Owls are amazing animals, and barn owls, in particular, are a favorite of mine. I think there might be somewhere between two and five owls in the loft at any given time. Two parents and several adult children, which is somewhat rare; once they leave the nest, owls are typically solitary in nature, until they find a mate.
Things are great! And yes, we had brunch at my friend's house this morning. Max also spotted one of the owls that lives in the barn. They like to make themselves known from time to time.
Got an invitation to my friend, Jessie's house, for brunch this weekend. His dad, unfortunately, passed away during Covid. (His health was already declining, and he was placed in quarantine at the hospital as a precaution.) After Jesse's dad died, his mom transferred the ranch to Jessie's name. Now he and his younger brother run it together.
Max enjoys spending time with the horses, and Jessie's mom is an excellent cook. Should be a good time.
The line waiting to climb the tower takes several hours, I've heard. Much like some of the rides at Disneyland. Not that I've been to either location to know for certain.
@raven1 A Series of Unfortunate Events, dark as it is, has some excellent dry humor. Not to mention the absurdist behavior of the adults. There are two adaptations: A film featuring Jim Carrey, and a Netflix series starring Neil Patrick Harris. Guess which version is better?
