    Home and Away

They do. Tony's attentions have worked wonders with Geoff but there's much more to do.

    Their Story

You are very kind, dugh. I suspect any high school characters I might attempt would be less successful. 🙄 Jack was lucky in having the means to extricate himself from the situation. Many don't.

    Their Story

Yeah, but @Carlos Hazday complained when I 'forced' him to read my last antho entry. It had an open ending and the overall darkish timbre wasn't to his liking.

@comicfan I'm pleased you found the story thought-provoking, and the characters true to real life. Both of those are great compliments. Thank you.

Well, she was taken to a Minor injuries unit rather than a hospital ER. Yes, the next meeting of her and Geoff is going to be interesting.

    Tomorrow

Your knack for currency, Carlos, makes me feel this could be going on anywhere in the States right now. It will be the youth of the USA who will finally bring about a change to your gun laws, I think. Good luck to them and may it happen soon.

    Home and Away

@Timothy M. These and god knows how many other thoughts are probably running through Geoff's mind. We'll have to wait for next time to find out how any of them are relevant.

You'll just have to keep reading, won't you, drought?

    Their Story

I thought of you when it became clear I was heading for a happy ending ...

    Their Story

Yes, he could, but it isn't the same. If you've played a grand piano, it's a living, almost breathing thing that responds to you like nothing digital ever could. And it has its own character and sound.
  11. On the following day, Geoff peered out at the weather from Tony's front room. High clouds still obscured any of the promised sunshine. He shrugged – that's what came of making plans to go out for the day. Just as he heard Tony's trainers squeaking behind him, his boyfriend lunged, grabbing hold of him round the waist. Even though he knew of his approach, Geoff couldn't help a nervous twitch. He looked round, one eyebrow raised. Tony appeared disappointed. “You're no fun. I expected a loud ye

Here we go again ... Jack is the most northerly. T&G are my sort of West Midlands, Eric is more south and west in Herefordshire (though I don't locate either of them precisely).
  13. northie

    Their Story

Indeed. Given they're still new friends, they've still got a lot to learn about each other. Hopefully, that learning will be enlightening and enjoyable on the whole.

    Their Story

Yes, he wants to get on with his life, but not at any price. From the people-smugglers onwards. Thanks, Gary, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

@lEAFMOLD Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoy my writing. Each writer is different - I do include sex scenes in some of my stories, but they're there as part of the plot. Equally, readers come with different expectations. GA has a wide range which covers most tastes.

I do too. Jack has managed to pick himself, make new friends, and set his life onto a new course.
  17. northie

    Their Story

Yes, he was initially of course, but his feelings and his life have changed. I suspect he'd regard finding Mukisa now as more of a silver lining to his niece's well-intentioned meddling.
  18. Mukisa Okello, a refugee from Uganda meets Jack Hollingsworth, who's recently widowed, in an retirement complex. The encounters between the two men change their lives.

    Their Story

Mukisa Okello ceased dusting the ornaments in No. 6 and peered out of the first-floor window. He didn't recognise the vehicle that was drawing up outside the retirement development. Was it someone new? Someone who'd stay and give him generous tips for helping them with their housework? More than one of the flats stood empty, though Mukisa remembered seeing people moving furniture into No. 8 the day before. He remained at the window, watching, squinting against the bright spring sunshine. After a

    Simple Thanks

I second @Valkyrie in every respect. This is so typical of your endearing modesty, dear friend. Your suprise that any of us might hold you in high regard.

    True To Life

@ObicanDecko I loved making Geoff come out with that. As Puppi said, happiness has a tendency to burst forth. As for Joy, yes, the world's against her.

    Old and New

Thanks, Def. I appreciate your comments very much. Eric's popularity and what he means to so many people, took me completely by surprise.

    Life Lessons

Hmm ... I don't think this story would go far on Nifty.
  24. northie

    True To Life

I know. I imagined him bursting to tell someone of his happiness and fulfillment. Didn't last long though.

    Food For Thought

Yes, trying to persuade older people that computers are not only useful but also easy to use can feel like an uphill task. Fear of the unknown and of change are the two main factors, I think.
