  1. Metal rat sounds like what you'd get if Metallica and Ratt had a baby 🤣
  2. Let's see. Cancer (female) Emotional & Intuitive: They feel things deeply, often experiencing rapid mood changes. Their high emotional intelligence allows them to read a room’s energy and provide profound comfort to others. Mostly true Nurturing & Loyal: As natural caregivers, they are deeply devoted to family and friends, frequently acting as the "mother" figure in their relationships. Abso-freaking-lutely Protective & Sensitive: They are cautious with their hearts, often building a protective, hard exterior to shield their vulnerable inner self. They take criticism personally. Sounds about right Domestic & Creative: They thrive in cozy, secure environments and often have a strong, creative, and imaginative side. Brain....Never. Shuts. Off Work & Relationships: In the workplace, they are tenacious and supportive leaders. In love, they seek stability and safety, making them incredibly faithful partners. Yup Common Weaknesses: Moodiness: They are prone to changing emotions. Yes. No. Well.... Maybe, depends on the day. Insecurity: They may become clingy or suspicious when feeling insecure. Uh, no. More like retreats under my shell Difficulty with Change: They dislike instability and disruption to their routines. Absolutely.
  3. I've always found it interesting to see other cultures perspectives on aspects such as how things like astrology and birth year animals are supposed to influence our personalities and the traits associated with those born on a specific date. I've met a few other people who share my birthday and our personalities were vastly different. I was born in a Year of the Monkey which in Chinese culture is associated with the Earth for the year I was born. In astrology I'm a Cancer which is a water sign. Does that make me muddy? I really don't know. Our forecast isn't great over the next several days. I'm hoping the weather is okay on Sunday. I have plans to get together with two high school friends, our husbands and our old French teacher for dinner at one of the girl's houses. We've had to reschedule once because of the big snowstorm. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Have a good rest of your week everyone!
  4. Thanks everyone. Things are better today. The child did apologize which I appreciated. He took the day off. I had a dentist appointment today with the practice that my two uncles started back in the 60s and then my cousin took over about 25 years ago. I had the same hygienist I had 27 years ago lol. I didn't see my cousin but I saw my uncle (not one of the ones who started the practice) who I haven't seen since 2016. I also ran into one of my brothers at the grocery store (the idiot one) and he broke a rib falling on ice while taking out the trash. Sigh. I've decided that I shouldn't be allowed to go to my hometown unsupervised. My car somehow ended up in the parking lot of the local meat market that's been there forever. I blinked and I was $112 poorer lol. Dinner was a hit tonight spinach, onion, sun dried tomato, and cranberry stuffed pork loin with seasoned asparagus and Parmesan mashed taters. Yum.
  5. Having a child with mental health issues is so damn hard. Tonight was the first night in a long time that I let my emotions get the better of me. Its frustrating to reach the point where something inside you breaks and you realize yet again, you're going to be blamed for things beyond your control, the things that f*¢¥ up their mind completely. Throwing in the towel is so tempting, but just not feasible when I know he isn't a bad kid, but a kid that bad things happened to. Hopefully we can convince him to go back to therapy. I'll push through the negative emotions because I'm his mom. Its what I do.
  6. We braved the cold today and went grocery shopping. I loaded up on chicken and pork so I can cook it all and freeze it so dinnertime is easier. As much as I like having a day off during the week, I'm not a fan of working until 6 two nights a week. If I precook everything then the troops can feed themselves. I made a batch of jalapeno popper chicken in the crockpot and hooooboy...its a bit spicy lol Its turkey burgers for dinner tonight, then kicking back and watching the game. Have a good one everyone!
  7. Of course I am. And it's paws... Your little paws 🤣
  8. -5°F/-20°C Omg. I think Hell has frozen over! I better go check on Lucifer. It might be a two pair of socks day.
  9. Perfect barefoot weather.
  10. To put things in perspective.... In Florida, other than wearing socks with sneakers when I went to the gym(cuz otherwise eewww) I can honestly say that on average I had to wear socks maybe 7-10 days a year. Now, other than showering and being tucked under the covers at night, my poor toes have not seen the light of of day in months. Months, people, months!!!!! As a consolation, I'm going for a pedicure next weekend so they don't mutiny. I can't wait for it to hit 50°F so I can break out the flip flops.
  11. The look on the cat's face says it all
  12. You can rock those, my friend, and I'll rock the open-toed pair like the badass I think I am. 🤣
  13. I would wear them. 100%
  14. I'll take a pair in every color.
  15. Dear Florida, I'm sorry. I miss you.
  16. Math isn't my strong suit, but based on a 40 hour week, for two years, your employer owes you almost $30K. More if overtime is involved or raises are involved. I think that's worth getting a lawyer for. Sorry you're going through this.
  17. Calico cat and a two tone mouse... And border can be multicolored. Problem solved.
  18. Aaannnndddd point proven.
  19. This is dangerous. 🤤
  20. So... Since I've been back up north where the Arctic tundra is apparently a thing I may have forgotten about in my 17 years in the Sunshine State, I've been trying to get my various aches and pains and overall health in check. I found a great primary care physician who I really like. Does it seem like I have a million referrals? Yep. I've been going to physical therapy once a week to work on the hips and knees because they got really messed up when I was battling the ankle tenosynovitis for 1.5 years. Its been helping. I didn't realize how off my gait really is. I've also made a decision to have weight loss surgery later this year. I'm not sure exactly when as it depends on how soon I drop 30lbs before the bariatric doctor will schedule it. I also can't take time off from the new job during the summer as it's the busy season. So I think if I can't have it by early June then September is realistic. In the meantime, I have to have a slew of preliminary tests done. Most I have to schedule, which I've done for a couple of them so far. I didn't need an appointment for an EKG or chest x-ray so I decided to get those out of the way after my PT today. Can I just say I was mightily impressed with the hospital I go to for all this stuff. My PT ended right before 11 and I was in my car on the way back home by 11:33. Both the X-ray and EKG were really quick with very little wait. Practically unheard of. So I've set the wheels in motion. I know it's going to be a long journey but it'll be worth it in the end if I can live much healthier. Wish me luck. Have a good day everyone!
  21. Sigh.... I'm gonna play a subliminal recording every night for you .. Pats, not cats!
  22. I'm back living in New England so of course it's the Pats all the way!
  23. His look says it all. 😜
