Yes? example.. in the story you mention gadget, and a character moves it or something in a scene. in the world building entry, it might be an encyclopedia entry of the invention and use of gadget. This information needs to exist in some form, but breaks the flow of a story if you info dump it in the scene.

World Building is a special genre added to Gay Authors to group together the various elements that an author must develop for a speculative fiction story that occurs outside of our own experiences. The further outside the more that needs to be developed. However, modern audiences do not generally tolerate large amounts of exposition (Show, Don't Tell!). World Building genre is where you can post the various parts and pieces that aren't full on story, but fill your world for those that just want to know more but would slow down your story or be a cheesy infodump. You should NOT tag fiction stories with World Building genre. These tags are meant for story information and fragments in World Building category. Paul, I'm glad you are finding them useful! and 60 extra hours a week would be quite handy, yes. I write in bursts when time allows. work eats most of my time.... then the site eats a bunch and when what's left. some day. We have two more primary genres left before we start fresh again in 2024 with Adventure. I plan to work on some items for author outreach on genres during the holiday slowdown. I also plan to set something up so we can update older stories where the author is no longer active to take advantage of the newer genre options. And some more material on defining genres for people that are confused. After all, authors have some great opportunities to write in underpopulated sub-genres. (like Utopian or Steampunk or...)
