    Duncan's Story

I didn't mean it like that! Um...I don't think, anyway!

    Part 4

Glad to have you along, as always, my friend. If you are just reading this one (and enjoyed it), you have some interesting moments ahead of you, I think! Thanks!

    Duncan's Story

I am just reinforcing those plans, is all. I wish I had completed everything I ever started. There would just be room for you and me on this site!
  4. I have asked the same questions. But it doesn't do ME any good. YOU have to answer them. Write faster!

    The Sting

You slipped this one by me somehow. Great continuation to the first prompt story. Now that you own this idea, we all hope you'll run with it!
  6. Hmm. More to wonder about. Write faster!

    Into The Valley

Great chapter. The question of who to believe - and believe in - seems clear to me, but I am only guessing and hoping at this point!

    Duncan's Story

This is a good start to what looks like would be an interesting tale. If you don't plan for there to be more, you should!

    Fear the Dark

This is the type of short piece that lets the reader's imagination run wild! And I have to go to bed shortly!

    First Steps

Great chapter, Tim. The relationship between Stravor and Keter is becoming more complex, and Shade is an interesting addition to the mix. Their journey together looks to be a making of sorts. Hard to see whose truth is the right one here...I guess we will just have to wait and see!.

Like I said, a REAL evil streak!

    Thank you back!

    Part 2

I grew up reading science fiction and fantasy, and discovered the escapist nature of it then. It does tend to take you away from the day. I never needed it that way, but I did find the mental exercise fun. At this point in my life I find it as much fun to write this kind of stuff as to read it. The pattern is light entertainment, though, and I intend to keep it that way, at least for now. I'll leave the heavy stuff to others! Thanks for coming along!

    Chapter 1

Yep. It might actually be a fun, if somewhat unbelievable, story. After thinking about it, it might at least make a decent Charlie Boone story, if not one with all the characters I've ever created romping through it. Writer's axiom: never discard ANY story idea. And yes, the imagination is what it's all about!
  15. Awesome, both of them. I can't see that you are struggling to write. I see you perhaps struggling right now with the length of what you write. But gems are all beautiful, no matter their size.

    Chapter 1

I could do that. A time/space maelstrom grabs all the main characters from the stories you mentioned and deposits them on an asteroid orbiting a dying star. The asteroid is a large one, with an atmosphere, but it runs in an eccentric orbit where it periodically freezes on the outgoing leg of the orbit. The guys (all fifteen or twenty of them) have a limited amount of time to figure out how/why they are there, plan an escape, and still find the time to explore the dead alien cities they find there. And...what's that huge, strange thing they keep seeing orbiting above?!? And the weird sounds, and the strange lights on the horizon each night? And the...man! It could be fun, if I didn't go completely nuts first! Yeah, shouldn't take me more than two months to write that, and about four hundred thousand words! Where's my straight jacket, so I can get started!

    Chapter 1

Ouch! I guess i deserved that! I have 30% of the next Door story written, and several other tales in various stages of completion. I have two very long stories in the works, one currently with ten chapters written, one with seventeen chapters completed. I have resumed working on the latter tale, with the resolve to finish it this time. I never used to leave any story until it was completed. But I have a weakness for the picture challenges at another site, that shall remain nameless (Iomfats), and I am continually breaking into what I am working on to write challenge stories. I have slapped my fingers with a ruler and pledged not to do this again until I finish my backlog of incomplete stories. That said, I have a tradition now of doing a Charlie Boone story for certain holidays, and Halloween is coming up again. And then Christmas after that! So I guess I never will be able to stick completely to any one thing for very long. But I sure am having fun!

You have a definite evil streak, young man!

    Thank you!

    Chapter 1

Thanks. I don't see this as anything but a one-off....but my story Thrift Shop Nation was a challenge story (a one-off), and I wound up writing a sequel. So...you never know!

    Chapter 1

Thank you. This one was supposed to be nice.

    Making Ready

I see you are about to take this on the road. It has the makings of a quest, with master, loyal follower (and love), and the horse with no name, secretly called after a phantom of the night. The characters are very likable, the scenario is intriguing, and the writing is definitely magnetic. I love a good quest!

    Chapter 1

Thank you. It was supposed to be light...I'm just glad it didn't blow away!

    Chapter 1

I saw Amanda as a sensible girl, just maybe a little too loyal to her mom. I think she's done with posing for now. Thank you for the kind comment!
