Oh... you're gonna be surprised all right... Fair warning... it's going to blindside you.

I was forced to go to funerals for obscure relatives at a young age. I got a bit freaked out seeing a dead person when I was about 7. Why anyone thought it was a good idea to expose young kids to wakes and funerals, I have no idea. I rather like the generic Celebration of Life services that are more common now. We did have to have a Catholic service for my mom. Despite my lack of belief in an afterlife(religion in general) , none of my siblings or I wanted to risk Mom's ghost haunting our asses til the end of days. The priest was Asian with a heavy accent and I almost lost it when he referred to her as "our brother".. omg.. took everything in me not to bust out laughing.

I can't believe how crowded the Korner is....
-
Omg... just ... NO. 🤢 Try not to step in any wildebeest poop on your way back to the Korner.

I wouldn't even know where to start if I had to describe some of the conversations that have taken place.

I had to look up this word: shovel verb 1 : to take up and throw with a shovel 2 : to dig or clean out with a shovel Literally had a couple in here this morning who A) asked if we were open while standing in front of the open reception window poking their heads in And B.... complained that it's too cold. It's 60 degrees... going up to 75 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I can already see how today is gonna go. 😆

Why am picturing the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man?

Sounds yummy. Hot cross buns... nothing more effing annoying than that song being butchered by a 10yr old with a recorder. 😬🤯

It felt like it was snowing in my office this afternoon. A part was fried on (the brand new) A/C compressor last week. The A/C company fixed it (under warranty) on Friday and for whatever reason none of us realized they set the temperature at 64. WTF? I thought it was a little cold-ish yesterday, but figured it was because it was too warm last week. I'm rarely cold nowadays... I was shivering and had goosebumps. We reset it so it should be okay tomorrow. My toes and nose are still thawing out. I think this might be the last of our cool mornings until next fall. Maybe. I just hope the summer isn't as brutal as last year. And we don't have any hurricanes in our area. It's supposed to be an above-average season do we'll see.

I used to tell myself I should write a book about all the idiot customers I've dealt with. Now very few people actually read anymore so I'd have to go the podcast route... no thanks. I prefer my dark little cave where I can hide from them. You know everything has gone to hell in a handbasket when the short bus has turned into a convoy. In my neck of the woods there are way too many knuckleheads who put the "duh" in Florida.😆 Have a good day everyone!

She told me she was going to continue their story. I smell a lie. 🤣 This was a really cute story. -

So powerful in so few words. Sanity cannot be bought. It is won through through grit and determination. Most us of us fight for it on a daily basis in some way. Our world is constantly evolving and changing. Humanity will most likely be long gone from its bonds by the time the sun goes supernova. The best we can do is to make our mark while we're still here. You always make me think tim. Thank you for jump-starting my noggin today. ❤️

This is about where I am on the matter. There should be a distinct division between professional life and personal life. However, Jamie's has intersected which serves the purpose of blurring that line. Mike says: “No pretending, please. You’ve woken up every night since you came home. I do notice, you know.” Not only does he notice something is different, he acknowledges that he's concerned and bothered by the exclusion. Mike knows that Jamie can not share details of his job. I think he's hurt that Jamie is hiding something from his personal life. This was an important chapter for me because it allowed me to connect more with Mike. For the past few chapters he's felt more like a co-star rather than a main character, so thank you for bringing him back into the spotlight.

Wear your green and enjoy a pint if you're so inclined. I'll be packing... again. I may partake of one of my Bailey's flavors from the sampler pack we bought... less to pack up in the long run. Have a good day!

Kbois Law of Packing states: Thou shalt not open any closed box/container having positively been identified as belonging to one of your offspring when they were young. It is guaranteed to contain something you wish you didn't find. Baby teeth. At least a dozen of them. I did not stop to count. I have no idea which child saved them, but I have my suspicions. 🤦♀️

Most often the ones that the general public needs protection from are themselves. Too much information tends to create chaos amongst the masses... just look at our world today. Parents skewer the truth all the time to protect their kids. Law enforcement couching the truth is very similar.

I absolutely agree that Jamie should not divulge anything pertaining to his assignment. In my experience, most companies I've worked for have policies on information sharing and blurting out details of anything considered sensitive or proprietary is a big no-no, as I know you are aware. However, there is no reason other than Walker's directive that he "not tell anyone" about his abilities. For Jamie's own sense of sanity, he needs someone in his corner to give him support and I don't get the warm fuzzies from Walker.
