Thank you. I was thinking how much we tend to think of Valentine's Day as a holiday about love, when even love is really about the best sort of companionship one can find. So of course a sci-fi tale about huge stone creatures roaming the cosmos was the result. 😊

Hmm. That sounds kind of familiar, actually. But he's taken! The world is full of the types you just mentioned. Finding the one that would be interested is the key. There are no magical formulas for that. It comes down to being in the right place at the right moment. I think the word is 'kismet'. But we can all wish for this to happen for you. You would need Erma to take a pattern of your brain and have Neelie search for a match. But with your luck, you'd wind up with the doppleganger we are all supposed to have! I can see the two of you looking into a mirror at the same time, and shorting out the entire universe!

Maybe. I have to keep a list now of all the characters that have come and gone in this series. In all truth, there are enough now that it's hard to get them all in one tale. So I have to have some part of the group off doing other things in each story. But Neelie may return. If I can locate her! Frit and Pip can visit Oumuamua anytime they want. The hangar is now in the guidebook. Anywhere Oumuamua goes, they can still find her by teleporting to that hangar. I can even see her becoming an elf tourist attraction. I was kind of thinking of opening a popcorn stand there, myself!

Rats were always the first to leave a sinking ship, because rats are practical, and rats are survivors. Which makes me think that the best way to rid a ship of rats is to fool them into thinking it's sinking. How to do that without getting one's feet wet is the hard part!

The science of the Galactics should be up to backtracking Oumuamua at least far enough to locate their home system...if any of it's still there!

All four chapters have been posted under timed release. GA only allows two new chapters each day, eight hours apart. Chapter four will appear a minute or so after midnight tonight.

I think that now that elves are traveling in space, they have formalized a way that the guidebook can be automatically updated by the travelers themselves. So if one now has the location of a place, they all have it. It would be a sensible way to do it. The Telzee route was supposed to be to get an elf to a place he or she had never been, that had yet to be added to the guidebook. Before Max and company started roaming the stars, elves didn't exactly go to a lot of new places not in the guidebook. Their magical routes had been fairly standardized. That has changed now, definitely! Anyway, Max was able to get to Keerby by normal means, because Keerby was already there, What Casper can teach the others remains to be seen. I have only a general idea of what he can do just now, myself! Thanks for the nice comment.

I also watched the news about Oumuamua with a lot of interest. The idea for a story just wouldn't go away, but it was only recently that I decided Charlie and the gang might like a shot at looking it over. What good is having friends with star ships if you can't go and investigate the occasional mysterious visitor to the solar system?

Ulp! Please do not give the characters any ideas! Although...it might be fun!

The Polynesian people were pretty daring seafarers. I don't think I would have wanted to risk the Pacific in the kind of boats they traveled in. Yet they explored half a world away from home. Let's face it, modern humans are pansies compared to the ones that mastered this planet. Can you imagine all these brave explorers getting anywhere if they'd had their noses buried all the time in an Android or IPhone?
