    Chapter 13

That baker is still in business but if Jim decides to compete, the baker will be in trouble. One thing about Jim, he knows his limit and how to capitalize on them. A difference between a baker and a chef.

Yes, Donny deserved that extra piece of pie. I think Donnie will always be with Jim. Something clicked between those two, maybe it was because Donny was the first.

Jim is very glad Andre came back. When two people have the same instructor they are on the same web page, so to speak. Jim knows Andre capability because they have the same teacher. All pluses for Jim and Andre

    Chapter 12

They will be okay. If you remember Jim had an extension built on the garage, that is where his kitchen and the boy's study room is located. On top of that addition is where the bedrooms are.Think of it like a house with attached garage. Jim made sure that the rooms were comfortable. Yes, hopefully Jim's story will encourage others to look kindly on these street children.

    Chapter 13

I had Dominic reconstruct the room that Denny and Donnie occupied. I wanted the area made it into two bedrooms with the hallway that connected them to the bathroom. Since the rooms were empty, Dominic started right away on separating the room. The rooms over the delivery van garage was completed and I was ready to move in as soon as the furniture I ordered was delivered. The extension on the kitchen, including the rooms on the second level, would be starting the coming Monday. The piles hav

    Chapter 12

You're right, it would be a better world. I always wonder if we are being tested. There was an older woman in our small town, she always had a kind word for everyone and for those who came from a poorer home, she had a cookie, or a piece of clothing, I know she washed many faces, offering her cookies and sometimes a small glass of milk. You don't have to adopt a child to show you love them. Children, of all ages, are God's gift to mankind, they need to be treasured. Sorry, I got on my soapbox

yes. you need to try it once and you may find that some of the food is a little like the food you are eating at home, with an American twist. Many of our foods are an adaptation of food from other countries. When I traveled I always tried food that I never ate before like turtle innards which were boiled in Japan, but only once.

    Chapter 12

All stories should be about coming from evil to good. We need to feel the pain and hurt and know that can be better if we find a place of safety. Life is like that

    Chapter 12

What a relief Johnny must have felt. It would be like staring death in the face to be saved by an Angel, Donnie. Tears of relief, of safety, of a future.

    Chapter 12

Graduation day Andre received his culinary degree, Donnie and Denny received their degrees in accounting and computer science, I hosted a party for them and their families and friends. Jake had one more year to go before he graduated. He told me that he’d like to be a teacher. I told him he should then work towards his masters degree. Paul had finished his undergraduate degree and was almost finished with his masters degree. He was heading toward a pHD in mathematics. That's summer a lot of

    Chapter 11

I'm sure you know that if you have a stake in a business then you work extra hard, you don't say, "I'll let the boss handle that." Jim is an encouraging boss, thanks to those qualities instilled in him by his parents.

Yep. It seems that the boys took over and became involved. I think Jim is having an easy time. If you ever have French fries with the skin on, you'll never go back.

    Chapter 11

Overall the business was doing well. Our catering business provided a little extra that we used to buy kitchen equipment and perhaps upgrade some of our food truck offerings. Donnie told me that we had one customer on Friday evening that recently began to buy two extra lunches and two extra meals. “You don't think he eats all that food at one time?” “No but I'll bet he buys that food for his weekend meals. He probably lives alone.” On the following Friday I watch Donnie as he se
