  1. The room was round, thirty feet in diameter and had neither doors nor windows. Tristan was sure he had opened a door seconds before, but then he had arrived here. The walls were red and earthen, though they had been shaped by intelligent hands and not through natural means. Tristan’s eyes were drawn toward the pool in the center of the room, a raised well several feet above the floor filled with white water. It radiated warmth, and as he approached the pool he began to sweat. He had never pe
  2. After the brutal loss of several of their number, the remnants of the Icarus Confederacy attempt to pick up the pieces. A mysterious dream points Tristan in a new direction, and what was once thought lost may still yet linger.
  3. A very merry day of existence to you, Gary.
  4. Do you count The Young Turks and The Daily Show as traditional media? If not, then no, I don't consume news via traditional media. The person below me likes comedies.
  5. I've lived that life before, yes. I'm flexible as to what hours I keep, and I'm fond of both early mornings and late nights, so it really depends on my work schedule. The person below me has worked for the government.
  6. Peter heard the sound of growling and scratching, though it seemed muffled and distant. He couldn’t put his finger on it, especially since it seemed quite odd that the sound would continue with such regularity considering the distance they had traveled already. But then as he paused briefly to consider the noise, he realized that it was coming from inside his own skull. And then he sensed a direction that the noise was pulling him, and he took an involuntary step in that direction. He paused
  7. A significant number, actually. They sell them everywhere in Korea, and I bought a bunch when I lived there. The person below me considers themselves fashionable.
  8. Not a lot, but I do enjoy them. The person below me prefers taking the train over a car.
  9. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It's the book that gave me the courage to leave the religion of my youth in search of a spiritual path more fitting to my nature. Same Q.
  10. True, but I haven't been diligent at it in several years. I've studied a number of arts, and I found that each had something important to teach me. The person below me has a passion for learning.
  11. Not yet. It's certainly on the list, though. The person below me knows a martial art.
  12. A very merry day of existence to you, my friend.
  13. I find there is beauty in every culture if one chooses to look. I'm a fan of those who are unashamed to be themselves, and there are many such people in Goth culture. So, yes, although I am not a follower of it, or a participant. The person below me has traveled to Asia.
  14. Yes on the perfect job. I'm well on my way, I think, to becoming a professional writer. And yes, I love swimming. The person below me loves talking over a cup of coffee.
  15. I used to be, but that has become less important to me in the last couple years as I've grown to detest my job. The person below me likes what they do for a living.
  16. If you count the little dried ones they eat as side dishes in South Korea, then yes. I've had plenty. The person below me likes eating exotic foods. (Exotic to them)
  17. If you're referring to forming meaningful connections with people, yes. I tend to run away from commitment. If you're referring to making conversation, then no. I think I do that fairly well, though I hate loud crowds... The person below me didn't fit in during school. (I was actually responding to Valkyrie's, but my response is still perfect for yours, C. When, I think.)
  18. I'm sorry to hear that. My sensei, the man whom I credit with keeping me alive through the worst period of my life, succumbed to cancer when I was 19. It's a nasty killer.
  19. Not conflicted. I am a retired fighter of many years, and I try to follow the path that many Samurai did when they took up the path of Zen. While I do not think violence solves every problem, and in fact solves few, it is sometimes the most effective answer. Never watched and Game of Thrones, though. The person below me likes studying theology.
  20. Sometimes. The person below me prefers hot drinks to cold drinks. Not sure if that was a reference to mine or C. When's, haha!
  21. I'm sure in some aspect of my life, but not overly so. The person below me likes to play with fire.
  22. The cellar door opened with a loud creak, and a shot was fired from deep inside. The group dove for cover, all except for Jacob who stood tall and angry at the top of the staircase that led down within. Another series of shots came his way, but these hardly distorted Jacob’s ghostly form as he started down the steps, his eyes burning with unspeakable rage. He saw them then; five soldiers crouching behind overturned tables for cover. This was a makeshift mess hall for the troops that were sta
  23. Between the speed skating and the holiday, you bet I have! The person below me wonders why we have to work so much.
