    Good Eggs

It's funny that I'm currently writing about doggos when I'm totally a cat person, lol. But that exaggeration with perfume and whatnot is something I hate, too. There are no distinctive notes anymore if you douse yourself with it! Where I live, we consider that a lack of manners... Ryder's nose doesn't lie!
  2. Ryder-Danny sounds like a good name for a team! Thank you for your comments! They are all much appreciated! Also, under a dog is a great pun. Very accurate. Outstanding. Chef's kiss.
  3. I don't think I'd ever be so cruel to readers - and/or my characters - to throw that much of a big fat red herring... But it's nice to have a bit of doubt, I guess it makes things a bit more exciting, a bit more interesting. And I love it when readers join a character in his ups and downs, and in this case, Ryder when he likes Danny's smell, and Danny, when he feels so attracted to this stranger who seems too good to be true!
  4. S for Serenity... he-he-he... sometimes it might be S for s-chaos, or shenanigans... One thing that often motivates me to write something is that I can't find the sort of story I'd like to read while browsing through various offerings in a certain genre or sub-genre. And I just like the idea of a 'fish out of the water'. Then I had the image of a wolfshifter coming to a big city and having sort of a cultural shock. After came the idea of an anchor in this chaotic world, and that was how Danny formed himself in my mind... and after, the story happened!
  5. Yes, there will be clues! The only POV will be Lyn's, but even so, from the corner of one eye, or simply through what is said, I'm sure the readers will come up with their own conclusions Or speculations! Just saying!
  6. Lyn is very good at tormenting himself without any help! But yes, he's going to develop a hopeless crush... and he's going to keep to it.
  7. Hey, it might be a sound strategy, lol! You might even earn yourself a nickname - that guy who carries stuff! Also, it might serve as an icebreaker... such as... why are you called that? :))
  8. Chapter Two – [Memory, Freshman Year, September] – The One A Rulebook for Arguments, An Introduction to the Study of Law, Logic: A Very Short Introduction… It looked like he had everything he needed to start his already packed schedule. Lyn balanced the textbooks on his arm, while struggling to get the hair out of his eyes and push his glasses up on his nose so they didn’t end up shattering on the polished floor. Hell knew where he’d get the money for new ones if that happened. Tangle
  9. It's going to be an interesting meeting, and that's all I promise!
  10. Like Occam's razor, yes, I'm happy someone thought of this. Pembroke is essential for the story, too, and he also holds some clues that will help Ryder distinguish the truth better and better.
  11. That's one important question! And they will have to go down that path at one point...
  12. Pembroke will have his own fair share of revealing to do... Ryder will learn a thing or two.
  13. Jack has all the cards, he can't be lied to :))
  14. Cassandra is more of a witch, and I'm saying it with all the lack of love I can muster. Ryder will actually hear some hard truths about her from the least expected source...
  15. That would solve the entire plot in about two paragraphs! Hmm, let me check Jack's cards real quick. Nope, it's not going to be so easy
  16. Jack will continue to wear him down... and so will his growing attraction toward Danny.
  17. I find it sometimes that people with a consistent moral backbone also tend to be a bit rigid in their views. Ryder doesn't allow himself to have doubts because of the curse he knows of. It's something along the lines of: 'if it were only about me, I'd listen to my heart, but it's not, and I can't be selfish'.
  18. In this story, maybe more than in others, the characters are bound by fate. Ryder may protest all he wants and doubt Jack's cards and what they say, but fate will play out as it intends. The great reveal of Ryder's nature to Danny will happen in a moment of high emotional intensity, and I like to think you'll agree with me that it is just right (or how fate intended, lol - I can always say 'fate made me do it'). Vince will have his own reveal moment, but not I'll shut up
  19. Oh, gosh, I had to go to YT to hear the Brummie accent! I hadn't thought about it, but he would sound so cute if he talked like that, lol! Thank you for your kind words, all the best to you, too!
  20. Chapter Thirteen – The True Touch of a Lover The usual light pollution of the city made it impossible to see the stars, but things were different here on top of the building where Danny lived. After Vince and Jack had left, Ryder had waited patiently for his host to go to sleep. Listening to the soft sound of Danny’s breathing brought peace to his heart, but at the same time, lying so close to the one he desired so much against the fate destined for him transformed quickly into pure torture
  21. Correct! That's why we don't have to worry about a picture... but about having a different sort of problem.
  22. You just said two truths out of three
  23. We might not go down this hard... But problems are on the horizon!
  24. Oh, we'll go deeper into Hearst's thoughts from now on. And I love myself writing a good banter... I might live for it!
