A little update. Mom has improved somewhat. She is off of the oxygen and is able to take her meds orally and can eat and drink if she's fed. She was singing/humming. She's qualified for hospice and will most likely be going back to my brother's house tomorrow with those services in place. Mentally I've been prepared for this for a while. Emotionally, it's tough. @mollyhousemouse, I thought of you the other day when my best friend told me about her son's road trip to help out one of his friend's with the driving for his move to San Diego. They wanted to see a few different places along the way and he described the trip as: "Went through CT, NY, PA, WV, saw Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. Then drove through Texas, and drove through Texas, then drove through Texas before we finally drove through Texas."😆 Pretty sure they had no clue Texas would be half their trip. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

It's been mentioned that besides Elijah’s parents, Tyler is the only one who knows about his ability (pay attention! 🤣) It would be interesting to see how they react 🤔

One of the things I've discovered as I evolve in my writing style is that I'm pretty comfortable doing chapters in the 4-5k range. That being said, I also like to challenge myself. I wrote two back to back stories where I kept the chapters in 5k territory. My biggest challenge so far was last year's flash fiction. Limiting a story word count to 1k is really hard when you're used to being able to ramble on. It was a fun learning experience and it turned out well. It's one of my favorites. Overall, it's whatever you're comfortable with.

Mom has improved a little bit. They are going to evaluate for hospice which she should qualify for. Honestly it is the best option. The goal is to get Mom back to my brother's house and make her comfortable. We don't see her getting back to being able to walk but are hoping she can at least be transferred from a bed to a chair for several hours a day for as long as she can tolerate it. I have a feeling this is going to be a drawn out process. Mom is stubborn like that. My husband and I have a trip planned in September. Our first real vacation in 30 years. I'm looking forward to it and yes, I have travel insurance just in case.

Now that the laptop has been found I truly hope everyone can just let go of the obsession. Truthfully, the laptop's role with merely be a catalyst for the next part of the story. The boss knows Kage is dead and we'll find out more about him in a couple of chapters. Be patient. Kage will not manifest physically or as a ghost. His energy is what will be an advantage for Elijah.

Well, they did win the Super Bowl so it wouldn't be a stretch to have them annihilate Seattle. But I'd be nice and make it after Jay's retirement

Let's clarify an important fact. I am not a soccer mom. I am a band mom. In a pinch I'll lay claim to baseball mom. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Long words are fun. But for now I'll stay away from the medical terminology. Unfortunately it looks as though my mom needs hospice care. My brother and I have a meeting with the care team today. We've seen it coming for a while, and mentally I'm prepared. It's the emotional part that's difficult.

Elijah's inner Kage is still in its infancy and will developed, but probably not how everyone wants.

After the third story I'll take a little break (maybe, depends on the voices). Then I might revisit the Berkshire boys. Ian's friend Jase has been whispering lately. Who knows?

There are so many ways I can go with this. I'm loving the theories.

Elijah and Tyler have a level of trust that exceeds the highest level of trust between friends. They're going to need it. You'll just have to wait to find out how the meeting goes.

If I did that, the story would be over much too soon. I've barely started the last one in the series.
