  1. Here's a true story. Our not quite 4 year old grandson had this conversation with his mother while they were driving through town: Mom: You cannot put your hands out the car window. Boy: Yes, I can! Mom: No, you cannot. Boy: I am calling my attorney.
  2. Bridget and Billy showing up in Australia was the big surprise for me. She is even more determined than I realized.
  3. It would be ironic if the objective for killing Trevor no longer exists. Are the bad guys so beside themselves with worry over what the hidden papers might reveal and so angry with Trevor for surviving earlier attempts on his life that they have lost all objectivity?
  4. smeuse (Defintion: hole in a hedge or wall)
  5. Dan Hanratty's Belovéd has characters who are members of a rather liberal branch of the Episcopal Church, including a gay priest. It's a great love story.
  6. It is true, B G. I uncovered that fact several years ago and there was a forum discussion then. If I find the link, I will post it in this thread.
  7. onomatophobia (Definition: fear of hearing a certain word)
  8. estiferous (Definition: producing heat)
  9. Hey! Don't say that! Amphibian assassin.
  10. Thanks, John. You are a saint.
  11. Pretty sure I am. Congratulations, BTW, on your 4,500th post.
  12. I've now had the pleasure of beta reading "Queen's Gambit Accepted". (Others are still editing and proofreading.) It almost didn't happen. CJ's SWS was still in play when he "sent" me the e-mail. He forgot to attach the file I was to read. You should ignore any response he makes to this revelation. I have to be careful how I say this so I won't spoil the chapter for anyone, but there was a big surprise in it for me and I think everyone will be surprised when they read it. At least, none of the speculation posted in the story thread comes close. Cliffhangers aren't the goat's only forte.

    Happy Birthday, Yang!
  15. Yay! A most excellent spoiler!
  16. NO! You wouldn't!
  17. I was working out at the gym when I spotted a sweet young thing walking in.... I asked the trainer standing next to me, "What machine should I use to impress that young lady over there?" The trainer looked me over and said, “I would recommend the ATM in the lobby.”
  18. I finally got around to reading Purpose. The calendar makes no allowances for a tax accountant. Thanks, Andy, for another great story. I'm not a great fan of fantasy, but you used the most important of human emotions to hold my interest so that I had to read it all. Purpose is entertaining, exciting, and touching. Reflecting on the story, I think it shouldn't be a great surprise that a prosecuting attorney would write about vengeance being meted out to criminals who otherwise escape justice. Could it be that Gar/Will/Purpose is an alter ego fantasy?
  19. ictus (Definition: stress in poetry or verse)
