I hear ya. I'm at the halfway point of the 2nd story in my shifter series and I'll have to re-read parts of Spirit Wolves after I finish this chapter. The fates of the universe will guarantee that if I screw something up, mess up the time-line or misquote a character it will get pointed out by a reader. Y'all are too damn smart. 🙄 🤣

Cassie will be back. Don't you worry your pretty little head.😉😅 My car is 13 years old. Gonna drive it til it dies. Why carry a car payment when we don't have to. It gets me from point A to point B. All that matters. (But yeah... a new one would be nice )

Cassie is definitely not for everyone. A bold character like her has to be strong. She needs the strength to handle the past. In sure it affects her ways we can't imagine. Wonder where she gets her sense of humor from? 🙄🤔

Great article. This is exactly what happened to me with the last story I posted. It languished in my docs for nearly three years before I dusted it off. I'm still not completely satisfied with it, however, during the finishing process the writing led to ideas for two subsequent stories. The one I'm currently working on is far better (imho). I think I needed to work through the first story in order to get to where I am in the overall story arc. Three years isn't too bad when the end result will be three stories in the series. Who knows, it may be even more eventually. An author never knows what secondary characters will start yelling inside their brains for a story of their own!

Up until this past week, this was the hardest chapter I'd ever written. Cassie-she is probably the strongest (mentally and emotionally) character I've written. Definitely one of my favorites. The gurl is made of steel. (And a whole lotta snark and sarcasm, part natural and part defense mechanism) I love your impression of Lex and his way of handling his abuse. Everyone deals with it differently and I'm glad you understood where he was coming from. Ian. Honestly, the way I hear his voice, it's a wonder I got through this story at all. 🔥 😊
