That was very brave of Nico. He took a big risk coming out just after meeting Andy. I really liked that it went so smooth. Nico and Andy? or Rex and Andy? or even Jackson and Andy? Or maybe all, who knows? 😂 -

An interesting short story. Well worth a read!

I thoroughly enjoy Dodger's stories. "A night at the opera" had me fooled and made me chuckle when I realised what the author did. And I am always excited when there is a new chapter of "The Cockney Canuck". Robby and his friends/family really come to life. I think I never said anything bad about Nicola... I hope "A Soldier's Guide to Single Parenting" is a whole different story. Interesting writing to say the least, though I am a bit worried that it will get too dark for my taste. On the other hand Dodger seems to know how to keep his readers reading

Yay, Billy and Brett are back together! This was my first thought after waking up this morning. I read this chapter late last night, before falling asleep. Anyone think I may be invested a bit too deeply in this story?

I don't get it. A young boy that is planning out his sexual activities and nervous about it? I would think that 2 young people that like each other (sexually) would naturally start things. All from playfulness and curiosity. Show me yours..., a kiss, a grope, a giggle and from that it can progress. The thinking and planning comes after that, when they realise they are playing a powerful game. At least I have never heard about boys planning their first playtime. It just happened.

Joey and Dustin impressed me. And I am so happy you didn’t make Brett take Billy back with one short talk. Billy’s mom keeps an asperger diagnosis from him? What the hell was she thinking? Even if she did not want to label him, she could at least have explained and coached him. Instead she did nothing... hmm I guess Billy does take after his mother. -

I loved the road trip and the setup that Brett prepared. Billy being stranded is what he deserves. But will Brett turn around? It is very tempting to go on without Billy...

I agree. One could think most readers are hopeless romantics, but the level of forgiveness is ridiculous. Just walk right back in as if nothing happened....after all these years. Liz is the only one making sense in this story...

Eric behaves as a first class arrogant *sshole. Someone is spending his time to try to get to know him and if possible help him. Eric is doing nothing to make this easier for Andy. I am thinking the fact that he is lonely is entirely his own fault.

@BuzI think you are way too apologetic for Ryder. It seems your opinion is that everybody else needs to walk, be accepting, etc but him. It seems it is ok for you, that Ryder is enabling/causing distance between Teddy and his friends? These were the people who were there for Teddy. You seem to support the additional damage that Ryder is doing, just because he is depressed/forlorn. Ryder has had 14 years to make amends and did nothing. He deserves a lot more than a few slaps! Even if Ryder is not in the right mindset to really get it all (your alcoholic example) I state that it is not a binary thing. He can get big parts of it, just like an alcoholic. What he chooses to do with it is partly impaired by his illness and partly by his character.

Aiden was right. Billy handled it in a quasi mature way though. I am hoping Billy will not only be talk and will not choose the coward's way out, like he did so many times before. -
That is a pity. I would have loved to find out what Jack had been doing in the background to support the boys. Now it seems he is just a scumbag...

Don't you think that that is just Billy finally growing up? Realising that your town is not the center of the world, daddy is not superman, etc? And the similarities between B and J. You'd be amazed at what people don't see if it isn't spelled out to them. Billy knows, so he'll see it...
