    Chapter 1

Don’t forget that Brian went back to the original timeline, and neither Davey nor Sean had talked much about it. So the best comparison here was Davey’s first Do Over. Brian’s going to have to piece it together.

    Chapter 17

In this timeline, as a nominee, and the circumstances of the 9/11 failure and the coverup being exposed ten days before a national election? It wasn’t inconceivable. He wouldn’t have needed 80 percent, necessarily (LBJ managed to demolish Barry Goldwater by 63% while Reagan actually had to deal with a independent centrist candidate in 1980, and a Labor Partylike Democratic Party in 1984.) And some of the other Presidents (Madison and Monroe) were elected overwhelmingly even though complete national popular votes tallies were never determined (and was during a period in American political history known as “The Era of Good Feelings.” But the point was that in that timeline voters were repulsed by the behavior of the incumbent and his administration, and the behavior of the Vice President. So acknowledging the overwhelming loss by pardoning Davey in the process simply demonstrated the need to save that party’s future by “doing the right thing.”

    Chapter 16

I use iPads for almost all of my work and relaxation these days. I still have four different browsers on both iPad (Firefox, Safari, Google, and Edge) and all four have that font color feature for posting, including the automatic setting. I have an iPhone, with three of those browsers, and the same thing. I have my browsers and the os in dark mode as well. Less eye strain.

    Chapter 16

Because of my sensitivity to bright white light, that generally not a option, especially since the automatic color setting is at the top of the posting box for every post. That’s even easier.

    Chapter 16

Just remember the theory of jury nullification. The jury decides not to convict, finding the defendant did the right, if not legal, thing.

    Chapter 16

Can you please use the auto color option for your text color? You’re using black, and it’s totally unreadable for those of us who use dark mode. It’d be appreciated!

    Chapter 8

Worthington, now that he knows government mages attacked twice, is going to be far more careful and he now knows what to look for. He’s got to solve the Colin puzzle, though.
  8. Beloved isn’t a sequel, but certain characters from Working It Out did make a cameo.
  9. This trilogy is outstanding. It,s been a decade since Don finished the trilogy, and his successor story, Beloved, is just as outstanding as wll.
  10. These days, you'd have to ask Myr, and obviously he's busy with the forum software upgrade right now. Hopefully someone will get an answer for you. (I'd like to know that myself actually.)
  11. As did Working It Out, this story also deals with some religious contexts made all the more interesting by the rapidity of real world events that out paced Beloved, which was first posted about the time Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was elected as Pope, and about the time Proposition 8 was adopted by referendum. Now, of course, Francis is now Pope, and Same sex marriage was held constitutional last summer in the Obergefell decision, and Don has subtly handled the real world changes without having to revise or rewrite the story. It does show what a masterful storyteller Don is, and I always look forward to the next chapter!
  12. It's also possible the differences are due to the shift in the timelines. I believe there's one count where there are at least seven or eight timelines between the novels of the entire saga, if not more.
  13. Cvrboy has just sent out the following as part of his site update notification: This is very sad to hear because Jack's stories were always worth reading.
  14. It's been a couple of years, and it's been quite a while since Jack posted anything in the forums, so I thought I would ask if anything is coming down the pike? I've always look forward to your stories and I'm hoping there will be something new from Jack to read before too much longer.
  15. As far as I know, the story has reached chapter 30 of the second book, Life Goes On, but no new chapters have been posted this year. Eggman has a second story going on as well using some of the characters in an alternate reality, that have posted this year, so he's still breathing. As far as I know you can join his Yahoo Group that he uses for sending out alerts for new chapters when they are posted, and that is one way of knowing when that happens. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theglassonionnews
  16. Don releases chapters first to Nifty, and then gets them to G.A. after that. The best way to know when a new chapter has been released is to sign up for Don's Yahoo Group. WorkingItOut, which he uses as a mailing list to announce new chapters.
  17. Come on now, you know perfectly well that if AP says "10" or "15" now, it'll end up being 20 or 25 when it's finally written. I can recall a time years ago when AP said Crosscurrents was going to be no more than 25 chapters.
  18. Oddly enough, I sort of fell back into that universe without needing to go back to the earlier stories in the series, or at least not yet. Wonderful to see some familar faces right off.
  19. There's one film none of y'all have mentioned, and its aired periodically on one of the Starz channels (in fact it aired this evening) -- The War Boys (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1070887/ (that's the IMDb page on the film).
  20. I believe the site software was being updated yesterday, and the site was offline during that process. (I saw the message when I tried to check GA forums last night._
  21. Adam, As one of those few who read that Prologue when you first posted it, w-a-a-a-a-y back when, something just occurred to me about it that I don't think I have ever seen pointed out. The Prologue shows what Andy was thinking at the beginning of that "weekend" of reflection and remembrance when he arrives at the condo at the beach, there's not a thing in it that definitely states what Andy is thinking at the end of that weekend, In fact, we, the readers, don't even have a clue as to what Andy is even thinking yet at the end of that particular weekend, although those first paragraphs of the story might have implied to a casual reader that the reasons for the whole "reflection" thing would still be the same as that weekend came to a close. Maybe those reasons and expectation change by the end. I'm not going to say any more than that because I'm not a mind reader. But as a story-telling point it is something a reader should keep in mind, even if it does take almost a decade.
  22. From what I understand, Don isn't up to speed on the process to post chapters after the migration here to the GA Stories platform, and he wasn't able to post Chapter 49 when he released it. Maybe one of the admin here can get in touch with Don and work the problem out.
  23. Doug, Adam had this link posted elsewhere, and while I don't know if this is the re-posted copy of the postscript or not, it does work, or did when I found it a few moments ago. Postscript to ISWB
  24. I did read the chapter, but my mind was distracted by the events of the week. One of those weeks which proved the adage that truth can be stranger than fiction, or in this case, the news can be. I think Evan doesn't really know what he wants, other than a change. Scotty doesn't know whether Evan would be friend material or not, and I get the impression he's not sure that he wants to be the rebound relationship type, either. And I suspect Rocco and his boys aren't quite done in this story, either.
  25. Oddly enough, Jack, I use the site's notifications, and since I subscribed for updates to the story, I found it with no problems. A few chapters back I predicted a kidnapping would happen. Check. You said Scotty would be back. Check. And Marv is a pussy in the worse for him sort of way.
