Get well soon, rick!

This is from a short story i'm presently working on when i don't feel like working on my main story: Rose entered his minuscule office and sat at the desk. Picking up the handset he punched in the phone number and waited. “Strawberry Hill Farm. How can I help you?” I was not expecting that. Rose blinked. “Good day. Um, may I speak with Carter Prescott please?” “You are. What can I do for you?” “Great. Um, Mr. Prescott, my name is James Rose. I’m a doctor at the People’s Hospital in Toronto.” “Toronto? Hospital? Sorry, doc, but I’m a bit confused. How can I help you?” “We have a patient, who had your card in his wallet. We have no other information about him. No name, no cards, no address, nothing. I’m wondering if your family has anyone missing?” “I’m sorry to hear that but no one is missing. You said Toronto? I haven’t been there for a few years.” Rose looked at the card again. “This business card is beige and looks like it’s seen better days.” There was a short pause. “Beige? Been a few years since I had had a card in that colour. I’m not sure, Doctor.” “I don’t mean to offend and I’m not making assumptions but he was found in what’s called The Gay Village.” Back in Alberta, Prescott closed his eyes and he drew in a deep breath. “I’m not offended. Tell me what he looks like if you can.” “Well, he’s maybe five feet ten …” As the doctor talked, Carter Prescott remembered. There was a memory of Toronto. Of a boy he’d found. Well, if the truth be told, who had found him, in the corner of a Gay bar. A boy he’d paid and spent a couple wonderful days with. A boy he’d offered his card to. A boy who’d never used it. A boy whose name he’d never forgotten. Owen

Monday and Tuesday were horrible here. We managed without the air by closing the place up around 10am each day.. opening up at night before bed. Lots of fans and the ceiling fan in the bedroom.

i've been there a few times... it's always nerve wracking. i'm glad once i'm in there .. i just give myself over and let them do their jobs. it's always nice to have food afterward if you feel up to eating. our local hospital has lots of very hot male nurses .. so there's entertainment too!

They have some good Canadian ones on there. I'm watching another about a deep dive in the Kalahari Desert, yes.. a deep dive. Wild ... it's called Dave Not Coming Back, this one is not Canadian. We went to vote... it was a longish walk and warm but not too bad. i need to get more exercise...i'm in sorry shape.

i got up thinking, you have a story to finish.. come on.. and i came on GA and submitted my post, and then wondered about how to get to the polling station and decided to look at the newspaper. Then i watched a documentary on Prime about a climbing expedition, called The Mystery Mountain Project. A guy and some friends who are climbers, decided to try and recreate the original expedition by the Mundays in 1926 to an unnamed mountain in BC, now called Mount Waddington. It was really good, interesting. But has nothing at all to do with my story and my character who is currently in Iran. Needless to say, I didnt get much writing done this morning.

What i remind myself each time i sit down to write and then decide it's more fun to watch Prime, or read a book or knit, or cook, or have a nap, stare out the window, or look at the wall. You get my drift: Have a great Thursday!!

Submission can be a very fulfilling thing. Nice poem.

i'm really enjoying it. I finished the first and am nearly finished the 2nd.

There's also a number of other things, including W.A.R. that wants to be finished. Sigh.. i've finished my mitre square blanket, a million dish clothes, several scarves .. working on new blanket now and cushion to match the mitre square blanket in mini squares to use up the leftover yarn from the blanket.

I am reading this... and i've finished chapter 17 of Sold into Freedom.. and i'm also working on short story currently titled Beaten but that may change.
