Well, shit. That's not good.

I fear losing AC more than I fear losing heat. It's no fun trying to just exist when the inside of any building is above 90F. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon, although working from home is a nice option.

I can't even bring myself to throw the author names in one hat and the story names in the other and pick one from each, thereby randomly matching them up in some sort of convoluted hodgepodge. I know two for sure, only because I wrote one, edited another and have a third fairly educated guess only because another author dropped a me a hint that was a dead giveaway. Other than that ....

I can't even fathom a guess at this years. My spreadsheet ended up looking like a hurricane spaghetti model. Also, why the hell have two guesses so far tagged me for both cat stories? Ugh. As if. Woof. Dog Power Rules!

I sincerely hope that no more appliances in this cursed house go belly up. After dropping $300 to replace the door on the washing machine, it cracked again because the door never hung right in the first place. So this time we just replaced the whole thing. Luckily, there is a store that sells "scratch and dent" models which are brand new but have some cosmetic flaws which we don't give a damn about. Even better, my niece's husband manages the store and was nice enough to knock $100 off of the price. It's an LG washer which is a good brand. So washer, new hoses, a mounting kit (the dryer stacks on top), taxes, delivery and haul away of the old one, it came out to $658. Brand new that model sells for $899. I think we got a good deal. It won't be delivered until Friday though. I think we can manage until then. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

AI has its uses. I used it to create the picture for this story (and theres a reason for the sunset that will become clear as the story progresses). But it does have its limitations. I think most authors take at least some liberties with some details of their stories. It's what is referred to as artistic license.

Funny thing about fiction. I can make up any rules I want to. If I want Santa Clause to be the judge, why not? I know in real life things are complicated, but for the sake of not having to write a boring chapter dealing with legalities, I'm taking some liberties.
