it is ... for some of us lucky so and so's!!

That's how i feel about our new Federal government requirement that we formally report each and every complaint we get. We then have to follow up over the next 14 days and try to resolve the complaint and close it before its automatically sent on to the next level. On chat it takes nearly an hour to fill out the form, write back and forth to the customer etc ... i get it but lots of people are waiting while we do this ... it's crazy. But it is not my circus ...

Happy Saturday (Sunday for me) i've been watching some LGBT+ films recently. One i'd put off for a while, until Prime poked me in the ribs and said "This one is leaving soon!" So, i watched Milk yesterday. It wasn't easy to watch. But during Pride month, it was a good thing. i don't know a lot (enough) about our history, the fight to get to where we are now. Pride should remind us, as Remembrance Day does for our war dead, ... lest we forget those who fought, walked, wrote, marched, protested and died for Gay Rights. The film was good and spurred me to read more about Harvey Milk. I also watched, A Single Man. It was well written and acted. A Gay man suddenly left behind when his partner is killed in an accident while away from home. Told by his partner's family, the service was for family only. He cannot see a future and plans his suicide. It's a Tom Ford film, starring Colin Firth, based on the Christopher Isherwood book, A Single Man. Not yesterday, but recently, I also watched, Uncle Frank. Paul Bettany stars in this film about a man who takes a road trip back home with his niece, when his father dies. His long time partner is left home, but ends up joining the pair anyway. It's a coming-out story, a story of love, fear, understanding and acceptance. It's sort of been done before, but this was well done and both funny and sweet. i enjoyed it. Well, i hadn't planned to write film reviews today. But there you are.

Someone said, "I just want you to be happy, tim." He's a sweet man. A friend. i thought about what he said. Happy. What is that? I'm not unhappy all of the time. Sometimes i am. Suppose everyone is. Most of the time i am aware of the hollowness in my chest. It sits next to my heart and i wonder about the ache and emptiness there. It feels like a hole or entrance to the past. i fight to find and to shut that door, but it never truly closes. I don't believe in happiness. There are moments of laughter, or a good day or night. But a day never passes where i don't think of the life i lived and cannot leave behind me. How do i just forget the first 20 something years of my life? Didn't it make me who i am now? What would i be without it? Chop it off, like a rotten limb? Just put the past behind you. So far, no one has been able to show me how that magic trick is done. Ain't gonna happen. Deal with it. There seems to be a need or drive to 'be happy'. To live a happy life, to find happiness. Is it a state of mind? Can we learn it? Maybe some have. i never will, but i'm not sad all the time. i'm not unhappy. i laugh with my Husband. He's a very funny guy. i like talking to my friends, and family. i love to laugh. Mostly, i'm content. For me, looking at where i came from, and where i got to ... That's enough.

There are many things to be free of ... all of them help us breathe.

Hope everyone is doing okay. I was away sick for a bit, but i'm back. Missed a couple of days work but went back today. Our first visit to the office will happen sometime in the next month, the boss said today. Kinda freaky thinking about seeing other people after so long, but i think it will be nice. i hope everyone is hanging in there. We are supposed to get a few days of hot weather coming up, so we'll get ready for that by eating lots of salads and lighter things. I may bake a spinach pie early one morning, along with a crustless quiche. That'll be good for a few days along with salad and fruit. You all keep on hanging in.

Thank you for saying this. There's nothing wrong with listening to readers ideas. I'm asked often for more ... but usually i say there has to be a reason, a story, in order to write anything. Well, that's my opinion anyway. i've written one second part. A reader asked and gave a suggestion. I thought about it for a long time before making my decision to go ahead. By then there was a story. Luckily, it worked out very well for me. So, what you say is right. YOU need to like your story before anyone else will. Follow your instincts, you know when a story is worth your effort to write.

i ran across them while looking for something specific for a story ... i'm glad you like this.

i appreciate art and artists of all kinds ... especially when they draw emotion from me.. these two i have found recently .. and they rip feeling from me, like iron filings to a magnet.. they are amazing and are the music they play..

Read all 19 completed chapters of Wild Maple Farm .. @Wayne Gray and i are really gonna try to finish it... we are sooooo damn close. These people are my friends now.. and they make me laugh and cry and deserve to see the light of day.
