Finished chapter 3 ... at about 15,500 words so far. Did some plotting for the remainder of the story today as well. Gonna start chapter 4 and just to set it up.. keep the feeling...

No worries. I did it for 3 years ... out of 90 poems.. there maybe 4 or 5 that are worth anything. The rest were written because i had to write something. There was little joy in it, just lots of pressure to get something out. I don't write my stories that way and poetry, if you are any kind of a poet, should not be written that way either. That's my opinion, of course. Yeah, NaNoWriMo ... that's 50k words? Never gonna happen for me.. ever. I just do not have the time. Trying that would just be a prescription for failure. Why set yourself up for that on purpose? I know there are people who it works for, but not for me.

And for those who have asked why I chose not to write for NaPoWriMo, it is because i've found rather than it being a good thing for prose (possibly), for poetry it is not. Poetry should not be a job, it should not be forced from the poet like so much squeezey cheese from a tube. What comes out is usually not worth tasting or reading, as the case may be.
