  1. Makes sense. i'm sure the hot choc has sugar, you couldn't drink it otherwise. We usually have a decaf coffee in the afternoon. i used to have to sweetner but i've stopped using anything in tea or coffee other than some milk/cream. i do have some amazing hot choc powder and i have one now and again. This stuff: It's sooooo good. Gourmet Village makes lots of diff flavours and a sugarless version. i bought a bunch of these last year to give out as xmas gifts.. i have one now and again!
  2. Yeah. As an ex-sex worker writing about sex is an issue for me. Reading about or talking about casual sex with strangers ... it makes me cringe. Here my personal experience defo affects my work. i've written sex scenes but it's a chore at the best of times but i've done it because the story called for it. Often i'm happy just using the fade-to-black option, or just closing the bedroom door. Thanks for another worthwhile article!

    Chapter 1

i had trouble reading this in one go. There's a lot of telling happening in this story, meaning lots of details are dumped on the page. It's not bad, but it's hard to read for some. Me being one of those. However, i came back to it several times and I'm glad that i did. This was a story of acceptance, patience and ultimately love. Nice job, SA.
  4. i only made one iced coffee this year so far ... coffee has been bothering my delicate stomach..lol so i don't drink much of it now. And i don't drink any caffeine for the first hour after i wake up, only water if anything. but I'm glad you're still enjoying your icy treat!!
  5. yeah.. just fans today and lots of iced tea
  6. been hot.. but AC not required today as of yet. Plus sitting in the backyard is cooler. Nice breeze today.

    Chapter 1

When i was thrown out, i wasn't quite old enough to drive. Never learned. Never met a Trace until much later. But he did save me. Another well-written piece. Much much, much too close to home. @kbois is right, some sunshine would be nice. But some things need saying, doing that brings them into the light, so everyone can see them. Secret Author is bringing out a lot of secrets assuming people are writing what they know. And as @Bill W says, you could certainly continue this and put Bill and the rest of us out of misery! Great piece, thank you.
  8. Have a wonderful Friday ... i need to wear my best underwear today.. off to varied doctors who seem to like to see me in them...lol Have a good day all.
  9. That would be better .. their winters are usually 59F to 75F .. i could manage that but when it's hot there it gets hotter than here. There is no paradise on Earth, though @Wayne Gray may disagree, in which case we should all move to Northern California. Bring yer rain boots though!
  10. Simply wonderful. Your love of the natural world shines brightly here.

    Chapter 1

i find i cannot say anything about this piece, not because it's not well done, because it is. It's just too much today. i will try to come back to it. Thank you, though.

    Soulmate

i think we had a huge connection when we met. But some things have happened that many split up over. Humans screw up. We had to decide whether the years we'd put in were worth losing. They weren't. And so we carried on together, and we made it work. Even soulmates who are.. need to tend their relationship. Thank you for reading and your comments!

    Chapter 1

Difficult to hide the characters' truths as this type of story has been done before. However, the twist and Tom were welcome and different. Nice piece. Thank you.

    See It

Typing is not writing. i loved that part! If only it were. Writing is weaving and chemistry. You need a solid foundation when you mix things up so that they do not blow up in your face. i couldn't write during the worst of covid and lockdown. Instead i took up knitting and added crochet to that as well. It helped me create things i could see when i couldn't get anything from the writer inside of me. i needed to do something. i still knit and crochet but i'm writing again and it all feels really good. Thank you for another excellent article.
  16. Not heard of that as of yet. you take care too, rick!
  17. hugs.. don't be sorry ... life goes on and sometimes we can't be here xoxoxo
  18. Michael had that done for His frozen shoulders. It was done by his physiotherapist here. In his case it didn't do anything. Time only helped that. But i know lots of people say acupuncture helps them. I figure it's unlikely to kill you, so i'd try that too.
  19. me too. But you made me curious so i found this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20642715/ Which belongs to your Government. i know people swear by them but you'd never get me to one. License to print money as far as i'm concerned, but that's my own opinion. This about spinal manipulation not sure that include the neck thing. No thanks. This is from that site: Objective: The aim of this study was to summarise all cases in which chiropractic spinal manipulation was followed by death. Design: This study is a systematic review of case reports. Methods: Literature searches in four electronic databases with no restrictions of time or language. Main outcome measure: Death. Results: Twenty six fatalities were published in the medical literature and many more might have remained unpublished. The alleged pathology usually was a vascular accident involving the dissection of a vertebral artery. Conclusion: Numerous deaths have occurred after chiropractic manipulations. The risks of this treatment by far outweigh its benefit.
  20. Sounds wonderful. Have a great time away!!
