  1. So, to summarize: POST, but don't PUBLISH, everyone. Then, send the not-yet-published story link to @Valkyrie!
  2. Aged cheese? Wait, that's my dad.
  3. Wait, but do we publish them tonight, too? Why is this confusing me more? 🤣
  4. Sorry, I had to.

    In The End

Oh, they are nothing alike, believe me. Zero concerns over their abilities being anything alike. The only thing I would say is you both are reigning rulers of angst, bloodiness, and traumatic writing. King and Queen respectively, and even the writing style and delivery there are completely different. 🤣
  6. Oh, I did, believe me. 😅 I just haven't sat down and said what I thought yet. I think The Black Aura was the last one I was able to binge a while back.

    In The End

The moment I started reading this one, I immediately thought of @Rambling Robin's Prophylaxis (which if you haven't read I highly, highly recommend). Not because anything of this is close at all to that story, but because the MC happens to have psionic abilities. As a matter of fact, how uniquely and creatively you depicted this MC's abilities and life was so impressive to me. I really liked it.
  8. Of course I followed this one after The Boy in the Porch. I didn't want to sympathize with those awful parents, but it was still interesting to see how it all began and how misery loves company. Worse yet, how much damage two twisted individuals can dole out, let alone a third.
  9. OK, so when I read this one, I remember not knowing where this was going at all. I was not expecting an enlightened race of beings. I was expecting the descriptions of those beings even less. But, by that point I was just glad they were all okay. 😆
  10. I meant all the other stories I read but haven't commented on yet. Just give me a bit. I just caught up on my work and have a little time. 😉
  11. I like to comment as I am reading because whenever I read something in one or two sittings, I feel guilty for not having said anything (especially if I'm binging things in one go). This was one of the ones I read through so fast because of the wild drama and incredible characters. Your writing style is...how should I describe this? Like you are reading the juiciest gossip column that also happens to be a newspaper article that also happens to be a crime time documentary. 🤔It's graphic and bloody and angsty and traumatic balanced by heartfelt bonds and moments of sheer triumph and love. But most of all it has an addictive pacing that isn't too rushed or too slow, it wavers, but it's in this goldilock zone of perfection.
  12. OMG @wildone, if @Lee Wilson had a 700k + story by itself I would weep for an entire day and it would take me months to years to finish reading (oh sh*t, did I just admit I've been secretly reading his work without commenting? Lemme go hide.)
  13. You can do it @northie!!! Always think short and condensed for events!! Oh wait, that's mostly me talking.
  14. WHAT? But I was so looking forward to reading yours!! 😱 Maybe you can save what you had planned for another event? Or just post it whenever you finish anyway!! Then, let me know so I can read.
  15. Canada post is on strike??? 😱
  16. Just sitting here drowning in my own drool just imagining all that.
  17. I already have mine on.
  18. Yes. This. Hope you have a good holiday weekend, Ben!
  19. Status Update: So, I love my friends to death. Would do anything for them. But they sure take the fun out of Thanksgiving. 🤣 They don't do turkey, and I'm fine with that. But their docs also warned them to cut back on the ham, so we can't have honeyed ham either!! I'm not opposed to BBQ chicken and Mac n Cheese, but I never thought I'd miss stuffing and my cousin's sweet potato casserole with melted marshmallows. Worse yet, what I chose to bring is not healthy either. They're Thanksgiving-themed macarons (which isn't even technically a thanksgiving food, either, so I can't even judge). 🤣Fun times.
  20. Ha ha. Not Ben getting done before me. I'm not crying just a little right now. 🥲
  21. Happy Birthday!!
  22. And then there are people like me, trying to write something that should probably have been a novella and compressing it until it's as short as humanly possible.
