    Chapter 1

Aw, thank you for sharing those wonderful times with your Thunder. He sounds like a great dog! There is such a wonderful bond. As kids, we were not allowed pets. My father wouldn't allow it. i lived on the street from 16 to my early 20s. After i got away from that life, i met my Husband. He had a little white poodle mix. i loved that dog; i'd never experienced anything like that. i'm grateful for his unconditional love and his joy. Thank you for reading this short story, drsawzall. i appreciate it very much.

    Chapter 1

Thank you very much. Thanks for reading. There was a long stretch during the lockdown here and then the next year that i didn't write much. i'm grateful I've been able to finish this piece. I've got 20 chapters of another story i'm trying to edit now and a few more chapters to write. i really want to get that one done and posted in case this good period i'm experiencing is temporary.

    Chapter 1

i'm glad too .. i'm a seat-of-your-pants kind of writer, so i don't usually know how a story will end until i'm about half or three-quarters the way through. Thank you for reading and for leaving a comment, scrubber6620. Much appreciated.

    Chapter 1

Master Dog Day 1 It was stormy but not at all dark yet. Threatening clouds were moving overhead, and the sun was starting to abandon its post when I noticed the dog. He wasn't what you'd call pretty. One of its erect, triangular ears was mostly missing, and I could see a few scars from where I sat. Been around the block a time or two, huh, pooch? I rubbed the scar on my arm. It was one of many, but it still bothered me the most. It was thick and ropy; it hadn't healed well

    Master Dog

Dogs are man's best friend. Can one stray change Adan's life?
  10. i'm sorry to hear this. it's so hard these quotes arrive in my email ... often they arrive at the right time .. my FiL is being moved to another hospital today, Princess Margaret to their palliative care floor. He won't be coming home again. So this one has a lot of meaning for me too. So maybe the universe is listening. i'm hanging in there with you @kbois xoxo

  16. How sad. i'm sorry to hear of your loss. You have some beautiful memories, which i know are not a replacement for the real thing. i wish your family peace at this difficult time.

  18. While i've not gotten Covid, it did a number on me and lots of others, too, i know. This week i managed to write and post a poem, the first in what 2 years? I am so very nearly finished with Kidnapped (working title) ... i have edited the first 6 chapters and finishing writing chapter 20. I will finish it. i was inspired to after events in the last week. my FiL has cancer he's been fighting it for over a year now, and on Saturday, my MiL called and said that he'd like to see everyone. So, we all went down to the Toronto Western, where he has been for the past 8 weeks. There's been just so much ... small strokes, catheters, chemo, rehab, a lot of discomfort and pain and so much more. My MiL spends each day there at the hospital. Often from 9 am to 11 pm, comforting and helping him. Due to Covid we cannot visit his room. But he has a super wheelchair, and he came down to the very big lobby/food court. I'd seen him last at Christmas time. He was thin, but on Sunday, he was not the same man. Skeletal is the best word i can think of. He barely knew us but would brighten now and again. He's on a lot of medication. i watched my MiL roll him in and my heart just broke. This profound sadness washed over me and i couldn't see how he'd come back from this. They cannot give him more chemo and he's in no way healthy enough for rehab. They are looking for a hospice that is pet friendly so his sweet cat can visit. He wants to go home or at least get out of the hospital so he can see her. Why am i telling you all of this? i realized that life is so fleeting. My attempts to end my own wasn't enough to show me that. i decided that i need to make changes. i need to finish things that are important to me. i need to stop worrying about things that i cannot change; that are not my a fault. I need to work less, which is going to happen, in the next 6 months or less, i hope. .. NO! i don't hope.. it's going to happen. i will either work part time or not at all. I'm a good writer ... i have 3 good stories that are nearly done and I'm going to finish them. Here's a small scene from chapter 6 of Kidnapped: Thanks for reading. Now get out there and live. xo
  19. They look super. They only need ice cream sandwiched in there.. But they are nice on their own for sure.
