Those face-palm moments that make you laugh are great for brightening your day. I laughed at my best friend last week and wished I could've smacked her upside the head. She texted me "Where did you live when you when you worked at Logan? Me: "Everett for a year. Why? Her: Daughter has an internship in Winthrop and is looking for a place to live for 3 months. Me: It was OK when I was there...but it was almost 30 freaking years ago Her: but where did you live? What city? Me: (rolling my eyes, sighing heavily) EVERETT!!! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤣🤣🤣 I swear I speak and write in tongues some days. Nope...everyday.

That has got to be the most insulting inspirational quote ever. Glad you gave him a virtual slap. And yes, the urge to slap an idiot happens nearly every damn day.

Oh, this was a beast of a chapter huh? Although I think the chapter should've been called Asshole Aiden Arrives. I forgot to suggest it earlier. Love the direction you took it in!

My husband is okay with the stove settings....(most of the time). It's the A/C or heater in the car he has trouble with. No matter what the temp is he defaults to defrost on the cat 5 hurricane setting. 🙄 I keep trying to tell him...it's air in the hair and heat on the feet!😁

2, 7, 8, 9, 12, and my favorite...19 Thanks for the laugh rick!

We miss you Chris! Good luck with all your upcoming tasks.

I laughed when the video said to "gently cook" the strawberries. I'm not a gentle cook...more like Emeril...BAM!😆 I'm also not usually too messy when I cook...I like to clean as I go. I have no idea how I had chia seeds all over the place. Pesky little things. Have a good day everyone!

@Mikiesboy I made the strawberry oat bars tonight. Just wow.....!! I did a double batch so I can take some to work. I also mixed raspberries and blackberries with the strawberries. OMG! As I was mixing the oat stuff my husband asked what I was making. I told him and then he says "are there nuts in it too?" So I added chopped pecans to the top layer. Nuts are healthy....right? The only question I have is....how the hell do you get the chia seeds off of the sponge? They totally infiltrated my kitchen sponge when I washed the sauce pan. 😆 I just know the sponge will sprout by morning....Ch-Ch-Cha-Chia Sponge! 🤣
-
Also...keep them in a dry place. Moisture/humidity can make them sprout. Then you'll have a Chia Pet.

I first read that as melon-chocolate and thought...why would anyone mix melon with chocolate? My brain is scrambled. I think Mondays in general are a bit melancholic (if it's not a word, it is now. I rather like it.)
-
Probably not. But....some of the messages they've left behind are good advice/values/credos to follow. Hope everyone has an easy Monday.

Borscht is simmering on the stove. Chicken Enchilada soup is in the big crock pot. Maryland Crab soup is in the smaller crockpot. I bought an electric can opener a couple of weeks ago and it certainly paid off today! Now it's time to kick back with some whiskey and a doggo on my lap. Enjoy the rest of your day!

First.... really well written chapter. Second..... why do I have a feeling that the core of this chapter is what sparked the whole story idea in your head? That's what usually happens to me. I'll get an idea or a scene that gets stuck on repeat in my head and then the story develops around it. The actual scene is buried in the middle of the story somewhere. Third... Get this guy some therapy!!! He can't deal with this type of trauma by himself. He needs professional help. That said, you're doing a great job of conveying his pain and angst. By facing his past he can start dealing with it and move forward. Fourth.... warnings are usually welcomed for those who may have certain triggers. It's a nice courtesy so that those who need to shore up their mental defenses can do so before they start reading.

You too molly!

Both of those links are now copied into my phone's notebook. I think I'll make the chicken enchilada soup tomorrow too. Sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!
-
YES!! That was it! If I ever make it to Australia I would love to go see a game.
-
I will be making this! I think tomorrow will be soup day.... crock pot, instapot and stock pot should do it. One for borscht, one for a veggie or chicken based and maybe something new.
-
Awww...never too much! It was good to hear from you. I haven't had borscht since I went to Russia. I need to find some little old babcia and convince her I need her recipe.
-
Me too!!

So glad you got to be socially non-distanced! I'm chomping at the bit for my trip back home so I can see my best friend in person. It's been almost 2 years. Much too long! How's the head today?

I used to watch Aussie football when it was on ESPN ages ago. So much better than US football imo. I can't remember the name of the team I liked best but they wore black and red uniforms and one of the players was hotter than hell and had an ass you could launch a Superball off of! (Hey...I was in my 20s ☺)

I love chia seeds too! Although I always get that jingle stuck in my head.... Ch-Ch-Cha-Chia!🤣🤣
