  1. Chet made a couple of mistakes here, but it makes for good drama. I know Chet didn't intentionally conceal what happened with Arron, but it wasn't smart at all.
  2. I'm glad you addressed the coming out. When they were at the restaurant on their first date i was thinking to myself that he seemed non chalent about hugging and kissing in public for being a cop in the closet.
  3. Ian, Ian, Ian. You just can't take a hint, can you? Hopefully this gives Chet some closure. I think he should also tell Arron about EVERYTHING that happened. Knowing your characters and how honest they are, he will do the right thing.
  4. Aww... I love the banter and flirting between these two. This felt like a legitimate first date, maybe with the exception of the narrative necessity of practically declaring their undying love already. Love at first sight? Maybe. Something is definitely there though.
  5. Men are pigs, but we love bacon! (Hey, that could be a cop joke too!) I think these two are going to be good for each other
  6. I have a huge smile on my face right now! That was too cute for words. I'm taking a little break from CotT and thought I'd check out this side story. Hopefully there aren't any real spoilers.
  7. **standing ovation**
  8. What an emotionally exhausting chapter! Michael is most definitely Kendalls guardian angel. He can't be pure human... He's just too amazing. 👼l
  9. I think what would bother me about my fathers sudden turn around is, if he could change now, why couldn't he twenty years ago. If my Dad was just a prick and that's who he was to his core, at least that makes the years of emotional abuse explainable. Now it would kind of piss me off that the good guy was in there but hidden all along. The love these boys have for each other radiates from the pages. You should be proud of that.
  10. I know you like your happy endings, but I was just as skeptical as Deuce during that whole exchange. I'm glad it all worked out though. His Dad is kind of a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde right now. I love that you see the good in everyone and show that no one is beyond redemption.
  11. I think that was a natural stopping point, and I was thinking that he needed to tell mom before he told Dad, so I think the chapter ended perfectly.
  12. I want to say "poor Kendall" because of the situation with his father, but that doesn't quite fit. K is incredibly blessed but has to deal with a conflicting, yet heart-wrentching situation. Ace is all in, with a full house in hand (Aces full of Deuces). I like his odds right now!
  13. I like that you left Chet and Kendalls conversation up to the readers imagination. I also like the little cutaways from the boys, like staying with the parents after they left and that glimpse of Chet after the phone call.
  14. Aww, young love. They are so sweet together. I may need to see a dentist after reading this chapter
  15. Finally! But now how are you going to fill 50 chapters of drama? Should I be worried about my boys?
  16. I don't know if I can take 60-some chapters of this. Will they/won't they works for a little bit, but it can get drug out too long. I'm going to keep plugging, but I hope something gets (partially) resolved. Hope that didn't come off too bitchy. You know I love you, Gary!
  17. Go Mom!! The lightbulb finally turns on. Now how to find and fix things with his best, er, I mean, boyfriend.
  18. I'm glad Kendall was honest and upfront to Chet. I like Chet, but Michael seems perfect in every way. Does that man have any flaws??
  19. Men can be so slow sometimes. Michael, my dear, you are totally in love. Just sayin'.
  20. Ah, the noble self sacrifice. The martyr syndrome. When someone is certain that they know what the other person thinks when they actually have no clue. This was a strong start and look at how far you've come in three years. I'm looking forward to delving into Ace and Deuce!
  21. Thank you for this sweet and charming short story. I really love your writing style.
  22. You may love writing dialogue, but your exposition is top notch. The vivid imagery you invoke without being over the top is something I've noticed and wish I could emulate. I'm working on my first story that I hope to publish here, and I'm actually getting writing tips just by reading your work. 🤗
  23. The prison walls around Drake's heart start to slowly crumble. Can Jimmy finally help them come crashing down? So Jimmy is human after all. Glad to see a little fight in him. Supportive is great, but sometimes a guy needs hard truth from his friends. I loved the dance switch, and how everything Jimmy touches seems to exude romance and hope. Damn, I've caught up to real time. Now I have to wait like everyone else. I am hoping for some sparks to fly in the next chapter! Keep it up!
  24. That conversation was amazing. I could feel the tightness in my chest, so I can just imagine what those boys felt. I actually don't hate Richard. He is trying his best. He made some dumb mistakes, but haven't we all. It sucks to be in love with two people at the same time. Richard is probably a Kinsey 2, and Drake was collateral damage. I think the bi thing is a cop out. Would he have handled it better if Richard had left him for another man? The last dinner date was a very dick move, but I truly felt Richards anguish. No matter what Drake thinks of ”closure" he needed this conversation. He also needs to keep Richard at arms length. I love this story.
  25. Boy, Drake is frustrating. He sees everything in black and white and has no self-esteem. He seems to live in perpetual pitty, anger, and closed mindedness. Yet despite that all I still like him and really hope he grows as much as his mother has. Strong chapter here!
