If you're happy, I'm happy, my friend. I kind of figured the ending would surprise some people. But it's Christmas, and a happy ending for Lane was a MUST. Because if he was happy, Charlie, Kip, and all the others would be happy, too.

Haha! If Simon were six inches taller, he might be FUN in the role of Lane Tallfield. I can imagine Lane squashing the performance dreams of little old ladies onstage, even now!

TV is generally a waste of time. I had a few favorite shows when I was young, but was a reader, and preferred that, when I wasn't out in the woods.

One of the prices you pay for living in the boondocks is that broadcast TV is usually out of range. If we hadn't eventually gotten cable here, we'd still only have a few channels. And one of them in French, from Quebec!

The key to really enjoying the Warner Brothers cartoon family is first realizing that these cartoons really were not made for little kids. Many come from an era when a lot people didn't even have TV yet. They were made to be shown to adults in theaters, as part of the intro show before the main attraction. The fact that kids can watch and love these cartoons speaks greatly about their appeal, and the fact that humor transcends age in a lot of ways. The move to remove many older cartoons from children's TV due to their supposed 'violence' is just a reminder that these cartoons were made by adults, for adults. I like Bugs even more now than when I was a kid.

This site is absolutely wonderful for feedback! If you are lucky enough to get a few regular readers, they will spot every single misstep in plotting you make, notice every misspelled name, and point out to you that so-and-so couldn't possibly have done that, because he died three stories ago! It's a GREAT place to be a writer; or, to try to be one! 🙂

The silence was brief. Charlie was startled by the man's appearance, but at the same time, he found he was not that surprised. He had expected to meet up with the lawman eventually, just not this soon. He had figured they'd need to sort of worm their way into Tursin's good graces in order to be brought together with Tallfield again.
