  1. A good story reads like the stock market. It will get better...and then worse...and then better.
  2. I don't, because I'm nice. But don't abuse my kindness.
  3. I shouldn't be hungry after reading about street pizza but I am.
  4. I… I cannot make any promises.

  7. It’s impossible to do grief any justice. What a beast. But I’m glad I can try.
  8. I can’t imagine. It won’t be easy.
  9. That would require you to have feelings…
  10. C’mon, we all know who @kbois is.
  11. You commented awfully fast... Parenting is hard even WITH a village.
  12. Kyan opened the passenger door and held his hands out. Despite the dark circles under her eyes and her shivers in the shockingly cool June afternoon, Dayna was radiant. “Easy,” he coaxed as he helped lift to her feet. Moving after a cesarean delivery was not to be messed with. Thanks to the twins, Dayna was all but forced to have another one with Gracie. They had fought for a v-back, a vaginal delivery after a C-section, but Gracie was breech, and Dr. Salomon didn’t want to chance any compl
  13. Kyan can’t imagine ever moving on. With four small kids, what would that even look like? Surely not his best friend and brother-in-law; the man who drops off groceries, forces him to confront his depression, loves his kids unequivocally, and supports him without question.
  14. I think the story premise is excellent, and the ending is thought provoking. It definitely garners a bit of sympathy for the perpetrator, not a lot, but some. it definitely makes me sad for them. Generational bigotry hard to break, paired with abuse and mental illness. Sheesh. Lots to unpack! It had a very clinical writing style, which could very well be the authors intent, but it was all telling and no showing, which made it hard for me to invest myself into the story and the characters the way I would have liked, given it was a good storyline/plot.

    Chapter 1

I really enjoyed this story! It’s funny because this isn’t my typical genre and yet I always enjoy them. I should really read more of it. The author did a great job maximizing 5k words, which is impressive. I would definitely read more if additional chapters were ever made available. All the previous comments are spot on. Great job Author, you nailed it.

    Chapter 1

Not your comment, was more of a generalized statement. Just seems like a lot of conversation is based on parent POV or child/person with mental Illness POV i think these conversations are a testament to this authors ability to write so clearly on a hard subject. We are all triggered lol

    Chapter 1

As a parent to a kid who has mental health issues, it is very painful to read stories like this. It’s also hard to hear both POV’s be so unforgiving. These situations suck. Of course we (parents) are not equipped. We go to lamaze classes, not 8 years of childhood development and psychology classes at ivy League colleges. We’re out here in the trenches, doing our best, being human, crying behind closed doors, loving our kids even when we find it impossible, and feeling immense pressure from ourselves and those around us. We don’t know what we’re doing until it’s too late. Wisdom comes from experience. How do you balance your own mental health when you’re in charge of someone else’s? And that someone else drains the life from you? What do you do? This is not rhetorical. I would love the solution lol. Wish these situations were easier… for everyone involved.

    Chapter 1

Wow. Incredibly well written. I could stop reading but I also wanted to shove it away. Being a parent is so hard. The world makes it seem so easy, that anything is possible because it’s your kid and you will always love them unconditionally. It’s not always that easy. Mental health is so damn taxing. Love isn’t always enough. I think the hardest part of the story is watching the MC have to decide when love isn’t enough, and walk away to save himself and save his marriage. It hurt. But at some point you have to. Excuse me while I attempt to emotionally recover.

    Chapter 1

Oh man. All the feels. This story was difficult and lovely and so very hard to read because there is nothing non-fiction about it. Sidney loved the Judge. Meredith loved the Judges money. Ugh. So hard. Love the story. What a great kick off to the secret author.

    Chapter 1

Well written and enjoyable! I did expect the outcome fairly early on, which isn't a bad thing. Overall, I really enjoyed this story! Can't wait to see who wrote it.
  21. Usenet. Wow. What's it like to be old?
  22. I do not know how I missed this comment! Oh my, I would have responded a month ago! Better late than never? Anyway, thank you for reading and commenting. This is a story near and dear to my heart. It means a lot that you enjoyed it so much. I'm working on a story right now. It's probably 80% done. I admit, I'm stuck in a bit of a rut, but I'm hoping to claw my way out and get it finished asap.
