You guys need to stop talking about food. Lunch today was a banana scarfed down in between tasks 1000657 and 1000658...... Y'all know I'm no longer religious in any way, shape or form. But.... sweet baby Jesus help me get thru the next two days without doing bodily harm to somebody! My boss had a phone interview he was conducting in another room and with two shut doors he was still clear as a bell. Calgon take me away!!

Methinks you and I would've butted heads. I'm okay with 2 & 3 (mostly), but in my world if you can't give me the common courtesy of replying to a good morning then we've got a problem. Pleasantries make dealing with people easier.

Does anyone remember the cartoon Bloom County? My vegetable slicer dicer thingy got delivered yesterday. My son put it on the counter in the kitchen. I left it there when I got home. My husband came home shortly after me. He went into the kitchen while I was in the living room. Hubby: Now what'd ya get from Amazon? Me: a slicer thingy so I can chop up veggies easier Him: OK Opus. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (For those not familiar Opus was the penguin from Bloom County who had an unnatural addiction to TV infomercials-he bought everything) Happy Tuesday! Send positive energy my way so I can deal with my boss without smacking him on the nose with a rolled up newpsper!

Welcome aboard! These guys are good guys. Kim is still a bit of a mystery. She's got some skeletons in her closet. Thanks for reading and commenting!

He's the poster child for adult ADHD. I've told him outright that he's like a puppy that's just woken up from a nap... bounces all over the place and won't listen. Came home and stress-ate a plate of nachos. First major backslide. The next week and half is going to be a major challenge to stay on track.

Slight venting ahead (more like pet peeve irritation) My work is about 5 miles from the airport. Twice now I've picked up my boss when he's flown in, which I don't mind...I get reimbursed for mileage. Both times I've asked him to let me know approximately when his flights were due in so I could block the time off. Both times he's called me from the airport to say that he's here. First time I had just gotten back from lunch...no big deal. Today I had a closing scheduled at 1, she forgot and when I called her at 115 she asked if she could still come by...she was only 5 minutes away. I told her sure... cuz I had nothing on my calendar. Of course he called while I was doing paperwork with her. I told him he'd have to wait. Took me 20 minutes to finish up with her. When I got back in my office the mail had come with a bunch of checks and my petty cash reimbursement. So I spent another 15 minutes getting my deposit ready. Figured if he didn't want to give me the courtesy of at least a time-frame, well then he could just wait. Add in a leisurely stroll to the ladies room before heading out and it was close to 45 minutes later that I even left. Thankfully he didn't complain...I would've shut him down in a heartbeat. I'm sorry....but that's just plain rude. Three more days..... *sigh*.

My characters often pick up traits of my friends and family.... Getting stuck between needing the short bus and just plain stupid, while not a common occurrence, happens often enough for it to raise an eyebrow or two. (Ok....it's me... I'm the one whose brain gets stuck sometimes...😝) A favorite line of my dad's growing up was "Did your mother have any survivors?" This was guaranteed to be uttered when one of my brothers (never me) did something stupid. Ribeye... mmmmmm. Food descriptions in my stories are directly related to how hungry I was while writing. I did have to learn to tone it down... sometimes got carried away. Thanks for joining the crew aboard this literary cruise. Grab your life ring and hang on!

And here I thought expired was a gentler way of saying dead...lol! Yeah....sorry it took so long for this one. Had a bit of writer's block and then got a promotion that bit into another 10 hours or so of my week with overtime. You can thank @Mrsgnomie for lighting a fire under my ass. She sort of pushed me back onto the track! As far as where this goes....well, you know me. It'll take a turn in into 'holy shit' territory at some point 🤣! Thanks for reading and commenting!

If you think expired means dead...then yeah, you're right🤭 Good to have you on board for this little tale. Bruce is a lovable floof. Tater is a clown disguised as a dog and Rosie is typical Golden happy-go-lucky. Kim is a sweetheart....but.....🤐 Thanks for reading and commenting!

Jett Anderson pulled his SUV into the wide driveway in front of his home. A loud thumping started from the backseat. Jett smiled and grabbed his duffle bag off the passenger seat and stepped out into the cooling late September evening air. He opened the rear door and was greeted with a soft ‘woof’ and more thumping of a rather enthusiastic tail against the leather seat. He hooked the leash to the big German Shepherd’s collar and said “C’mon Bruce.” The dog jumped down gracefully and stuck

Jett Anderson and Kyle Benton are starting to build a relationship. Life decides to throw in some speed bumps and hazards to make navigating the road not so easy. Add in some unexpected family dynamics and soon enough things get challenging. Can they work it out?

Feel good chapter..... Turned pretty awkward real quick... Morphed into intimidation.... Ended with one badass chick throwing out the garbage!! Go Rayna! Loved the new direction you took this in. So Ethan doesn't like therapy? Get him a new therapist...he needs it! Looking forward to more 😀

I've never had falafel. It sounds good though. Not sure about the deep frying part....

I'll take it and run with it. I think I'm going to keep her busy helping me with my story.

Thanks Reader! (I think I've given up on the whole idea of using them as a shell for anything. It's much easier to stick to slicing them up.) They were good grilled. Once they cooled off a little I chopped a few up, plunked them down on the soft taco shell, added the slaw mix that I sautéed and the citrus yogurt complimented the chili flavor. Never thought I'd see the day when I'd eat veggie tacos and actually like them!

I can hear that sweet Scottish accent clear as day as Faris fesses up to his mistake. Good to see these two again. It's been a while since I read the other tales and this was a nice surprise for the weekend. Thanks tim!

That's a lot of rewriting🤣🤣

@mollyhousemouse Jicama saga..... (sounds better if pronounced hee-camma saga 😆) I bought three good sized ones at the farmer's market yesterday. Resorted to the electric knife to get the skin off. Two of the three were brown and sort of mushy. Googled it. Not good. *sigh* The third one was OK inside but not big enough to try to make taco shells with, soooooo..... I cut them into something resembling steak fries, tossed them with some lemon/lime juice, sprinkled with chili powder and then cooked them on the griddle until they were a little soft. I liked them raw, but I liked the texture better when they were cooked and then cooled off. So dinner tonight will be regular whole wheat soft tacos and I sautéed a bag of slaw mix (red/green cabbage & carrots) radishes and bean sprouts. Made a citrus Greek yogurt dressing and younger son is thawing out chicken to go with his. So will I be getting jicama again? Yes. Now to figure out how to tell if they're not brown inside...🤔 I got a lot done today. Bedding all washed, roasted another batch of veggies, cleaned the floors and gave Camden a bath. Son needs to be at work for 5 and then it will be time to kick back with a little whiskey and chill. Stick a fork in me...done!

She better get crackin on this story or she'll never write the sequel.

I love the ending....much much better. I was too tired last night to make my brain work. I see some potential fodder for the next chapter based on the comments so far! 🤭🤫

The same part that's related to its cousin "What part of 'no' don't you understand, the N or the O?" My eyes just rolled to the back of my head. 🙄 Enjoy your coffee Kitt!

I've done that before. It's a great way to know about an outage when you've been gone for a few days. The biggest problem is not knowing how long the power will be out. When Irma came through we were gone for three days, came back and were still without power for another three days. Some people I knew had no power for over a week. I'm hoping we dodge the storms this year again.

I have a feeling I'm going to be the same way. Should be the best $30 spent on kitchen gadgets ever! I know my thumb will thank me. Stupid thing has been screaming at me lately...ugh. Got some already cut up watermelon at the store...damn is it good!
