Who, indeed? Frankly, I am not the least bit insulted to have something I have written inspire people to think of either Mary Poppins or Peter Pan. I could do much worse! Thanks!

Thanks, CG! No one else has said that the text is not looking correctly formatted. Anyone? I use an HTML editor when I write, and produce an actual webpage. They have always uploaded and displayed fine here. Maybe it's gremlins!

I could feel the heat in the first part of this verse, and the coolness beneath the trees in the second. As a resident of a forest and a lover of same, I enjoyed this very much!

Humans also spread good things. That's the purpose of these tales, I hope! Mary Poppins? Who invited her??

Thank you for saying!

The events in this story follow It's Almost Time For Christmas, Charlie Boone! And before that, in reverse order, It's A Spooky Night Out There, Charlie Boone!, It's the Gayest Christmas Ever, Charlie Boone!, and It's the Great Punkin, Charlie Boone! You really sorta need to start with them. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Kippy Lawson was not happy. Charlie and Kippy find that Valentine's Day doesn't always work out the way they expect it to. Missed posting this one here at that holiday, but it's required for continuity of the series.

The Charlie Boone stories are a series. Each new tale assumes to some extent that you have read the previous tales. If you haven't, you really should. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "It's the Fourth of July," Kippy Lawson said, gazing fretfully at Charlie Boone over a spoonful of cereal. "We have to make plans, or it will be too late." Kippy's blonde hair was still tousled from bed, whic

Charlie and Kippy are planning a casual Fourth of July evening: pizza, getting together with friends, and then fireworks after the sun goes down. Little do they know that they are about to have visitors, and be off on a new adventure that takes them farther from home than they have ever been before!

Fragment Seven: Family?

I know. It's the 'relaxing' part I'm worried about! -
Fragment Seven: Family?
Geron Kees commented on ColumbusGuy's story chapter in Fragment Seven: Family?
Ah, someone has been using the blender again! What have they been cooking up this time? I have to say that you ending these things where you end them is having an effect on my hair. I still have a lot at the moment, but too many more chapters like this one and I will need to consider a helmet of some sort to keep me from pulling anymore out. I'd be much safer with Jay and Miles, all sweaty in their tent. Um...oh...maybe not! Damn! It's just tough to win with you! -
It took me longer to read all the comments than to read the chapter! What a mob! After reading all the comments, I cannot seem to find a single superlative that was not already used by someone. So I guess I'll just say I loved it, and move on!

Well, that was a sweet tale. You touched all my buttons there (sniff). Anyone got a hanky?

Definitely, another successful chapter. Adam's dad's church reacted to everything as expected...but then that's the way a lot of these people think. I never understood the mindset that it was okay to hurt or kill someone because they were unbelievers. Any religion that places no value on a life simply because that person is 'not one of us' is missing something fundamental in its nature. This kind of thinking goes so far back to the earliest tribal mentalities that it's kind of shocking to still see it in action today. Agree with Travlbug on Kyle's change of heart. Anyone who commits an atrocity and then says they are sorry later is terribly hard to believe. It takes a certain sort of person to do something horrible to another person to begin with. Apologies from them have the same value as promises from politicians, I think. Good job, Ivor. Waiting for more!

I am as much in love with my woods as Jesse is in love with his. So I may get carried away a little now and then describing them! 😃 I wasn't planning for Parker to be liking younger guys. What happened with her and Jesse was a one-off, and due to the move into a new home and a feeling of loneliness on her part. She did remark more than once that she wished Jesse was older. But they have forged a lasting bond, and I do expect her to continue to like Jesse and be interested in what he does. And for the reverse to be true, too! I have several different series running, and ideas for the next installments in each one. Which one will be next is hard to say. But there will be more Door stories, definitely. Just cannot promise when. The main problem is that I have several other story ideas running at the same time, not related to current series. One is a fantasy tale, already sixteen chapters of which are written. And then there's the post-apocalypse tale...well, you'll see! 😅

Maybe. You would know that better than I! Some people simply place other people first, no matter the situation. Caring about people is a built-in thing, I think, and it's either present, or it's not. Sometimes, it's there and sort of dormant, but will be pulled to the fore by a situation. And in others its right there on the front porch, the first thing you see when you meet them. But there is no mistaking a caring person, once you see them in action.

Hmm. Very interesting twist, Kyle wanting to see the guys. Little late for apologies, but let's see what happens. I'm not surprised that Adam's Mom is holding true to form. That's just sad, all the way. There are few forces in nature that are supposed to be as strong as a mother's caring love for her children. Mama obviously missed the boat on this one. Maybe she should look at Troy's Mom, who cares more about Adam than she ever did, without even being related to him. This has been quite a ride so far, Ivor. Thought we might be nearing the end, but it would seem you still have a few surprises in store!

Someone remarked to me once that everyone in Jesse's and Marty's world seemed to be gay. That's actually not true, but I guess they do tend to find their own. Nick and Brian are like a lot of best friends I knew growing up: so close you would think they were gay - but they really were not. In the mixed drink that is friendship, some small ingredient was missing to make that a true gay relationship. But love is love, right? Sex is just a component of that. Guys can care about each other fiercely, and not have sex. Is that gay? Maybe not in true definition. Is is still love? Absolutely. The thickness of a hair is the difference, but it is a hair to be reckoned with, surely. Thanks for saying hello! 😊

Thank you. I do plan for a third installment, when time permits. I am already well past the point I figured I get to it. Life, and all that stuff. I appreciate you taking the time to write. Enough of those, and I'll be quicker to get back to it! 😄 I love starry nights myself, as you may have been able to tell from the stories. Great name to make one think.

Haha! Well, I don't know about that. All I can suggest is that you look around and see what there is to see. Wouldn't hurt to brush up on your Russian, either!

Another good one, Ivor. Pleased the GSA meeting went so well, and that support seems certain for it to continue. Not really surprised at that. Once the story of what happened to the guys got out, most decent people would step away from any doubts they had and err on the side of sympathy. No one should be treated like these two were. Not terribly surprised by mom's reaction. She is kind of caught in the middle, losing - to her mind - both a husband and a son. She's a victim of a sort herself, although a self-blinded one. Karma is what you put into it for others, reflected back at you.

I like philosophy at least as much as cars! 😥
-
Dang. With your take on roads, maybe you can write the third Road story! 😊
-
Haha. MOST of my stuff is long. The other tales are just not broken into chapters. You'll see, if you look!

I think that labels come and go pretty quickly in our teens. Only experience settles out some issues. My own teens were a little wild. I was in my twenties before my road ahead settled into something more clear. Been fairly smooth going since. But I had my doubts, once. Being young goes where it goes, and sometimes we're passengers in our vehicle. Becoming the driver - the only driver - takes time, and experience, and patience.
