  1. YAAAAAAAAAY! About bloody time is right! I know it's not going to be all unicorn and roses but I'm glad he's finally realized what everyone else has seen all along!

    Born to Run

I'm so glad the first draft ended up on the cutting room floor! That would have damaged CJ immesurably

    Local Hero

So with Chipper: like father like son. Maybe that's why he holds such a resentment to his dad?
  4. I recognized the always line immediately... FINALLY!! By the way, Carlos, all this team Owen stuff is your fault. You write an amazing character (okay two amazing characters) we all fall for, then insist on keeping them apart. I know sexual tension builds a good following, but you've been killing is here, and from your replies that's not letting up anytime soon. Boo you sadistic writers! Great job on the chappy 😗 We harrass you cuz we care
  5. CJ needs to stop being a blockhead. Repeat after me: falling in love is ok.
  6. The end of that chapter was so freaking hot!! 🔥🔥🔥I love the idea of porn talking Dom CJ. And you leave it up to the reader to decide how they ended up in that position, so to say
  7. Why did I just get a horrible premonition when I read the end of that chapter. Don't you dare do anything to Harley if you know what's good for you. That sounded way too much like a motorcycle accident waiting to happen. God I hope I'm wrong
  8. I'm going to love getting more insight into our boys. The road trip gives the perfect means for philosophical discussions and other conversations that may not come up natural, like the lack of sexual attractions Harley feels. I was beginning to wonder in the last book if he was asexual. There's not much ace representation in literature, but with your wonderfully diverse world I had a feeling someone would be
  9. Trip was born in 1885! The same year Marty and Doc roamed the wild west! And damn, that boy looks good for his age 😙
  10. Thank you so much for the insight into CJs feelings. A nice little recap of events to boot. I see we're drawing to a close of CJs hectic first year... I just love this whole series. It plays out like a TV series, and I love that

Lol @ Donald trump. Damn you and your political prediction. Don't you hate always bring right?

    Born to Run

A little Deus ex machina there, but I'm soooo glad they didn't get to drug him and use him. Jose has been a strange character this whole series. I was never quite sure what to make of him. I'm glad Shawn realized that just cuddling was what CJ needed. Painful but good chapter.
  13. Of all of CJs potential boyfriends, I have fallen the hardest for Owen. Maybe because of the way you wrote their budding relationships, and Owen seems to be the closest one that CJs started to fall in love with. My mind knows they can't be right now, but my heart says PLEEEEEASE! I was just thinking when I started Winter, that this series has been strange not only in the fact that the protagonist doesn't have a boyfriend, but doesn't really WANT a boyfriend. I thought all newly out teens wanted to find the love of their lives right away. Like you've said many times before, though, this ain't your typical teen story, The part that showed CJs maturity the absolute most in this chapter wasn't his decision to say no to Owen, it was when he was talking to Chipper. Chipper asked him to talk about Owen and his trip, and he could have started gushing about this amazing guy, or how great Australia was, or how he went through two boxes of condoms, instead he says basically, nevermind we'll catch up on that later, first tell me how YOU are adjusting to the move. That is a very adult way of thinking. Life returns and drama ensues. Welcome back to the real world. I can't wait to see Owen return next year. But one way or another, I really do want to see CJ fall in love. I think having a boyfriend needs to be a part of every teenagers life. First love can be so exciting, even if it doesn't last. Just my two cents. Great job, Carlos
  14. I keep calling him Ben... sorry about that

    Ramrod

Not necessarily smut, but more like what happened with him in Australia. I understand starting to think of him as your own kid tho
  16. Did I read that right? Owen mentioned that he would be spending the next three years around these people (the americans). Is Owen moving state side for a bit?
  17. Ok, papa bear Ben is really getting annoying. His son has a puppy crush on a cute, friendly, non stranger. He's of legal age of consent. Papa needs to check himself and fast
  18. The t-shirt link in the comments is dead I noticed you haven't included CJs nicknames on the cast list: Miami and Ramrod!
  19. Ok... so you just spent Christmas 2017 with me! I literally spent all day reading this story. I love every character you have created in this world, and you are an extremely talented author and linguist. I am loving watching CJ grow up. I did have to say though, I'm kind of surprised h that Ben turned out to be more of the mother hen than César turned out to be. I had to laugh when CJ asked what having his gay cousin and his bf had to do with "going down" ... really, CJ? I bet there's lots of going down at that house all the time! Now... on to the magical land of OZ

I would have liked to experience CJ's first time through his eyes and thoughts as opposed to after the fact. I also agree that it wasn't all Dragons fault, but highly charged, chemically enhanced, sexual situations with your significant others often lead to hurt feelings and blaming. I only wish I wasn't speaking from experience.
  21. Did you know the formatting got screwy? The whole last half of the chapter is in italics. And what's with asking josé-maría on a date in just a small cutaway paragraph before moving on? As always, good chapter
  22. Won't be the last One?!? Say it ain't so, Joe, say it ain't so. You've made these characters so real and lifelike it would be an absolute gut shot if one of the main characters die. But writers are masochistic and diabolical so I won't hold it against you (too much)
  23. I think with autumn being straight, and never having to deal with the closet and discrimination herself, it didn't quite dawn on her that maybe some people there wouldn't be comfortable discussing their labels, especially when, I'm sure, some of them are still trying to figure it all out. She is a well intentioned liberal who doesn't always see things from the people she likes to fight for, which I think is common on the far left. I'm glad CJ stood up like he did. I also like how you are keeping us guessing on Harley's sexual orientation (my bet is still straight... Maybe heteroflexible) Good job, Carlos!
  24. I love how you end the days with the little snippets between Ben and César. It really cements how much these two love each other. Sometimes sex, but sometimes just cuddling, and always with their terms of endearment. The funeral was very nicely done. It captured the pain of the moment without being overbearing. It could have been easy to get lost in the funeral and have it drag on too long. Especially with it being a minor character that we hadn't met until her death, it was the perfect balance. I'm seeing Harley has a really good friend. You haven't touched on his sexuality yet, but I get straight boy vibes. Even if he is gay though, I don't see him as boyfriend material for our boy, but definitely a strong ally. Thanks for the chappy, mate!
  25. Am I the only one who thinks everyone's overreacting to CJ hooking up like he did? He didn't do it in public, he set his boundaries and stuck to them, he's proven he can handle himself, he's mature and he did something almost every gay man has done at some point, and then didn't lie about it when confronted by his parents. I can understand the Dad's acting overprotective, but some of these comments on here just come off as "holier than thou". Good chapter, C. You are continuing to build some very complex and realistic characters. I think Tom's parents and priest may be a little caricatura-ish, but then again there some people who really feel that way. As far as CJ leaving the best, I know from the titles of future stories that I don't have to worry about that. The advantage of coming upon (a really good) series well into it's run. Let's me worry about story lines that deserve worrying about.
