Both my husband and younger son have gotten an eyeful of what is best kept covered. We just do what we need to do. For us women, its akin to giving birth. At anytime depending on the situation you can have a dozen eyes looking at bits that are normally out of sight. Dignity goes out the window when a baby enters the world and when dementia creates a lack of awareness.

I do not miss in any way, shape, or form the horrid heat and humidity that turns Florida into Dante's Inferno every summer. So far we have had maybe a total of 10 or 12 days that have been in the 90s and only a handful that reached that dreaded "feels like" temp of over 100. Other than an irritating allergy headache, I am determined to make today a good day. Hope everyone has a good day too!

I get it. Certain people in his family think that because we don't contribute financially to the extra nursing aide care that they hired, we are freeloaders. They don't realize how much we spend a month on extra groceries, cleaning products (she's mostly incontinent and one sister buys Depends) and a myriad of other small things that add up. If they had to pay for full time care for her, plus yard service and whatever handyman is required to handle all the issues that arise with the upkeep of the house, it would bankrupt them. We gave up our life, jobs and friends in Florida to move back and live with a woman with progressive dementia. But apparently it's not enough. His sisters are stupid.

I also don't have my beta reader who has been with me since my first story. I miss him.

I'm living it right now. I went through it with Mom until she died in 2022. Now we are living with my mother-in-law who has rapidly declined since the spring. The past couple of weeks have been especially challenging. Throw in siblings who don't seem to get it and that communication has to happen and it's a recipe for a stress disaster. Luckily one of his sisters has pulled her head out of her ass and has arranged for someone to come in on the three mornings where me and my husband aren't able to assist her. Some days she's okay and can mostly do things for herself with prompting, other days she's a toddler who will put her clothes on backwards, inside out, and mismatched. We get no reprieve and I explicitly asked his sister to occasionally come and take care of their mom on a Sunday so we can get out and have a break. We'll see how that goes. Dementia is a cruel bitch.

Yeah.... I actually started this story in third person and decided to switch after 3 chapters. I had to go back and change everything. Third person is my usual go-to so I'm not surprised it slipped in. That's what my editing team is supposed to catch but @Mrsgnomie had things going on this week. Life happens. And @astone2292 missed it too. He's also been suspiciously quiet. Things are going to start moving along. As far as which direction.....there's no compass capable of pinpointing it.

Hello! Welcome to the Korner Krew where conspiracy theories and sarcasm abound! Hopefully @weinerdog didn't eat all the snacks. If he did we'll have to muzzle him again.

The trust from Miles grandparents was already established so nothing changes with that. It wasn't a life changing amount. I never decided on a figure because if it's enough to cover 4 years at a state college or university, then it could very well be 5 figures, maybe low six at most. The identity theft has been taken care of. It's already been mentioned that the Porters aren't pressing charges so there's nothing the police can do Miles didn't use the identity for financial gain. Again, I wasn't going to get bogged down by the little details.

For the sake of the story not getting bogged down in minute details I had to make it easy. Also...Kyle gets mentioned in the next chapter. I just didn't have time to stick a reunion scene in there.

I am elated to see that I have have conditioned the Krew to go down the darkest paths and that nothing is off limits.

Yes, Miles father is in jail. As is his mother. Neither of them will be getting out any time in the near or even distant future.

I will drop a little tidbit. There is a smidge of foreshadowing in this chapter but it's extremely subtle. It'll be interesting to see see who picks up on it when it becomes relevant later on.
