Yeah, I'm not sure why. I suggest going to http://www.latimes.com/ and finding the Bill Plascke column. He's an excellent writer - I only posted the beginning. Oh, Canada...BTW, the Canooks just won their gold in Hockey. What a helluva North American finish. Congrats to Canada!

Terrific Olympics, terrific hosts! Here's an excerpt from the LA Times leading sports columnist: There was a lot to like about these Olympics, but nothing more than the Canadian people. By Bill Plaschke It was after midnight, a week ago, the U.S. had earlier defeated Canada in a preliminary-round Olympic hockey game, the emptying streets wet, the mood soggy. I was returning from our nightly visit to the giant four-pronged Olympic flame with my 15-year-old daughter, Mary Clare, who was wearing an American flag like a cape, and a smile like a necklace. It was one of the first times she wore something that didn't represent her high school or favorite sports team. It was one of the first moments she may have realized the pride in being an American. And here came the Canadian. He appeared to be in his late 20s. He was wearing a scruffy beard, a pale bandanna, and wild stare. He jumped in front of Mary Clare on a darkened patch of sidewalk and started shouting. "Eh, eh, eh!" he said. She froze. Her brave and resourceful father also, um, froze. At which point the man stuck out his hand. "High-five, eh?" he said. "Great game, America. You won fair and square. We'll see you in the finals." Before disappearing into the shadows, the man looked back at me with what appeared to be a wink. "I know what you were thinking, but that's not how we do it here," he said. "We're Canadian." I thought of this incident later when, spying on Mary Clare's Facebook page as all brave and resourceful fathers should do, I came across a line about her Olympic experience that stunned me in its simple honesty. "I love Canada," she wrote. Come to think of it, so do I. Forget the medal counts and podium ceremonies, there was only one true winner here, the beauty and breadth of its land equaled only by the daily kindness of its people. Canada, you were gold. For two weeks, you lived your anthem, your hearts glowing like that moon that hung nightly over the Burrard Inlet, a light on the front porch of a house that felt like a home. Here's the complete column: http://www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/la-sp-olympics-plaschke28-2010feb28,0,4599199.column

I think Lou knows he isn't ready for anything close to a real relationship...for the time being. Who knows waaaaaaay down the road. Open relationships are not that uncommon...but they must be worked out - with all details covered - by both partners. I hosted a cocktail party a couple of nights ago and one friend recognized another guest from Adam 4 Adam (I think is the site). The guy he recognized is the other half of a 20 y.o. relationship. The bottom line: there are several ways to float your boats. I touched on the difficulties of two males mating in a very early chapter. We are genetically programmed to be the 'hunter' and that is a big challenge for two men being monogamous. I don't defend it; just the way it is IMHO. -
Happy Birthday, Tiff!

Young Kev's heart pings for teen lassies, but I'm sure Henry will find playmates when he starts UNLV. I'm happy that Jack Gamble has been given a second chance by the readers. Yep, Enric...happy family reunions. -
Now this is what I call metrosexual. Nothing like a hot group of guys - Chance Crawford, Ryan Phillippe, etc - hanging out by the runway. http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/44051015.html

And your comments/thoughts made my day. Thanks, Kevin. -
At my age, James, no one will want my kidneys. I do appreciate these suggestions. This trip will gobble up my credit card points but I'll be touring a part of Europe that I've always wanted to see. Thermal baths, beer...maybe a few cute gay boys (where do these BelAmi lads hang out?)...I look forward to my visit in mid-May.

Looking for reasonably-priced accommodations in good locations for a trip I'm taking this spring with a friend. We'll be visiting Budapest, Prague and Berlin. Any touristy hints about these destinations would be appreciated.

After the initial emotional eruption, Cray weighed the circumstances of the separation and leaned to his foster pops advice for support. I think the key was how he remembered the formative years with Jack. Never fear, Enric, you'll see more of Lou. Will danger be lurking when Spence visits Lou in Manhattan? The Russians seem to be neutralized. -

I'm also for happy endings...at least on the massage table. Thanks, Pete, for your comments and support. I hope the rest of the story lives up to your expectations. -
A WTF moment: http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/restaurants/article/759714--restaurant-promotes-sex-in-its-bathrooms On the other hand, maybe this could be a plotline.

"Drama Q" - LOL! I'm happy that Jack has been embraced by the readers. And I'm a hopeless romantic...so you knew that somehow a reunion might happen...any maybe, MikeL, with some rough spots. Also, this is resolving the cliffhanger for the ending of Desert Fantasies. Gotta be the longest ever at GA. -
Ditto. Next step is to get past the five forum postings hurtle. BTW, I checked out your profile - good looking dude!

These characters have become close to me - yes, friends. And I'm often surprised at what spontaneously happens to these guys when writing a chapter. I just 'go with the flow.' I promise you that there are still a few surprises ahead. -
Yikes, I can't believe it's been two years since I started this thread. Altho one day late, here's the best to y'all downunder in Oz! A great country with super people.

Maybe a baby cliffhanger, Kevin. There are obvious issues for the biological father and son to work out and the foster dads are keen to facilitate clearing the path. As Tiger, Connor and others point out - Cray has a terrific support group. -
I saw a tee at a party recently and had to have it. The front caption sez, Careful, or you'll end up in my novel. The cotton tee is ash gray and the lettering is black. I immediately checked out the source on the internet and bought two; one for me and one for an editor who helps me. Here's the company with the best price: http://www.whatonearthcatalog.com/whatonearth/Item_Careful-Or-Youll-End-Up-In-My-Novel-T-Shirt_AV1741T_ps_srm.html

CIA Analyzing Latest Terror Tape WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) - One day after claiming responsibility for the Christmas Day underpants bomber, Osama bin Laden appeared in a new terror tape today in which he claimed responsibility for the Balloon Boy hoax that held the nation spellbound last year. Hi JimmyZ, welcome to the group. Chapter 14 will be up tomorrow, 1/25 - 2300 GMT. The big challenge, maboi26, is how Jack and Cray can meet with a minimum of angst and drama...if that's possible. -

Yes, the OMG moment begins resolution to perhaps the longest cliffhanger in GA history. Thanks for your comments and interest in the different plotlines that intersect from time to time. These degrees of separation are very tight and Drew is the pivot point. As Bette Davis (Margo Channing in All About Eve) said, "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!" -
Happy Birthday, David! Here's to reading many more excellent stories from you in the future.

Lou is definitely into lustful encounters. The incident in NYC, however, gave him a BIG warning to be careful about who he's screwing around with (literally and figuratively). As Tiger suggests, he likes Spike and knows that his former lover has his 'number'. I think that theschnauzers hit it right: Spike is 'wicked smart.' No reason to alienate Lou...in that LGJ offered an olive branch...and, instead, figure out how to keep the peace. With Cray in his life, the past is now moot. -

Even tho Lou was a bit of a s**t with Spike, being the boss's son and having an AX Black Card has it's advantages. What Spike's feeling for Cray - and vice versa - is the real deal...but he realizes it's best to 'bury the hatchet' with Lou.
