This is so true. A few years back I was director of a youth group. There was a senior who wasn’t directly involved but he came around occasionally. A year after graduation it came out that he’d been abusing a bunch of 8th and 9th grade boys. Using his position as a popular senior, varsity start, etc. so much of the community said there’s no way, he’d never do that. Me? I advocated for the 13 boys who came forward.
you can’t tell me 13 boys conspired against him and lied about being abused.
THIRTEEN. And that’s only the ones who has the courage.
Getting stuff like this out in the open will always be beneficial to a couple, even if there is still hurdles, they will be less difficult.
From Seamus’s perspective, Loren’s been really standoffish and he clearly think the world of Jay, so of course he’s a little hesitant. He doesn’t want Jay to make a mistake
I’m sure Jay can see the writing on the walls. He already has a taste for how Loe can pull away. Now that everything is laid out, the only way to ensure the beast doesn’t grow, is to make sure they’re intentionally in front of it.
Jay doesn’t miss a thing
Is Loren's twin going to make an appearance in this story?I bet you can write a very interesting scene on that.
It won’t be immediate. It’s not like he opens up to Jay and then miraculously, after a decade of silence, he randomly hears from his family. But yes, there is a lot more on the horizon.
I got a serious side eye when I saw him the next day. Especially since this was written and read before they won the Super Bowl.
I got a phone call after Rams won, as if to throw it back in my face lol
All of this but especially the part about Loren saving himself. He really isn’t looking to Jay to be his savior. He definitely needs the unconditional love and support that Jay can offer, but Loren is a strong guy and he has overcome a lot considering. Abuse, even with years id therapy, doesn’t just vanish. It’s a terrible, horrible type of cut that you live with but doesn’t ever go away and can sometimes still hurt when touched.
This isn’t the last we will hear of his parents or his brother, it won’t be right away, but they will circle back around.
Loren desperately needs a Jay.

“There is nothing worse than trying to spot your gray or black or red luggage from the hundreds of similar ones coming out of the carousel. The thing I love most about the Trvl luggage is that you can customize colors. I didn’t go crazy this time, opting for tan on the front half and black on the back, which matches my van. The vivid lime green I chose for the zipper and seams give it the pop I need to spot it from a distance.”
I spin the luggage around so
