The Palma cathedral is commonly known as La Seu. Due to its volcanic origins the island boasts a lot of caves above ground and underwater. Plenty to explore there. Most easy going are the northern and central Europeans. Brits can be a bit snobby, but mostly vera amicable as well. Americans are famous for their entitled Karens (and Kens!) Russians vary greatly, between sober and drunk, Arabs like to totally ignore staff with an air of absolute superiority....enough of poor generalisations! But one often gets the idea that certain stereotypes and preconceptions might have roots in reality.... Like our dear Carlos so beautifully described, charters are usually booked through brokers. Detailed questionnaires, having been filled out by the guests, will be forwarded to the ship with an APA - advance provisioning Allowance. A downpayment for food and drinks to be bought at the guests directions. These will be ordered through agents. The agent in any given port is available 24/7 for any, and everything. taxi, provisions, tickets, tours, green times, decorations, whatever goods and services are needed. Like 100 white roses at 3:40am to make up again after a little domestic spat...you get the idea. Kids are not a rare occurance, and are often looked after more by the crew than their parents... The stove is gimballed, so cooking is of course possible at an angle of heel. But all surfaces like salon or dining tables are also inclined, so one tries to sail as upright as possible during meal times, or serve finger food. I love how Carlos always perfectly sets the mood and the cast!

Hey! I would love to see the story continued! I developed a hankering for a special birthday!

Since I binged the whole saga up to two chapters back, I am now like a fish out of water....the chapters trickling in at snail pace. And of course feel much too short! But what an intense pleasure and visceral joy is each new installment! Ever since I happened across Dorothy Dunnett's Nicolo Saga years ago, I am hooked on historical fiction. And Granger's adventures surely are amongst the very best of them!

Painful enough to get on even footing with his brothers. But re-educating Loren has to hurt. Hurt something bad....poor Jay

It's interesting that Dani talks/thinks as if he already knows all/the full extent of his powers - and knows how to use and control them with precision. (unless - with the long intervals between too short chapters *hinthint* - I've missed something important, Dani is still pretty clueless and definitely inexperienced... I am like all others here most interested to get more of a story about Dahlia and her connection to Danis. Is she his mother? And of course I cannot wait to see what his coming of age is going to bring. A pity he is forced to make a decision post haste, even before this important date. It seems he would only be ill, or at best half prepared for any battle the Carandinis want him to fight in on their behalf. Why are they rushing this? From what we could glean their plans so far are half baked at best. No clear plan on HOW to take over - the proposal on the table has only been hatched after the little stung of Demetrius and Dani! And there is no plan on how to proceed after the *little* killing spree... pretending to leave it all to Dani to figure out is most disingenuous...

Nothing against a good round of Don-bashing..... but for quite a while I think Robbie is one that needs help just as well. His constant need to be confrontational have always been working against him, his interests and relationship. Also he never lost his anger issues...and it's getting worse, not better over time.
