We're almost halfway. There's still a lot left, though it will fly by quickly.

It was like 5600 hundred words to start with and I split off 3k that didn't get used, and then added back 1,000 words filling in more detail. It's all working out though. I actually think it's better with the change. 14 might be a little long though.

He’s the only one that doesn’t live there. In Boss Nanny, Jay is always visiting. Chapter 8: “Where are you going?” “My best friend Jay is in town. A few of us are going out. I won’t be late.” Jay is not at every Board meeting. And yes, every time he babysits, he’s there visiting. Every time Loren drops by the cafe, which isn’t often, is because they’re there visiting. In chapter 21, Seamus asked Matt “I was thinking that after graduation you and I could go on a little break. Nothing crazy. Maybe fly to Seattle and stay on Orcas Island? I talked to Jay. He was actually thinking maybe he could take Aidan for a week? He lives in Seattle, and it would be your first time away from Aidan for more than a weekend. It might be nice to have him close by.” At the end of Boss Nanny, while in Mexico, Jay says he and Loren are moving close to them. “Loe and I talked a lot about the future and what that looks like. It doesn’t involve kids of our own and that was hard for me. It was also a willing sacrifice for the man I love. But I need to be an uncle. I want sleepovers and car rides and ice cream trips. So, as much as moving closer to you is for the business, it’s for me. It’s for us.” As for Northern Cali. Not sure why it comes off that way. Even as I wrote Boss Nanny, I had no clue where they lived 🤷🏻‍♀️ I always kept It vague. If anything, I was leaning towards Boise ID.

Good observation. Once I started writing them, it just didn't go that way. I had no way to know. With that said, it will be addressed in the next chapter...or the one after, I can't remember

I totally agree. Each profession as it's pitfalls. Loren's entire career is based on his online presence. It's just how it is. Just like Jay's career has a higher risk of injury than say a desk job. Desk jobs are linked to higher body weight and depression. There's always talk about how exhausting it is for online personalities because they feel like they have to be on. In reality, Jay isn't posting every day. Nor is he posting all day long. It's just little snippets. There's still a lot of privacy in the other hours of the day. I don't think Loren could have made it as long as he has if he didn't have some boundaries. ETA: For some people this could be a bigger issue. It's really not that for Jay and Loren. In this chapter, Loren didn't even voice that he needed to film content. That way Jay knowing what he needed. Mentally, I think it helped Loren relax to know he wasn't dropping the ball. "I know it sounds stupid to focus on something so trivial, but I will want to share all this, even if it’s not right away." Loren wasn't even wanting to post now, he just wanted to make sure he had stuff in case he wanted to share at a later date, once he was recovered more. I think that shows some of his boundaries. It's in interesting perspective and definitely something to keep an eye on. I don't think it will be quite as big of a deal for them, but they're both accustom to this kind of exposure so it's not nearly as daunting as it would be to someone like you and I.

So I stayed up late last night, splitting the original chapter into two and then smoothing out this half so it wasn't rushed. There's a real ying/yang thing happening here.

Yes, battles need to be picked. This was not the time to hash out details. Loren is still pretty sensitive. Confrontation would surely set him off and likely damage things between them, especially while he's fragile from recovery. I too think they just needed to slow down for a minute and deal with the biggest issue, and that's Loren's recovery. There's time for everything else later
