There is personal, and then, there’s stuff that’s not personal. Boundaries are good to have, and Mason Knight believes he knows the difference well, as he has known for a long time. That, until one weird day, he finds himself moved by music, jumped by a man who could make the heavens sigh with his looks, and … what else? Ah, a ghost suddenly wants to keep him company. As someone whose parent left at a young age never to come back, I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or a bad thing if adults realize - no matter how late - that they have a responsibility in life to know and care for their children. In the story, Jett's dad did keep a connection, by coming home each year and being, at least somewhat involved in his son's life. -
You can't imagine what's going on with me when I'm writing certain things. Chuckling in front of the screen by myself surely isn't a sign of good mental health, lol!

I think that's a recurring theme in my stories, and that's because it's something I notice every day. People use social conventions and most often don't say what they think. That affects the communication that should happen in private, as well. -
I've never thought of dweeb being a strong word. Actually, I got the idea for using it from an anime where a guy says that about the boy he likes.

I don't exactly what wire in my head says that choke couldn't be the correct word, so I change it, lol! Edited now, and probably I will remember it from now on. Glad you enjoyed the story!
