  2. Yeah, they do. He arrived about a week after his 9th birthday, and now he's three months shy of his 12th.
  3. Not for another six years and three months. So far, Max is growing up gracefully, and I know he'll be a great man one day. It's a little bittersweet for me, and for Morgan, because this next year will be his last before Max becomes a teenager.
  4. Oh, and Max's ballet troupe had their performance today. Some of the cookies were still cooling when we left the house to get ready. It was a lovely display, and Max landed every....cue? Is that the right word for a dance routine? Anyway, there wasn't a single misstep, and I loved watching every minute of it. We ate at Pepe Nero afterwards. A bit expensive, especially with the impending holiday, but Max deserved a treat after a job well-done.
  5. We're doing well. We made lots of cookies today. Lemon curd thumbprint cookies, brandy snaps, snickerdoodles, and maple-pecan cookies, just to name a few.

  8. I may have been wrong about the Nile being saltwater, but I wasn't wrong about you being familiar with it.
  9. Now that I'm finished consulting Google, the Nile isn't saltwater, either. Though, it is fed by several saline sources.

  12. I thought I'd try making these for breakfast on Christmas morning.
  13. I made pecan balls and pecan pie squares. I'll also be making peanut butter blossoms, and candy cane braids with peppermint extract.
