Way to make me go back and stress read! JK. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make sense. I changed it around before posting it. That's how I always screw things up. @kbois would be so disappointed. I'm glad someone else agrees about Gibbs!

The next two weeks were crazy with work, Aidan, and finals looming. Even though he was as busy as ever, he found himself spending more time with Seamus. It started when Aidan had a bad day. Matt offered Seamus his apartment key so Aidan could settle at home where he felt the most comfortable. When he got home, Seamus had dinner going. It kind of progressed from there. School, work, Aidan, finals, and Seamus. When school finished for winter break, Seamus filled the free time. The only time t

Yes, and I'd rather see Seamus progress than Hilary or Kase!!

I don't think Kase and Hilary are bad friends. They're both attending college full time and working. On top of that, Kase is in sports. They might not be there to physically watch Aidan but they offer an emotional lifeline that Matt needs that in abundance.

Seamus isn’t in a rush. He can see that Matt is overwhelmed and is a patient man. He will do what’s right when the time is right. A little adorably when he does.

Matt's also overly sensitive right now. He's at a constant battle with himself over how he should be feeling or if he's handling things right. Did he over react? Probably, but he hasn't fully processed his huge change in his life. He's too busy trying to juggle everything. But Seamus was a little sharp in his judgement. Jealously doesn't always color well. I agree that Seamus's intentions are fairly clear but that doesn't mean that Matt can see it. Yet.

“Door’s open,” Matt shouted from the bedroom where he was getting Aidan dressed. It was the second Saturday that Matt was going to study uninterrupted. Courtesy of Seamus. He’d gotten a small taste of freedom the first Saturday now he was practically giddy in anticipation. The joy of a kid free study session outweighed any and all guilt he felt for not being at the café or that Seamus was watching Aidan on the weekend. Seamus leaned against the bedroom door with his hands in his pocket. He

I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far. We definitely see more of Seamus in the next chapter.

Thanks! I'm planning on posting every 3-4 days? Enough time for it to be read but not so long that people lose interest?

When Matt was at work next, Denise asked how it went with Aidan but never made a comment or mention of Seamus. Matt didn’t want to test his good luck and did everything in his power to make sure there was no reason to bring Aidan to work, even for fifteen minutes. It worked for about a week before Victoria showed up at the end of shift one day. She had somewhere to be and Matt had thirty minutes left on the clock. Everyone welcomed the chubby potato with open arms. Luckily, Seamus wasn’t t

I do think there is much to look forward to in this story. Of course, there will be drama and differences. They keep things interesting. Matt is young, he has to figure himself out. But I will say that this is my lowest angst story to date.

I skim some of it but I think there will be enough to understand the process. The process isn’t over night so we do have to wait a few chapters before it fully comes to light.

That is strange. Usually family adoption is fairly easy. Easier than a private adoption. The state wants kids with relatives so there's less hoops to jump through. I don't know how long ago this was, but I do feel like it's only more recently that single men, especially younger men (19yr) had a harder time with adoption or getting custody for that matter. I'd be curious why it wasn't approved.

It was always busy in the mornings at Coffee|Bar but Matt felt more pressure than usual as he busied himself between taking orders and making orders. He'd only been working there a few months and was feeling bad about requesting the weekend off to go see his mom. The least he could do was prove to Denise that she hadn't made a mistake hiring him. Hilary elbowed him after he fumbled and then saved a stack of cups. “Dude, calm down. What’s got you wound so tight? This isn’t like you.” “
