"They're blood suckers, and murderers. And some of them, I assume, are nice people" Oh my God! Could Vlad "suggest" he become a competent President?

I have finally caught up with real time. I have really enjoyed these stories. Although involving the Pentagon worries the bejeesus out of me.

I'm glad I stuck with this. I almost have up after Brett was killed. The pacing at that point felt very slow yet very rushed at the same time. It seemed to be chapter after chapter of goo goo baby eyes at our main characters and little else. Then from the point of the kidnapping on the pace improved dramatically, new characters were all over the place and it became a vampire series. I even remember thinking before that, that there just didn't seem to be any vampirism in a vampire book. In the end, the story lines came into gear and I really feel some fun times have been set up. I hope keeping Marissa alive isn't a mistake that comes back to bite them in the [neck]. Great mix of human and non human characters. I'm glad I kept with it and I'm looking forward to the next book. You have honored Daniel completely with this work.

This was a very unique and powerful story. I always enjoy stories that show different perspectives on life. Aaron was an amazing character with such a good heart. The way you wrote Brian's parents impressed me as well. Firm in their religious convictions at first without being too characater-ish, then a realistic conversion to acceptance. Two things seemed odd to me though. After the lawsuit settlement the money was never mentioned again, and the boys felt they needed summer jobs, and both boys seemed to act surprised and hesitant at how much things cost. Secondly, im pretty sure you gave Brian two guitars. One from his parents and then the one from the GSA, but with the second guitar it's given the impression that it was the only one he had. Overall it was a compelling story, with several touching moments. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Very good story so far. I like vampire stories that aren't "traditional". Where I'm having a hard time stretching my suspension of disbelief is not in how accepting Devon is but in how perfectly good Colin is. His complete aversion to taking life and the way he owned his plantation just has me going "really??” Of course if he's based off your husband (and I'm sorry for your loss) then I guess it makes sense. Good story so far!

Let’s Leave Everyone Hanging
Potterslashfan commented on Dayne Mora's story chapter in Let’s Leave Everyone Hanging
I guess this was a real appropriate name for this chapter after all. Damnit, I hope Dayne is ok and that he'll be back some day. -
My favorite chapter so far! I love love love love the South Park reference. Yay man-bear-pig!

I ♥️ Preston so hard!!!!! Everyone needs a gay bff attack Twink on their side!
-
You built that sexual tension so perfectly! I could feel the horny/scared/excited emotions building to an amazing creciendo. Wow.

Tyler is such a sweet cinnamon roll! Connor better realise what a find he is, baggage and all
-
If only he had taken Connor up on his offer to stay there. It's not good to start of a relationship with lies

Good chapter setting up lots of questions to be answered. The personalities behind both Connor and Tyler surprise me. I thought they would have been reversed, with Connor bring the good, respectful, student and Tyler being tough around the edges, but I like the dynamic you set up. One critique: the transition from Connor's point of view to Tyler's was very sudden and abrupt. It changed scenes without letting the reader know you were changing scenes. One paragraph at Connor's table the next at Tyler's locker.

West wing is one of my favorite shows of all time. I can see CJ becoming a president very much in the style of Jed Bartlett. Hopefully without a chronic disease or . How is a gay presidents husband refered as? First Husband? Sounds too much like a divorce has happened. Hmmmm things to ponder.
-
Have you planned out how many books you are going to have for CJ? Is the next one the last one or do you see it continuing open ended? 2032 or later could take a lot of books... Not to mention the 8 years beyond that
-
Fiance, huh? Guess we know what's coming up in CJ VII!❤️❤️

Man that last chapter was hard to read. Not because of you but because having to relive that night and feeling exactly the way that CJ feels. BTW, did you keep your first draft of this chapter when you wrote her winning? That might make an interesting "deleted scene" for the DVD extras when the complete series is released. This by far has been the most consistent, thought out, realistic (ish), story/series I have ever read on GA. Normally, I find myself nitpicking either the plot, the grammar, cringing at any attempt to integrating sports, or mentally pointing out every anachronism the writers put in by not doing research or being lazy. I have come across none of that whatsoever over the past week that I have been binge reading your instant classic of a series. You, your editors, and your betas are to be commended. You are an inspiration to me as I try to write my first story. It has been an absolute pleasure going on this ride and I can't wait until the next book.

I have to wonder if a lot of the animosity towards the politics of this book has to do with the outcome we know will happen. So many people feel let down by Mrs Clinton and reading this is admittedly painful in that regard. Had the results been different I think people would be much more open to the story line of his book. That being said, you have never hidden where this story was heading, and I still say you're fantastic at creating "augmented reality"... Historical fiction in real time. Stick with your voice and your story, C!

I'm glad CJ was thinking with his right head. I still hope Ozzie is, although there's something up with his reluctance to talk about work
-
Please, please, please tell me that the extra night in the hotel was legit and not just an excuse. We've all heard, sorry the boss made me stay before. It's taken me until this book to not worry about one of the boys slipping every time they do separate things. I'm afraid their relationship has been a little too easy (short of the one hiccup)

The train had just reached my stop as I finished the chapter... It was cute, and I had a huge smile on my face!
-
Your books have been a great escape from real world politics which are normally like a bad train wreck for me. I can't look away even when I want to. I just realized tonight it has been 4 days since I've checked what kind of damage the Cheeto in Chief has caused. Thank you for the distraction.

2 things: 1) I hope CJ, no matter how modest he is, can appreciate his "Forrest Gump" type life. I was just imagining the CGI or the huge cameos that would have to be recruited if this were on TV or movies. 2) thank you, thank you, thank you for including the latest info to help destigmatize HIV. It is so true, undetectable = untransmitable. I love how you incorporate accurate, real life in your story, especially the sports. The best part? My Royals are about to win the World Series!!!

Please remind me, how old is Liz? I'd she closer to Richie's age or CJs? A long, but fun chapter. We covered a lot of ground (literally). CJ is so uptight about proper labels and not rushing his relationship, unfortunately I think that makes him more hesitant to move forward than he should be. They've been official for about 8 months now and they've been crazy about each other for two years, and he still hasn't said those three magic words. Hopefully, that doesn't come back to bite him. I think Ozzie's starting to wonder about his place with CJ just a little bit. He strikes me as someone who would want a little spoken validation from time to time

Thank you for not extending that fight for more than one chapter. It's good to see our boys fight then kiss and make up. I love this series, Carlos. The pacing is perfect, the plots (mostly) believable, the characters are so life like. The story has so many layers and just the perfect amount of twists and cliffies.

I'm still holding my judgment on Ethan in reserve. Being friends with someone who has actively pursued your bf is a recipe for disaster. Anytime I've known a commuted couple where one of them ended up slipping, it was always with a friend of the couple's. Just sayin' That being said, all four rooms are gonna be screaming! Wonder which coupling is the loudest? 😈
