  1. "Flowers? Okay, what do you want?" I watched my sexy husband as he struggled in the vestibule. I’d gotten up from the sofa and peered down the hall. Faris juggled a huge bouquet of flowers, an umbrella and two sacks of groceries. “Help would be nice, to begin with.” Faris grinned then. “Some hot sex later, I’d appreciate that, James.” Putting my book aside, I moved to help out. “I’m sure you would. Not sure flowers are enough to tempt me though.” “Oh, that’s nice!” Faris
  2. Mmmm, i bet they'd be nice done on your bbq!! I am going to roast some lil taters in oil and lemon and we'll have tzatziki and a salad with them.
  3. Went out onto the balcony, which now has NOTHING on it and cleaned up all the mess the balcony painters left behind ... 'we scrape off all the rust and old paint and repaint but we don't clean it up' Gotta love that. So when i went out to have some iced coffee in the breeze ... i'm like.. what is all of this? There was like two cups of crap out there. So i swept it up and got rid of it. I guess we can put the garden shed (mini rubbermaid cupboard for the outdoors) back out there. But Michael hauled all the junk that was out there down to the garbage. So it's empty now.
  4. They look good.. nice and golden brown.. not sure how they taste yet.
  5. The greek spices and flavours ... I found it here and marinated them for just over 24 hours... Greek Chicken Thighs
  6. i don't blame you, i think you guys have a lot more options than we do. And it is very hard to find local or north american garlic, even though we grow it here. But frozen, it's just like custard.. very soft and you could mash it with a fork. Still tastes and smells good. We'll get it used up. Maybe I'll make some curry paste. Michael and i love curry so i make the paste and then freeze it into pucks in silicone muffin trays.. pop them out and into a freezer bag. I did that when i wasn't working from home... the spices/flavours are done and Michael could easily make the curry without me.
  7. Used the first of our frozen garlic yesterday. Wow, it was so easy to peel and mash up, i may just freeze it all the time. We have a LOT of frozen garlic. I ordered one head of garlic from Wally World Groceries and they sent 16. Michael and i spent a little time in the kitchen that day, breaking them up into 2 to 4 clove pieces and freezing them but it was really easy to use it straight out of the freezer. Just sharing in case you decide you need to buy 16 heads of garlic. 🧄
  8. I am up early to cook my greek chicken thighs which we will have for dinner tonight. OMG they smell so good. Having an iced coffee too.. first of the season! It's nice and gray out there so maybe it won't get so hot today.
  9. you're not the only one who teared up at this news. it's such good news and yes.. learn the symptoms ... xo
  10. i have a beard...which is kept very short. And my hair cannot be too short or too long under normal circumstances.
  11. It doesn't always work with readers ... this evolving/expanding thing. I've learned that and even thought, albeit briefly, about going back to a tried and true world to make readers happy, but i can't do that. Not and stay true to what i believe writers should do, which is to write bravely. I think i do that. I've written lots of different characters, some fantasy and a bit of sci fi, comedy, drama, lots of different things, some more successful than others. I struggle being okay with that, but, I'm working on it. So, thanks for this. It confirms I'm on the right track and heading in the right direction. It also confirms that writing for yourself—writing the story you’d like to read—is the way to go.
  12. We're in a city.. i hope we don't have wild boar.. we do get coyotes now and again.
  13. His is getting long too... i think His mom has clippers.. likely not sharpened since He was little. I think scissors are a better bet.
  14. He would slice off a man bun.. with a dull knife. He's not a fan. Alice band:
  15. we see foxes, raccoons, skunks, rabbits .. .there was the large 10pt buck incident a few years ago, too. But that's the only time i know of. We get lots of stink bugs.. omg they are ugly things and they stink. it's too damn early for this heat.. but we buttoned up the place and it's gotten rather breezy and cloudy.. so maybe there is hope ... They are saying no haircuts until august!!!! man bun? Alice band? Give Husband scissors?
  16. Over 91f with the humidity, atm. Salad plate in order for dinner... romaine lettuce lightly dressed, along with green onion, cucumber, tomato, ham, hard cooked eggs, and a few baby potatoes (done in the IP ). We are both drinking water ... Michael is not a lover of water but likes it if we soda stream it and add lemon. I love the soda stream, much better than bottled waters. Keep cool
  17. 884 made me snicker ... what would we do with total honesty all the time?? wow. And to you, Wayne, sorry you weren't well. Thanks for posting these .. late or not. Hope you are feeling better.

    Groundhog Day

For some reason... this is dated May 9, 2020... and today i received the notification of it .. very odd if you did post it today.. and odder still if you did on May 9, 2020 and i am just seeing it now.
  19. of course you were!! @Marty great suggestion. i can see readers crossing their fingers for their fav character and the next chapter... i like it.
  20. That's a nice addition. I can envision a few situations where I'd use that one.
  21. Excellent!! That's great news!!! and we have cicadas up here too. And June bugs (and too many more) and the Massasauga rattle snake. The snake is only found in a couple of places in Ontario. Like other Canadians, it doesn't like trouble, would rather talk to resolve problems, but if pressed, will bite.
