Well, well. Wally's education continues. Or, perhaps it's his reform we are seeing more clearly in this chapter. He is starting to see new people without strings attached, without hidden motivations, and he is liking that. I like the way he has interacted with Ellie and Graham, accepting their friendly advances as normal. I also like the bond he is forging with Cookie. Even though he was somewhat manipulated into working on the spreadsheet for Cookie, Wally has approached the project as a non-profit endeavor - something he is willing to do just to help out. I like Wally now. What an interesting about-face you've made with him in this story. At some point, I hope we can learn his true name.

Hi Lisa. Well, you either like cars a lot or are very patient, as this first entry in the series takes a while to get rolling. I was very focused on making the cars out as characters - extensions of their driver's personalities. It takes until about chapter six for the people to shake loose and get moving. I'll tell you a secret: Brian and Chris did keep in touch by phone. There - make you happier? Thanks for the nice review.

Okay, Ben is hesitant to take the next step, and Travis is prepared to be mildly bitter about it. There is some real magnetism going on here. You've created some nice tension, and I like the way that it remains unclear how much of that Audra and Bryan are truly unaware of. Very nice sense of real going on here. Thanks.

Very well-written piece. The suggestion that more happened than Ben really remembers, with the evidence of his own fuzzy memory that he and Travis partied at least to the point of a kiss, and the fact that neither of them seems unsatisfied with the morning after, leaves the door open for expansion of this new relationship into more interesting territory. The invite to the ranch seems to be the new direction to explore, and having Bryan and Audra along for contrast is going to be interesting.

What an AMAZING review, Lisa! I wish I could bottle the energy you put into it. Thank you! I do write stories with happy endings. It's a flaw in my character. But I'm glad that this time you enjoyed it. Are you comparing Ronnie with a member of One Direction?? Sigh. Story of My Life (my rule is, you send one joke, you get one in return). Thanks for coming by!

Chapter 3 - Prince Ladd
Geron Kees commented on Cole Matthews's story chapter in Chapter 3 - Prince Ladd
Another fun little tale. Perhaps we all can take a lesson from this chapter, about not seeing something special (or, in this case, two something specials) that is too close to notice. This series reminds me of a show I watched as a kid, called Amazing Stories. You've managed to capture the flavor of an engaging fantasy and mix it with some down-to-earth practical musings. Hope this one rolls on for a while. -
More education for Wally, on the art of manipulation...from the other end. There is a different flavor to it when it is done without malicious intent, though. Cookie pulled a fast one, but this is somehow going to work for Wally's benefit in the end. Wally really is learning about being a part of things with people. His awareness level of other people as worthy of caring about has come up a very, very long way from chapter one. He can only learn, by caring for others, the importance of also caring for himself without doing so at the expense of others. He seems to be an apt pupil. too. And...sorry about pressing you for a happy ending last review. You can yell, but don't hit.

It's nice to see Wally getting an education in normalcy. Not only is he learning some family values, but he is seeing how gay couples can function lovingly and happily. I think he has some mixed feelings about both Javier and Oscar, and Michael and Trey - not the least of which is a bit of jealousy at what the first pair already has and what the second couple is moving towards. There is some small education going on for Javier, too. Oscar seems well-adjusted to the role of dad; but Javier is not sure enough with it to always allow Michael the freedom he needs to learn a few necessary things. Neither dad is letting him run wild; but Oscar, at least, seems willing to trust his son's judgment - and Trey's motives - more easily. I have to admit now that I cannot wait to see how this tale ultimately ends. As a reader I expect some reward for my efforts, just as you receive pleasure from writing. My goal is for Wally to find love and happiness. I believe in happy endings. Do you?

Chapter 39 Healer Interrupted
Geron Kees commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 39 Healer Interrupted
Ah, love. Works wonders, apparently. Kellar's new awareness of his healing and his new abilities to use it seem directly linked to his connection with Tobyn. And Tobyn seems also to be becoming more involved in the healing process than just as a simple supplier of energy to Kellar. Certainly, they are greater together than they are apart. I feel like the healing with Logan is going to work. The bond this is going to forge between Morningstar pack and Vega pack is going to be important down the line. Alliances win wars. And, a minor cliffhanger of an ending. Of course, I could just go and read the next chapter, and I will...tomorrow. -
Woof! Things just keep getting better...and more complex. Logan will need some definite care before he can be allowed to get together with his earthmate. We'll have to see what Kellar can do for him first. Some positive steps being made here. And, the telepathic link between Kellar and Tobyn seems to be refining itself into something usable. I'm also interested in Bill - the guy in the wheelchair. You have something interesting up your sleeve for this one? And, if Vega has lost two members recently, there must be hunters nearby. Glad to be back, I've been missing this!

Repairing Years of Damage
Geron Kees commented on ColumbusGuy's story chapter in Repairing Years of Damage
Yeah, you left me hanging with that, "Dad?" Is this where Mikey's dad starts to figure things out - or has he really suspected all along? There have been small hints, here and there, where you have at least pushed forth the idea that Mikey's dad may have taken note of a few things. Interesting to see how this plays out. Fooling around underneath a truck is a new one for me. It was kind of cute, and very believable. And, of course, getting soaked in the rain has always carried a little bit of sexy with it. Greg and Denny certainly seem made for each other. I think you have meshed their needs nicely. They have certainly worked out ways to support each other thus far. Denny, especially, needs the lift into light that Greg has been giving him. Again, another nice chapter. I will soon have caught up to you. That kind of sucks. I'll have to go back to drinking heavily and carousing for my evening activities. -
Thanks for taking to time to let me know how you felt. I do believe strongly in second chances, and that the rewards usually far outweigh the risks. Sometimes, twice-told tales are better than the original go-around. And if you have read this tale more than once, I see you also get the concept quite well. Thanks for reading!

Hi again. Thanks, as always, for the thoughtful review. This story was written for a friend who runs another story site. Not true-life, but a sort of homage to him, and to all the guys out there who have felt a need to run a story site for other guys who have a lot on their mind in thinking about their sexuality. Just some thoughts for them. And, maybe, for their sons, and for the sons of readers, and for every reader, also.

Thank you, again, for another very nice review. As a teen of the eighties, my crowd was even farther away from the openness and freedom of sex exemplified by the sixties than you were. I did not see people I knew running amok and fooling around with everyone they knew. At the same time, I was aware of a few odd relationships among friends. There were things, here and there, that I picked up on, which were not really out in the open but also were not carefully hidden. People did have some unusual things going on, and I was okay with that. I just wanted to do a little exploring in this story, on behalf of Brian and Jeff. I wanted them to learn a few things that I learned back then. In their next outing, they will be ready now for something different, that only the two of them can share. The next story is where i have been going with the first two. Hope to see you there for that one, also.

Another fine job, Ivor. Amazing how fast things can go wrong, huh? Assumptions should never be allowed to take the place of facts. I'm glad you let these two get back together at the end. Nice use of the prompts, too. You seem to be pretty good at that!
-
Wow. We eased right into this story, no fuss, no muss. I like the people you've produced, like the world you've placed them in. So far, things are on the roll. Where? Not sure yet. Like that, too. Thanks!
-
Okay, I'm hooked. Ben is miserable beneath his shiny facade and apparent success. Nothing hurts like feeling empty and not knowing why. I'm along for the ride. Thanks for the lift!
-
Yes, I backed a truck up to the door in the dark of night, and unloaded this story while no one was looking. I enjoyed writing this story. It was done for Tim's 20th anniversary at IOMFATS, and really intended as a sort of homage to his resilience, and love of the genre. There's a fellow with some farkin' patience! You want to see some more of Kevin and Ronnie? I can do that. You be patient, and I'll see what can be done. You want more of Kevin and Ronnie?
-
Excellent. Really a good story. I love stuff that has that mysterious edge to it, but also addresses real concerns in people's lives. Ben was like an awful lot of people out there, struggling to find himself and some happiness to go with it. A little bit of contrast can go a long way to opening one's eyes, and he got the full measure in this one. Good for Kevin, willing to try again. I like this apartment building so far. Haunted? Maybe. But even ghosts understand love.
-
Hi! Good to see you again. Some of the things that teen guys do together are complicated. Some of the rules are crazy - even stupid. But real affection has a way of making itself known, and sometimes, it wins in the end. Sometimes, it just needs a really good kiss to set it free!
-
Oh, boy. Nice contrast. The young and inexperienced, and the only slightly less young and way too experienced. That video must have had some amazing exposure. With all the thousands of new ones that undoubtedly appear every day online, it's amazing to think that everyone seems to have seen it. Fame is one thing, infamy another entirely. Wally handled the moment with Michael well. He is learning that what he says has meaning to others, and that he needs to be careful what comes out of his mouth. I like that he placed Michael's needs above his own there, just for a moment. He's learning, isn't he?
-
Aw, man. The past is a hard taskmaster. This is not good. The potential for disaster is great. I gotta go see what happens!
-
Sure. Cabrera was kind to him. Kind to him on the boat, kind to bring Wally home, kind to invite him into the family. To share, The man holds the spot of a little bit of an ideal for Wally now. All the things that Wally once thought made up his life are now gone. New things are creeping in - decent things, things he is finding he likes. And, loneliness is creeping in, too. When the entire focus of existence is taken off yourself, when you let others in, when you find that you do indeed need and want them - then you see what is missing. The one, The special one. The close one. Wally needs someone special. You're the author - the god of this world. What are you going to do about it?
-
This is going along well. Nothing like seeing the effects of love and companionship in action to focus one on what might be missing in life. Family is something we carry with us long after we have grown and left home. That Wally lost that sense is surely one of the things that allowed him to act as coldly and irresponsibly as he did at school. Now, if he can get it back... Being a part of something - a family, a relationship, even a group of close friends - is critical to being happily human. People in your life make the world warm and close. At this point in your story. I actually want this for Wally. Got a feeling you will not disappoint me.
-
Wow. People like Cabrera exist everywhere. The small things they do every day for others should be recorded, but seldom are. I hope this is really the lifeline it looks to be. The one first handed out by Mark and Lee, and passed along by those aboard ship. Acceptance. Friendship. People that care. Wally, alone in a strange place and at loose ends for a week - anything could happen. But maybe, now, that anything will be a good thing.
