiles, but certainly a buffalo!

The opening stanza speaks of “entwining” three - and then of 1 wolf, 1 man, and 1 ‘shadow’. So there will Mark remain in a spirit plane / realm? Guiding the two fated on their quest? Will all three eventually be able to cross between planes? Would be fitting for a god, to not be constrained to our earthly valley of sorrows!

It seems the author is overly fond of “hafta”! Other than that, everyone speaks proper English. Even potty mouth Kyle utters his trademark f-bomb only occasionally!
