  1. I honestly am not so sure how other fantasy books handle their world-building. I kinda skim over it and just follow examples. Haven't had a chance to hunt down an editor for this series, though, so that's a trial. And I'm glad you see my characters as diverse. I plan to flip them around in turmoil like a sadist. Mwagaghahaha!
  2. I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself. This is something I'm striving to polish on my own, since I don't have an editor at hand.

    Prologue

This feels like my own mother.
  4. CHAPTER 5: Drawing the Line Arden tended to the people and even made a few daytime house calls the next three weeks. He wasn't sure how but he never crossed paths with the Knight-Commander. He suspected Roland had something to do with it but he hadn't seen much of him at the time. Arden hoped he wasn't in much trouble. He hadn't been able to visit the Mages' Hall since his first visit because he found himself tangled with the local charity and his own semi-clinic. He spotted Templars every now
  5. It's more like a prequel to my webcomic WHo'd Have Known. http://tapastic.com/series/1910 I'm working on the story, still. The comic will travel to Noel's past to decipher what exactly went down. I'm glad you liked my writing, though.
  6. Noel woke up with a start, jerking in his bed against the bright, white light. Just as he raised his limbs, he felt straps around his wrists hold him down. Fear shot to the surface of his mind, and the only logical reaction he could muster was to scream. The door to the pale white room was kicked open. There stood a familiar face: Lieutenant Pierre Ivans, affectionately Piers. The man was in his fatigues, worry painting his face as he ran to his side, resting a calming hand on his shoulder as
  7. Noel is hurt from an attempted murder, and his family decides to deliver a brand of justice all their own.
  8. CHAPTER 4: A Visit to the Hall The sudden letter from Sven puzzled him, the request even moreso. Why was a traveling doctor suddenly the interest of the Hall, and the many nobles in hightown at that? It didn't make sense. Were doctors really considered so scarce? He supposed a few clinics couldn't really manage the whole city. The thought of it was unnerving. The arrangement was given promptly. He and Arden would meet at the port a few hours after daybreak. What did the Hall know about Arden?
  9. Who tended to a doctor? You wouldn't think a thief would. A familiar face rushed to the doctor's limp side as he stared daggers at the guardsman. “What the bloody fuck are you doing?!” The guardsman stammered and stuttered dumbly, suddenly embarrassed with himself, still angry at the courtesan, guilty for hitting the doctor who helped him before, and many other emotions rushing through his head. He desperately sought balance but couldn't find it. That was when the male courtesan steeped up and

    Bluntly

    Oh the foreshadowing!
  11. Yeah. Still practically counts as a teen, maybe on the borderline.

    Bluntly

CHAPTER 2: Bluntly Arden never knew how much he missed a soft, luxurious bed and now he felt a bit sad to leave. But if he got too used to luxuries, well, he'd be suffering for it. A backpacker couldn't afford to spoil himself, especially when he had a duty to tend to the wounded and ill. He left the estate at the break of dawn and watched the sunrise from a stairs that led to the marketplace. It had a certain angle that brought out the light from the archway that led to the stairs down to lowt
  13. I found some really heart-warming and sexy gems on Nifty. I also found some that are hot, taboo, but sweet, and you can imagine my internal struggle. Should I post about them? Like Vlog or Blog about them? On the one hand, it could be fun. On the other hand, it might not be entirely welcome. I'm reading a lot of romantic and raunchy crap and I'm easily roused. The feelings are driving me up the wall. Any inputs are welcome.

    AID Me

I don't know if this affected me because I'm HIV+ myself or if I'm a bit of a sap. ANyway, this thing tugged at my heart. Would I say great read? Maybe if I liked sobbing in the corner. But yeah, this was good work.
  15. CHAPTER 1: Seething Curiosity Mages had been long feared for their immense, potential power. Captain Roland Gallahad understood that. People feared power. But watching a young mage shoved around to a prison coach was hardly ethical, even for the Templars. But as mages, they fell under the enforcement of the Templars and the Magi. This case was, however, not without good cause. They just raided a factory and the mage reluctantly fought back. It was through his urging he was spared and to be s
  16. Rumors of a traveling doctor spread like wildfire throughout Bosefestung, and Arden Grey finds it harder to maintain a humble presence. He gains the attention of the Templar and Mages Hall, half the nobles in the city, the city-state's Guard-Captain, and the city's Underground. Since when had serving the sick and wounded become so complex?
  17. That sounds really intense. Time to look over my work again.
  18. I'm going to visit my pal in another not-so-faraway city and stay only for a few hours, cramming what I can with him because of mutual time restraints. Sound hectic? Definitely. If I can I'd be doing a podcast or a vlog, then a quick Let's Play of a Dating Sim which I hope will come through smoothly. Getting this all done to gather resources for editing into videos. Also I'm gonna make sure he sees some of my written works. Should be a fun day tomorrow. SHOULD BE. It's really hard to manage a webcomic, a Youtube channel, and a blog, and writing all in one go when your family is so against you writing, drawing, and being gay. Even harder when you still believe in God and doubt yourself and half of everyone you meet. I need therapy. But maybe after I execute my evil plan of succeeding in life doing my passion of creating things. But that aside, I should probably start a more customized blog soon, but might have to settle for the cheaper ones that let you code. I know blogspot is a bitch but they let you mess with the interface code. It's either that or Tumblr. I'd also have to plan what tags to use for easy navigation, and see which one can at least let me earn or improve my YT Channel earnings. I'm plotting too much. Time to nap. Bye. If you have any questions, let me know. I'll get back to you. Thanks for reading my lunatic ramblings.
  19. And it helps give you an idea of what to use. I even forgot the more basic words at one point, which is bizarre all on its own.
  20. Why not improve your writing with some vocabulary? These were useful to me. Credit: (I'll edit this once I find the proper sources. Help is appreciated. I found these long ago, tumblr lurking.) NOT MINE, FOR SURE.
  21. Prompt 430 - Creative You hate blind dates and avoid them like the plague. Unfortunately, you didn’t find yourself a date for one of the most important events you company is holding. When your boss finds out, she says she has the perfect date for you. When you ask she simply says your date is “something special.” What is your blind date like? ============================================================== I was never a big fan of dating. Somehow, romance had become something of a bleak fantasy

    Prologue

Just needs a few touch-ups here and therewith spelling (spoted "all most" when I think you meant 'almost'). But the Prologue got me intrigued. Definitely will follow.
  24. I'm glad you cited those examples. Gives me something to look further into.
  25. So, vampires and werewolves used to be the thing of horror, but slowly they're more in lore and become less 'scary' depending on the writer. In fact, I think their sub-genre goes into Paranormal more often than not, right next to ghosts. I have to ask, though. Where is the line drawn, though? Labels (or tags) can be pretty hard to apply, since works can be rather flexible. When would you jot something down as Horror? When it actually gets frightening or disturbing (or gory)? When does it fall to paranormal or fantasy?
