Well yeah, you've seen how he handles his mother. It's kinda the same thing, a little disassociation helps lol.

I'm actually having fun with what is quickly turning into a Catholic fanfic, and I'm not even Catholic. lmao

Yeah. This is coming off the rails pretty quick. "Blessed be the tragic twink," is starting to become a theme. I didn't intend the holy war between Skylar and his mom to become the thing that it is but both are pretty entrenched in it now. But I will say, I really want that Saint Sebastian poster now and I'm probably going to end up with one.

More tremors before the impending doom. I'm having issues with Noah, maybe Jack's right.

2025 Secret Author Story Contest Deadline!

20 entries? NICE! Teamwork makes the dreamwork. Can't wait to read all of these! -
If I’d known coming out would land me in a mall dressing room with Lex playing Queer Eye and Kenzi as his militant sidekick, I’d have stayed closeted with a Netflix subscription and a death wish. Pacific Palms Shopping Center was a SoCal shrine to overpriced smoothies and low-rise jeans, and I was their sacrificial lamb. “No,” I deadpanned, swatting away a glittery crop top Lex held up like it was a Grammy. “Skylar, babe, we’re crafting academic but slutty,” Lex declared, his neon buck

Glad you like it. I'm not sure how many more Classic and Signature Author comments I can take before my foundations crumble lol. -
My Closet Had Better Lighting Than My Future
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in My Closet Had Better Lighting Than My Future
Haha no. "Learned to Lie" needed to happen as is, it's good so far. Just waiting on somebody to publish chapter 5 so I can stop foaming at the mouth. But yeah after reading the fallout from your story, I wanted this one to be kind of just as bad but in a different way. Hence the holy water incident. Especially since Skylar's allergy is born from mine. It's the only thing I'm allergic to and the scent of it causes severe throat irritation and if there is too much of it (like a cluster of real christmas trees at wal-mart) my esophagus starts to swell. It's why I don't do nature, especially in the pacific northwest. I can spend short periods of time there, even drive through it. But spending the night in a National Forest causes complications. As for Ryan he's either the dream or the regret. It's a coin toss. Madison is the stories super villain so no she's not. Just so you know Skylar's name is almost a satire in itself. There's some other characters coming soon that'll be the same way. -

I'm glad your enjoying this hot mess lol. It's probably a defense mechanism. Dudes got a boy crush but the brain does things to draw lines lol. There's always a story with a Ryan in it so he's an accumulation of all of them probably. We'll know more when he actually opens his mouth without tripping over it. -

Hey I've been known to enjoy a cuppa every now and again. Most of this is based on stuff that I've read actually just with attitude. I've been reading these stories since I was 17 and I'm pushing mid forties. -
My Closet Had Better Lighting Than My Future
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in My Closet Had Better Lighting Than My Future
Don't remind me. I'm at my Chapter 11 crisis on two stories. That's basically my version of a mid life crisis in a story, it's the point where my plot direction disappears and I'm staring at it like I don't know who I am. So if I can managed to get a chapter 12 on either story this week I'll push through. -

Right now I'm totally sleep deprived and caffeine empowered. All I've been doing in my free time for the past two weeks is writing and reading. I'm alt tabbing through opened google documents just adding roughs to 3 different stories. I seriously need my brain to breath, instead of this hyperventilating it's been doing. -

I appreciate that @Topher Lydon. As soon as I get caught up getting these words out of my head, I'll be on your side of the fence binging the newest Carter story you've got going. I've been holding off so I could spend some time in a chapter binge. -
Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
Definitely. Thank God I have so many gay romance tropes I can lean on, because we're trying them all. That's actually the hardest part, getting the overall plot to weave around them. -

It's not that bad, but I still had your latest story "Learned to Lie" in my head when I wrote the beginning of Chapter 2 lol. Edit: Also I wouldn't do anything to get on any of your lists because I'm low key afraid of you. -

Who knows maybe the moron jock boy will plow through Skylar's crusty exterior with a pick axe. Or his mother's crucifix. -

Skylar "Jordan River" Montgomery. I didn't want to Christian cliche his name. Although I tend to use a lot of biblically names myself for character names in certain stories because it's a part of me lol. I don't shun religion because I have my own faith, but I'll totally make fun of aspects of it lmao. She had high hopes with this one. I wasn't going to go full Catholic on this one when I wrote the character summaries, but too late now. Who knows maybe they'll get over each other by the end of the story lol. Chapter 3 though I dialed up the Catholic even worse so I'm not sure how many chapters that's going to take. It's borderline Crusades warfare now. So... yeah.- 51 comments

My Closet Had Better Lighting Than My Future
Jeff Burton posted new chapter in I'm Gay: A Nifty Story
So, you’ve read the first part of my story. I don’t think I need to walk you through how the rest of that first day went, well, you can fill in the blanks yourself. You’re probably wondering what happened when I got home. Maybe a gentle sit-down? A quiet, heartfelt conversation with affirming support? Yeah… no. Remember when I said my mom weaponizes scripture and scented candles? That wasn’t a metaphor. My mom is Catholic. How she ended up with my dad is anyone’s guess — but I’m- 51 comments

Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
Jeff Burton commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
It's actually the unpublished feature I'm working on that I needed a break from. The emotional drain was causing problems so once I got past the two chapters causing the issue, I was able to relieve it a notch, but it's still a difficult story. It's only 7 or 8 Chapters but it needed to be written, you know for growth. I'll start posting the chapters and stuff once it's 100% done so it's not a distraction anymore. I will be switching back to Just Maybe, It's got a chapter that's almost fully done. Generally I write when I come home from work and it's almost always around two chapters of rough draft totaling 12 to 14k words. Then you know editing, changes, more editing then formatting so it fits here okay. -

All I can say is I’ve got tropes to use so who knows which one we’ll get end up with at the end. I love y’all’s comments but please keep in mind this story is meant to be raccoons in a dumpster satire, it’s meant to be fun, funny, and hopefully still have something that looks like a plot at the end of it. ❤️
