  1. Well, I'm sure the lake is pristine. But with visibility being so limited underwater, especially at night, you just don't know what could happen.
  2. No. Aside from boat traffic, there's the undertow. Fishing lines and loose bits of netting are also a concern.
  3. A couple of times. No swimming, though. Too much of a risk.
  4. Not as dark as I would like, unfortunately. Being right on the water gives you a good view of the downtown area in Saugatuck/Douglas, which means the nightlife looks like this: It's pretty, but you may have to keep the curtains closed to get a good night's sleep.
  5. It's a cute store. Black and white checkerboard tiles, brushed silver stools with red upholstery, and ice cream floats with a whipped cream "head" as big as your own.
  6. All of your talk earlier gave me a craving. Took the boys to Saugatuck Drugstore Soda Fountain. Which is exactly what it sounds like: a soda shop from the 1950's.
  7. Had this one for breakfast this morning, with sliced almonds on top! http://momsbistro.net/start-your-mornings-right-with-this-quick-and-easy-10-minute-homemade-maple-brown-sugar-oatmeal-recipe/
  8. Montgomery Clift was G-A-Y!
  9. It was an excellent book. According to Goodreads, it's planned as a two-part story. The sequel will be available next year. And OMG! I totally agree! She was my favorite Avatar, probably even more than Aang!
  10. I have a recipe for a honey-and-walnut ice cream infused with rosemary. Too bad we couldn't bring the ice cream maker with us. https://www.scoopadventures.com/cookbook-preview-rosemary-honey-walnut-ice-cream/
  11. The Rise of Kyoshi, by F. C. Yee, with Michael Dante DiMartino. Brought it with me for reading on vacation. I had no idea it existed until I popped into Horizon Books a few days before departure. It follows the early life of Avatar Kyoshi, a formidable woman who was merciless in her pursuit of justice and peace amid an era of turmoil 430 years before the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Forced to flee after the "false Avatar" dies at the hands of his treacherous mentor, Kyoshi seeks aid in a group of daofei, brutal gangsters who adhere to a strict code of honor and blood. Together with her best friend and bodyguard, a Firebender named Rangi, can this humble household servant who can barely lift a pebble bring order and stability to the Earth Kingdom? Perhaps, but first she'll need someone to teach her how to bend the Four Elements.
  12. Hey, Marty. Hey, Albert.
  13. Not even the weather?
  14. You "whip out your wand"?
  15. @Drew Espinosa will love this.
  16. The sun is quite hot, but the water is very refreshing.
  17. Hey, Albert. How are you and Steve?
  18. Hey, Drew! How are things in Texas?
  19. Hey, Gary. Hey, Clo. Shame about the shoes.
  20. Yup. He's been very well behaved, so far.
  21. Hey, Dugh and Thistle. *scratches for the wee pup* How's Mum faring?
  22. I thought the movie looked really bad. And I don't mean "scary".
  23. Mickey is the only one in our family who likes horseradish. But Remy is the only one who likes pineapple. They're truly an odd couple.
